This place is awful!!!! If you think these are good tacos please go down to federal blvd and eat at a real mexican place! The asada was dry and flavorless the watermelon ceviche was nasty the fish was obviously old and had some weird texture to it very mushy and smelled fishy. The chilaquiles were disgusting with the guajillo paste not salsa it was a dark paste that tasted like bacon and tomato paste. They put cilantro on my shrimp taco and i asked for no cilantro. When i waved down the manager she was not surprised that the kitchen screwed up at all. She didnt even bother comping it off the ticket . also she saw i obviously didnt eat the ceviche i barely touched it because it smelled of fish and she didnt even ask about it!! I dunno if she was even a real manager the server just said she was. An older asian woman with gray hair. If they send her to ur table ask for another manager she will not be accommodating you or your party. I spent 200 dollars on drinks and food for 4 people and we all equally hated our food. No one was satisfied. We will never be returning.

Food is excellent, people are great, but the last few times, the music has been waaaaay too loud. Loud and boring. If theyre not playing reggae, its this impossibly generic "hip urban chic bar" XM station that could scrape tens of points off the top of your IQ at any volume level, but they play it at such deafening levels that youre forced to either sit there and glance awkwardly at your date, or lean over your table, shouting and cupping your hand over your ear like an 18th century finance tycoon. Ill ask for it to be turned down, and it will, slightly, but the next time I visit, somebodys sure to have wiggled the knob up higher than before. I mean, I get it, somebody heard at a seminar that louder, fast-tempo music can be great for drink sales, but Im there to eat tacos for Gods sake, not guzzle jager bombs, grind on a bunch of chicks in high heels, ride a mechanical bull and get in a fight with a guy in an Ed Hardy shirt. Last time we tried to go, we paused across the street, taking in the din from the rooftop patio, and we just couldnt do it.

My coworkers and I eat here often since its near our workplace and has a $10 lunch menu. The food is hit or miss, but usually okay. There seems to be a ridiculously high turnover in the waitstaff...which maybe is the same for the kitchen and could explain the variety in how our food comes. My coworker will order pork but always get steak in his burrito. We arent sure why. Weve asked. He still gets steak. The reason why Id be apt to give this place two stars is because the service is usually horrendous. There arent glasses for the water. Its more like water-shots and waiting over a half an hour for more water isnt unusual. You may get refills on your chips and salsa (but never both at the same time...) if you manage to get the one good waitress/waiter there. Its just a lot of waiting usually to order food, get it, and then waiting around for the check itself is also not unusual. Super slow, awful service.

We loved this place when they first opened, but now its just insanely busy and often miss [rarely hit] service. The music is blaring so you cant hold a conversation, the service is pretentious sometimes, and the bartenders can completely ignore you. They have a text service when youre waiting for a table that doesnt work, so you can easily miss your chance for the table. The food is great when its on point, and the rooftop bar at this location offers a great view on a nice day. I recommend only going during off hours when its not as busy and the servers are actually available. Try the other location at Belleview in the DTC. It offers better service and atmosphere.

This review should be 5 stars if it were not for the interpersonal skills of "Sam" the bartender. I live and work downtown and like walking across the street to have a drink for happy hour. I eat out almost every meal so i dont always remember the bartenders names. I try to do the best i can. When Sam came to take my order, I said to Sam, im sorry, ive forgotten your name. She replied, "I never told you!" and she said it in a rude demeanor. "Where do these people come from!". Anyway, jose and andy walked up to me and introduced themselves and were awesome. Everyone else at Los Chigones is so nice! Its a shame that one bad apple has to spoil the barrel.

The food and service was excellent. Inside is really noisy so we were on the front patio which has its own street noise. There is a rooftop patio which no doubt is quieter but was full when we arrived. While most of the dishes are for omnivores, they offer respectable vegetarian and vegan options. The distinctive flavors of each dish were wonderful. Los Locos lager is brewed specifically for Los Chingones and while available in cans elsewhere was an added treat on tap here. We would not hesitate to recommend this place to our friends and family. No doubt well be back on a future trip to Denver.

Awful service, top five worst dining experiences. Sat upstairs on a Tuesday at 8pm. Tacos took over 35 minutes, were cold and they really werent that good. Drinks took over 20 minutes. The bar upstairs was understaffed. The bartender was clearly overwhelmed by herself with a full bar. Had to ask repeatedly for chips and salsa. When we asked a food runner he responded with "thats not my job ask a server." Great attitude to have in a service establishment. Guest service is not only not a priority here, it was not a concern at all. Manager was clueless. Will not go back.

The atmosphere is awesome. They have a patio and an upper deck you can sit at. Also a downstairs and upstairs bar. The tacos are very unique. Some of the meat options were chicken, steak, fish, pork, lamb, and octopus. The more specialty tacos with the unique meat like octopus were $4 each. The more basic meat were $3.50 per taco. Almost all tacos are on a small, soft flour tortilla. A couple with hard shell. The tacos were good and different, but not worth the money. We also ordered guacamole and that was delicious! I think people go more for the atmosphere.

Our organization just held our annual retreats happy hour here and it was a great decision! The food was delicious, served on time and perfect for a larger group. Space was clean and servers were very attentive. Not to mention the manager, Nick, who made the night with his energetic personality. He was beyond accommodating in helping make the event a success! I would recommend planning far enough in advance since making the reservation took a while and communication was slow. Overall, great place to host an organizations happy hour!

Who I assume is the sou chef seems to be working so insanely hard, this kitchen would not operate without him I am very impressed. The flow and the rhythm of the kitchen is on point. Bo (?) not sure how to spell his name, but this kitchen seems like it wouldnt survive without him, I am so impressed with how well he is handling every single aspect of the kitchen, from working in a restaurant I know its no easy task. Also the staff is so great, everyone I encountered was so kind and welcoming. 10 out of 10 at this place
