I do not even know where to begin! No pun intended. My fiance and I celebrated our engagement party this past Saturday and we could not be happier. From the moment we had our first consultation with Ben to the very end; everything went smoothly. We were running late and walked in 15 minutes prior to the party with decorations. Ben and his staff immediately transformed the restaurant into exactly what I envisioned with ease and professionalism. The slideshow we emailed the night before was already on the television screen and the music was just right. My friends and family havent stopped raving about the food, the wine and beer. The top contenders according to our guests was the meat and cheese plates, pork belly skewers, the delicious salmon and the Brussels sprouts. My personal favorite was the Pesto Gnocchi with a touch of Burrata. The servers were welcoming and attended to every guest. Specifically Meghan, who because my fiance and I were mingling during the first hour of passed appetizers made sure we had at least two of each on our table for us to try. We definitely set the bar for our wedding and can not wait to go back to dinner. Thank you again to Beginnings and the staff. So happy!

I wish I could have given it 5 stars only because were it not for the noise I would have. The food was tasty enough BUT...we stepped in and saw only 2 tables occupied with a total of 6 people (two of which were young children) about 10 people around the bar and 3 BLARING TVS as loud as they could possibly go! SO WHAT THERES A FOOTBALL GAME...REALLY?!?!?!? Its not the SUPERBOWL and even if it was it NEVER warrants the TVS being at its loudest! The decibels were probably at maximum range!! The few people that were hanging out at the bar were basically screaming at eachother to be heard. In NORMAL restaurants TVS showcasing sport are usually on mute or as low as possible at best with subtitles. So it was so bad I couldnt even enjoy the food enough to make a decision on whether or not it was good. So for the food I give 2 stars, for the annoying noise ----0. Please change this issue. NOT EVERYONE is an avid SPORTS FAN, but were all food fans that want that to be the FOCUS of the meal and the reason for our visit. Btw...I even asked if it can be lowered and I was refused!!! Not a very good thing to do to potential ongoing patron and one whos going to go on GOOGLE to report their evening.

My fiancé and I just had our engagement party at Beginnings during the day on a Saturday. Everything turned out even better than we could have expected. Ben and the whole Beginnings team are an absolute pleasure to work with and this is coming from someone who has been in the service industry for over 10 years. From the meetings planning out the food to any changes the day of, they were all so accommodating. The space is perfect for events, we had about 80 people and definitely had a lot of space. We did more of a cocktail style party with passed hors doeuvres and active stations. The food is incredible and there was not one negative comment from all the guests. We had different styles of food including Asian, American and Italian. They allowed us to have a display cake but also offered us an array of desserts. We decided on an open bar and everyone was definitely pleased. Ben made a great playlist of music which gave the day a great flow. All in all we had a pretty perfect day and will be planning events there in the future.

The experience at beginnings was terrible! It started good though, the hostess was amazing (christine) she called me several times to find/arrange the table for me. The tuna app was also very delish. Then came the entrees ( salmon burger and swordfish special). The salmon burger was less than expected. The swordfish tasted like pork and was completely tasteless. Thank god for the manager bc he brought me out a salmon entree. If I thought the swordfish was bad, the salmon was supposed to be served medium, however it was burnt and so salty! I took 2 bites and couldnt even finish it. The crazy thing about that was the owner (Ben) came over to quickly remove the plate and Im Sure he noticed it was completely uneaten and he didnt even ask "how was your food" as well as the server (Allison) did not care to ask how the salmon entree was! Needless to say that was the end of beginnings for us!

So, I went there expecting a nice dinner with some family. We come in and its loud like you wouldnt believe. We are waiting by the front for about 15 minutes when finally the hostess comes over. She says nothing and stares at us, until I say Can we have a table for 4 please and she looked at us nervously and gave us a bunch of a excuses to not eat at this restaurant. She said, "We cant seat you, unless you want to wait for 2 hours for you food, and she also mentioned that workers were leaving the restuaruant and they had to let somebody go, and was having a breakdown. She then said that we should not eat her, so we proceeded to go to another restaurant down the street, which was much better than this place.

This is my new most favorite place – for the awesome food, delightful atmosphere and warm-hearted staff. I’m a vegetarian and appreciate the many options, loving the beet salad and veggie press sandwich. My carnivore husband described the “boom boom rock shrimp” appetizer as blissful, the “finger lickin’ ribs” as the best he ever had, and the filet mignon as melt-in-the-mouth. Even sides such as the “burnt cauliflower” and toasted barley (which comes with the steak) were amazingly special. The engaging bartenders expertly but respectfully assisted our drink choices. We eat at Beginnings whenever we visit relatives in the area, and we will be seeing them a lot more often so we can dine here again and again.

Sometimes the food takes a bit too long but its worth it when it comes out !! One of the best meals you can get in Long Island! Chef Dave is a beast ! Filet mignon is my favorite thing on the menu but if thats not for you they always have a long list of specials that changes a lot. Right now I think they have frog legs which Ive been looking for forever in Long Island. Theyre never scared to put on cool "out there" ingredients that are high end and youd usually have to go to the city for.

Excellent waitress service. Wonderful decor. Concept of the name doesnt jibe with the decor. Ridiculously slow wait times for food. waited over an hour for our food. Food was much too rich and over-seasoned. Even the pickle chips were too much. None of us finished our food because the taste was too much. Needs more subtlety in its recipes. Wont be going back until i hear better things about the food.

We just went to brunch for my birthday. The Farmers Omlet was fluffy and delicious with goat cheese. The bloody Mary had just the right amount of spice. The buttermilk pancakes and chicken apple sausage were yummy too. Dessert for us was the smores pie which was also AWESOME! Bianca our server was attentive and very friendly. Definitely give this place a try.
