Stayed overnight at the Inn on the Hudson this week and was pleased to see that the attached--but separately and newly owned--Vue restaurant was open. I was even more pleased with the service and the food. My dinner, which was one of several enticing choices, was wonderful. Not only that, but my special requests were very cheerfully accommodated, including the manager checking to see that all was fine--it was more than fine; it was terrific. My selection, the broiled salmon atop (and this was to accommodate me) sauteed spinach and ziti with shaved parmesan was fabulous. There is a nice bar in the restaurant and there was a real fun (but well-behaved) crowd from the local Knights of Columbus drinking and dining the night I was there. That made the experience all the more enjoyable. Oh, did I mention the view of the Hudson? Magnificent. Overall, this was the perfect place to dine that overnight in Peekskill. I strongly recommend the Vue to anyone in the area or passing through.

Some nice upgrades to a slightly dated decor. The service is friendly and down to earth. The menu is surprisingly well equipped! The outside dining deck provides a fantastic view of the Hudson River and dramatic, ice age sculpted hills, dropping steeply into the water. The bar is welcoming and well appointed with top shelf favorites. DJ services, through the hotel, make this a great spot for any cratered gathering that includes music/dancing, and good food! Being around the corner from the Indian Point Energy Center and other travelling contractor hot spots, makes this a perfect venue for a home away from home (as in my case)! Oh, btw, I had the beef short ribs. EXCEEDED expectations! Truly the definition of fork tender, with outstanding flavor!

I am staying long term as I am working here in Peekskill. I have visited many restaurants in the area and prefer to eat here at the Vue. Adrian is a wonderful chef. He will come out of the kitchen and discussed the dinner choices, then go and make the most amazing dinners, always surpassing my expectations. John the owner is very friendly and makes one feel at home. Jack is a professional Bar tender and has worked in NYC for thirty years and is now at the Vue and tops off the experience there. Highly recommend.

Food was not bad, but they sat us next to the hot vent on the balcony from the air conditioner on a warm summer night. So we moved inside and there were dirty dishes everywhere and we had a hard time finding a clean table. Also, the waitress complained because we sat at a big table that was clean. Staff was very slow, they apologized but we had to wait 15 minutes just to get our check. Do not go here. Service is very bad.

The view was spectacular. The service was abominable. The waitress had every aspect of our orders completely wrong, no matter how many times we informed her, though she was very nice. Two of our three meals were tasteless. We had to ask for salad dressing twice and for water or ice tea as many times. Very disappointing experience overall, but definitely worth a second try.

Entree style food is not great. Stick to bar bites and sandwhiches. Decent view. Friendly staff. Closes early.
