The food is decent for a strip-mall bbq joint, but the last experience we had, and then the follow up service we received today was horrible. I ordered a Brisket Po Boy for pick up, got home, and found a short, blonde hair on the roll. I then opened up the sandwich to make sure there wasnt anything else disgusting in it, and I found an inch long piece of plastic in the sandwich. I am assuming it was the plastic that the brisket is encased in before it is sliced for individual meals. We called the restaurant, asked to speak to a manager, and spoke to the sons owner, Adam. He said he would make it right, by either comping the meal, or offering to give us a free sandwich the next time we ordered. Since we had eaten here before, we just said to give us a free Po Boy the next time we ordered. He said he put our "name in the books" and we will be given one the next time we come in. Now, 2 weeks later, my husband went in, and attempted to get the sandwich Adam had offered to us. The owner himself said, "Nope, not without a receipt." My husband explained what his son had said, and that we werent told to keep the receipt. The owner then followed up with a comment regarding the plastic I found in the sandwich, and actually said "well, at least it was clean." Really? Any owner of a business should attempt to keep customers happy, especially after theyve provided food with a hair AND a piece of plastic in it. I will never go back, and I hope if you choose to eat here that you will diligently search your meal before you consume it. Oh, and keep your receipt!

GREAT, GREAT, GREAT, GREAT!!! OK. How could that be? Well, I have traveled all over this country. I have tasted BBQ from Texas, Colorado, Kansas City, Memphis & the Carolinas. They all tell you that the FAT brings out the taste, but to me it brings out the SNOT. Big Papas NEVER has fat. This is the most generous and lean portions in the country. The beans are just incredible. The taste will put you in such a great mood, that you received more than your moneys worth. They add so much meat in the beans, its really a beef dish with a few beans! The brownies. You will not find a better brownie. So delicious, it doesnt require a fudge top frosting. And for me, I cant eat a brownie without frosting, but these are simply amazing. Just stop in a see for yourself. The food here is always consistent, even the fried fish meals are delicious. An amazing small local GEM that has been around for many years, and I only wish them huge success. In fact, I have brought many friends here and bet them money theyve never had a better BBQ. I was right. And my friends have been all around the world. And weve been back four more times since my last review. Exceptional food.

Great food and Awesome Margaritas!! We went on a Tuesday night at 6 PM and the entire place filled up after we sat down. Food portions were really generous and we had more than enough leftover to take home. My husband had shrimp tacos and I had the Enchiladas Supreme. Both were very good and served in a traditional manner. The margaritas really great! They werent all sour mix, like many restaurants and for only $2 all day on Mondays and Tuesdays, you cant go wrong! The service was pretty good, even at peak time with every table filled. We were waited on by two people that worked together on every table throughout the restaurant. Both servers were very friendly and took nice care of us. We did wait a little long on a couple of our margaritas and the food came out FAST--almost too fast. They definitely get 5 starts for the food and margaritas. The service was a little off, which is why we only rated this at 4 starts overall. We will be going back to this neighborhood gem again and again!

My family and I discovered this place about two months ago and have been coming once a week since. Our kids love the tacos and enchiladas. I havent had salsa this good since my family from Mexico made some. Everything is always fresh and we havent had one thing that wasnt phenomenal. The carnitas are absolutely amazing, covered in their homemade green chili sauce that is to die for. If you happen to have room for dessert the fried ice cream is outstanding, and also the sopapillas are the best that I have ever had. Not only is the food a five star quality but the service there is outstanding. They remember your face and treat you like friends. If youre looking for great food, great service, and a wonderful dining experience then look no further than chakas. I have been sending many of my clients from the barbershop to this place and have also heard nothing but great feedback.

A DOG FRIENDLY RESTAURANT? Are you kidding? I had lunch there today and a couple parked in the "15 minute only" parking spot and ordered some food. They sat down for about 2 minutes and then the woman went to the car and got her dog. She watered it at the table while holding it, until the man went and got a kiddie seat to hold the dog. Then they were served their food, and all three ate and drank and had a good old time. The servers obviously saw the dog while delivering the food. I was shocked! The food was pretty good, and the portions were slightly small for the price, but who wants to eat in a restaurant that lets dogs eat at the table. And if you go in with a kid, BRING YOUR OWN HIGH CHAIR! Theirs have dog slobber on them.

The cashier/server was very helpful and friendly. Very patient since it was our first time there. She was very accommodating. I ordered Baby Back ribs. My party ordered St Louis with sides. They were not falling-off-the bone tender but they were well done. Lots of char and they already had a sauce on them. Plus they have 4 other sauces for you. I preferred the Kansas City sauce. Jim liked the original sauce. The place was full to bursting --tables for four all over with a roll of paper towels on each table. Plenty of towelettes (Youre gonna need them). We are all going back. Sue wants the pulled pork and catfish fry and Jim wants the pulled pork but Im going back for the ribs or chicken. GREAT PLACE

Been here before and have gotten pork ribs and they were good. Got the all you can eat beef and bison ribs, not much meat on the large bones, The ribs were also burnt. When I went back for seconds to ask for more ribs the counter girl told me I could not take them with me. I told her I did not plan on doing that. She gave me a dirty look and tried to make me feel guilty for asking for more. (hello its all you can eat). Then after waiting a long time she brought me out two burnt ribs. We were sitting at are table and we had lots of dirty plates that were not removed.
