Theres nothing better than going out to eat and the staff of the restaurant you choose making you feel right at home. That is exactly what you get when you go to the Tastee Freez in Gordonsville! The over the counter staff is nothing short of welcoming and helpful just sheer excellence. All the employees really seem to know the menu so feel free to ask about anything you see on that aesthetically pleasing oldtimey backlit menu hoisted above the smiling face at the register, and whoever is there will be glad to assist. Not only are the employees friendly. The management is just as hardworking and pleasant. But aside from the staff the food is also pretty darn "Tastee" as well (may i suggest the cheese steak?) This is an establishment that I frequent and there isnt a thing I would change. Weather it is your 1st time or your 100th time dining here youll always leave with a smile on your face! My husband and I visited there Wednesday June 28 with my son and grandkids. We always love the ice cream and shakes. On this visit, since our grandkids are visiting us from Florida, we decided on dinner there. After dinner, we had ice cream and shakes. The employees seemed to have forgotten they were working. I had to keep telling them we didnt get this freeze or that shake. They just kept saying I gave you that, then realized they hasnt even made it and were all standing around talking. Then I had placed a to go order that I still had to remind them they hadnt made yet. What really gets me is my husband always got a pineapple-cherry shake there and the last two times the owner refused to make it with the cherries or the marichinno cherry juice.not even offering to do so for an extra charge! In total for food and ice cream we spent over $60.00. I guess they dont need the business.

I have always had a soft spot for Tastee Freez since I grew up going to them. This one brought back so many memories. I had not seen one in several years. The banana split with wet nuts was great, the restaurant was clean, and the staff was friendly. I will be stopping back here for another banana split the next time I am in the area. 2016-5-24 Back above 80 degrees so stopped in for another banana split. Still great service and awesome treat! 2017-1-2 New year, MORE BANANA SPLITS!

Loved it, though I love all ice cream, so be warned. The cones were huge. We ordered our kids the small size and it would have been a large anywhere else. My wife had a shake and I had a malt, yes a malt. I wasnt aware they still served malts anywhere. Service and staff were great, very friendly. They were busy but not crowded. Sort of a hang out. Great place for a frozen treat!

We stopped by this place looking for something sweet and frosty after an amazing meal at the BBQ exchange down the street. It did not disappoint. I got a freeze with M & Ms. It was thick and delicious. I did not sample any of the food items, but it seemed like typical grease pit fare.

I wanted to suck on a chili dog outside the Tastee Freez, but they called the cops on us when my girlfriend, Diane, sat on my lap and I put my hands between her knees. Hey, were just two American kids who grew up in the Heartland! Now my thrill of livin is gone, but I guess life goes on.

Super nice, they walk around cleaning tables and asking if everything is alright.....Grilled Cheese and Tomatoes....topped with an Ice Cream with sprinkles....LOTS of good Chocolate sprinkles! THE BEST! Great people....Three people checked on us......We will always stop!

This was a lovely little burgers-and-ice cream place in Gordonsville. The chicken sandwiches were delicious and the fries very fresh. It reminded me strongly of a place I used to love back in the Nineties. Everyone was very friendly here.
