I came here for breakfast on a Saturday morning. It was my first time to Gardiner as I am not from New York and I had to go to the post office. I didnt know what this place would offer for food as I was hungry and would settle for anything. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the market portion of the store had many things I buy on a regular basis but also they have a extensive menu. I had a Mexican omelet or something to that effect. It was very enjoyable. If I am ever in this part of New York again I will be stopping by again. This is not a restaurant, you order and pay at the counter and they bring it to you. You dont have to worry about tip or someone needing to give you a refill. Too bad that the other review of this place was not so positive. Hope this helps others looking for something different.

While I am not from Gardiner, I had heard about this place through a friend so I decided to check it out. Unfortunately, it was not worth the trip. The counter attendant (I assume an owner) was rude to her help and on the phone while I was ordering. While the market may have small-town flavor, that does not excuse the way I was treated. I also noticed that for the most part, gloves were not being worn and I didnt get the impression that they were overly concerned with cleanliness. That aside, I expected better service than what I was given. I dont think Ill be returning anytime soon.

Ridiculously long time just to order. They had one person taking orders and that person was not exceedingly attentive. Besides all that they were out of turkey and the pastrami sandwich had about three pieces of pastrami on it. It was very tasty pastrami though. It was somewhat overpriced but I expected that.

The pregnant lady at the counter was rude and not friendly at all. The soup bar was not re-stocked with toppings/the chilli was gross and I definitely did not get my moneys worth of food with the portions they gave. What a waste of my money on crappy food.

Usually stop here for lunch and have never been disappointed. Food is fresh and huge menu with awesome pastries and desserts. Overall very impressed!
