The one thing I do like about Nopalito is they serve warm roasted green chili as thier "chips & salsa" when you walk in. I had never thought of doing that, but now, I warm up cans of green chili to eat with chips all time. :) Aside from that, I thought the food was average. Every time Ive eaten there the food was too salty to really enjoy. It had about as much flavor as any pre-cooked meal I could buy at the grocery store. So salty, yet it didnt taste like much. Plus, I like SPICY food and the plates that Ive tried so far were only medium to mild spice. If you love spicy food, eat at the next restaurnat up the street (La Nueva Cocina). If you cant handle real spice, then Nopalito is good.

Good food but bad service. When my family and I walked in we had a large group of 10 people, one of the people who work here came to seat us she asked "how many people" we said 10 she then got frustrated and made the remark "it would have been nice if you made a reservation" we brushed it off and sat to eat. The service was not very good, our cups were more often then not empty, we had one waitress who was very nice. So if you are looking for good food this is a good place, but dont expect the best service.

I really should say that this is a great choice for New Mexican food, for I do consider that there really is such a thing as New Mexican cuisine. It differs significantly from the food found elsewhere in the State. Well, Nopalitos is the very best New Mexican food I have ever eaten, and I eat there often --- from one to four times a week on average. Once in a while, I eat elsewhere, but for New Mexican food, this is the best. By far.

Service is good but could be improved by having wait staff ask if they could refresh your drink The rice tastes like mexican minute rice. Very amazing food and service! We had a very funny and kind waiter who was down to earth with us. He provided friendly service. The food tasted home-cooked and comforting. The gorditas were delicious! We will definitely be coming back. I recommend this place, especially for the delicious gorditas and complementary tortilla chips!

The waiter Ernest. Over charges and does not inform you that you need to order a drink for taco tuesday not just water and no where does it say that you need to order a drink. They just assume that because youve been there before that you know and thats not for you to remember its there job to inform the customer.

Good chips and the red Salsa was also good. Green salsa was just ok. Surprisingly little flavor for the massive amount of chile in it. The red enchiladas were excellent but the green was pretty flavorless. Service was very nice but slow. Great prices for lunch specials.

As good as it gets. This is southern New Mexico Mexican food at its finest. The green chili salsa is truly spectacular, and the works enchilada plate simply delicious. The burrito plate and the hamburger that my companions had were by their report excellent also !

Was not greeted right away. Small portion of stale chips. Waitress was inattentive to our needs. Other guests were served and left before us. One order in our party of 5 came out 6 or 7 mins late!!! For what I paid, I should have went to Golden Corral.

Beautiful atmosphere. Very clean. I always get the combo plate 3 because i cant decide what to get. Its all delicious. Kids love the tacos and beef burrito plates. The green chile sauce that is served with the tostadas is wonderful! Great service!!!

This was probably the best Mexican restaurant we went to in Las Cruces during our family reunion. The food, salsa and the service was the BOMB! So very friendly and even gave us a little history of the place. It was a church at one time.

Im not a huge fan of the mariachi music that was playing but I loved the food and my server even more. Daren was an excellent server who made sure we had everything we needed as well as answering all of our questions. I was pretty pleased.

My Husband and I have gone to Nopalitos for about 37 years. On the top of our list for best Mexican food in the area. We like to mix the green and red salsa. We order the Mexican plate red. Everything on it is fantastic!

Nopalit is has awesome food, every time we go the salsa has way too much jalepeno. The waiter brought my dates food first and my order five minutes later.

Great, authentic Mexican food. Everything is great, best rice in town. Too bad theyre closed on Wednesdays. Local favorite, maybe too spicey for tourist.
