I give this restaurant 1 star because what Ive tasted so far is delicious. However, the service I received TODAY was very poor and unprofessional. I called to place an order for delivery at 7:58pm & was placed on a long hold. For the duration of the hold, I could hear the young lady and a young male having a personal conversation. She finally came back to the phone at 8:04 and said they couldnt deliver because they stop making deliveries at 8:00pm. Okay, so I asked to place the order so It can be ready for me to pick up & was placed on hold again, while hearing personal conversation again! I was on HOLD SO LONG, EVENTUALLY I HUNG UP! I called back at 8:20 to TRY and place my order again and was placed on HOLD! Go figure! Finally I gave up. As a business owner myself, I find it unacceptable to unjustifiably leave a customer on hold for so long while holding personal conversations. You sabotage your own business by doing so. Not only was I ordering dinner for 3 people tonight but Im hosting an event tomorrow and wanted to order some large pans for catering. However, due to the lack of appropriate service tonight, Ill be taking my business elsewhere. I truly hope the owner gets an opportunity to read this post and cares enough to make the neccesary adjustments in his or her staff and operating procedures. I will admit the food is delicous but the customer service was poor and unnaceptable and as discerning customers, we realize that we have other options and are willing to exercise them.

So sad when you try to support business of color and you get terrible unprofessional service. I ordered the lunch special shrimp and fries. I asked how many came with it the lady who took my order said 8 I received 6 when I called about she said she made a mistake only come with lunch special she did offer to exchange my meal for fried whiting I told her that the fish was cheaper the shrimp. That was the second thing she didnt know about own job. When I asked instead of wasting the food I would be returning could I just get 2 more shrimp since she did misquote how many I would after specifically asked before ordering. She yelled back to the cook"could you just give her two more shrimp because she is whillin out over two shrimp" all this while on the phone with her. Completely unprofessional and ghetto. I hung up and went back into the business. I let her know I did not want to return anything and I didnt want any money back I just would not be coming back and that I heard what she said and that it was out of line and unprofessional. I doubt she nor the business owner cared and like the soul restaurant before them I guarantee they will be out of business in a matter of months to make way for a checkers Starbucks whatever...so sad my small minority business fails in America...No business etiquette!!!!

My first time ordering from this place. I ordered the Golden Baked Chicken dinner with Candied Yams, Seasoned Rice, and Collard Greens. All came to a lil over 17 bucks. Now Im not one to complain about the price of food, especially when it is good. But this food was not worth the price. It came with a small amount of rice, which was hard, three small pieces of chicken, some yams. The only thing they seemed to be generous with, was the callard green, which were nasty, and way over cooked. Will never order from this place again. Their food is overly hyped.

Ordered for delivery and the driver didnt call, must took my number down wrong and then the restaurant who has very strict ordering policies for deliveries didnt even call to inform me he couldnt contact me so I had to WAIT over an hour to hear I wasnt going to be receiving my food. I order because far rockaway lacks good food spots but their customer service always sucks, food is too salty and the fried chicken is sub-par

Small portions of meat and undercooked. Stuffing and yams taste like they came out of a can. This was my 3rd time eating there which were theree different meals 3 strikes they are definitly out......need better cooks and dont be cheap with your meat. My chicken was nothing but skin and bones and im a very lite eater and this did not satisfy me.

Good food but late delivery each time. Honestly its worth the wait though. This is not food you can get from everywhere so thats why Im usually patient. The people who work there as well as delivery team are nice and they never tell me that they dont have something i want to order with is common with other soul food restaurants.
