Today we landed there for lunch with my family. All the dishes were spot on. Extremely good!! Keep up the good work! You guys make the best Indian food in NJ. Thank you for the wonderful service. The staffs were very attentive, deligent and always smiling! The buffet area has been revamped and place looked very organized, neat and clean! We were very well taken care off! Thank you once again! Previous review 3 months ago Went there today with my wife at 12.30. It was a little disappointing. Place was overcrowded, long queues leading to the buffet counters, after a long wait when we did get our turn to fill, there was nothing left as almost all the dishes were empty. Had to wait for a while but there was no signs of a quick refill. We had to scrape through what was left to move from the line. We were back on the long line once again after a while hoping that the trays were replenished and again we found the trays empty while we got our turns to fill. It was very disappointing. We finally had to eat what was was left out and most of which were not the food of our choice, but had to manage with available options in the interest of time and other people waiting in the line. Our third attempt to get a refill with food of our choice turned futile. Although the food tasted good, we ended up eating dishes that we actually didnt go there for. The Biryani was the item we looked for but ended up eating fried rice and dosas! Note to management: The place need to be managed properly, service was poor as there were no waiters in the vicinity. The refills were never on time. We came there for Biryani but returned having none as - the Biryani trays were always empty - the Butter chicken curry had no chicken left in it - the fried chicken trays were empty Hope you improve and we dont get the same feeling next time when we do visit. Previous review : 5 stars Absolutely fantastic. Excellent spread in truly chettinad style. Every dish tastes as it should and they maintain the consistency. Been here several times and would love to visit more often. I think this is one of the best Indian restaurant in this part of town. 10.95 for buffet is a bang for the buck! Visited this place again for lunch today 3/29/17. The food was spot on. Biryani was extremely good. Butter chicken, tandoor and even the vegetarian selection was awesome! Five full stars! Keep it up Arasuvai!,

We had a horrible experience at Arusuvai when celebrating Mother’s day on Saturday night for dinner. Customer service – The restaurant was less than half full and there was an event blasting music in the banquet hall, however there were more than enough servers working. They avoided our table of 9 and when we were finally able to get their attention to get water or take-out boxes, etc, they either forgot or never came back for 20 min. The whole dinner took nearly 2.5 hours because they would forget our table for such long stretches. Food – We confirmed two times with the waiter what the entrees were, and yet somehow, they forgot the veggie noodles and shrimp noodles. When they were finally brought to the table 30 minutes after the rest of the food, they were both made very spicy. We asked for low and not spicy, respectively. The spicy shrimp noodles were returned to the kitchen because being 8 months pregnant, I could not eat it. Another 20 min would pass before it came back. It was still spicy and this time literally only had 4 shrimp in the whole dish, and almost no vegetables. It almost looked like they took part of the original dish and just added plain noodles to it. No apologies were ever given by the waiter for the screw-ups. Upon leaving the restaurant, I complained to the manager. He said he would refund the shrimp dish but instead only gave us $10 back when the dish was ~$15. He seemed more concerned with bragging about the seafood options than hearing what a terrible experience we had. Taste – other than the noodles, the other entrees garnered no complaints. The exception was the mango lassi. For almost $4, you get the skinniest glass (probably barely 8oz), and it tasted like cardamom and yogurt with some orange food coloring. I’m curious where the mango taste was. Portion sizes – Like the mango lassi, the portion sizes were rather small, especially for the price. Also, be wary that when you order a dish, it doesn’t come with rice like one would expect. You have to order it separately. I understand ordering naan separately, but would expect plain rice to come with the entree! Parking – Good luck finding metered street parking in front. We had to circle several times and ended up on some sketchy side street.

We went to this restaurant as a group of 14 for dinner, a-la-carte. With the exception of two items, everything was delectable. 1. Vegetable biryani was superb and came with their sauce and raita. 2. Baby-corn black pepper appetizer was VERY spicy even at medium but extremely tasty. 3. Veg 65 Gobhi (cauliflower) was a star appetizer. 4. The vegetarian Manchurian (dry) had a little bit of sauce but was moist on the inside. A property that is elemental to enjoying this dish bound by cornflour yet most restaurants in the US fail at it. 5. The breads were all fresh. The naan was 3/5 considering it wasnt the best. The tandoori roti and lachcha paratha were excellent. The stuffed onion kulcha was average though tasty. It might have just been a variation. 6. The dosa, idli and medu vada were all good. While the coconut and tomato chutney were excellent - the sambhar lacked depth to flavor and the taste of just a dal was dominant. 7. Chettinad paneer was fantastic. Now for the let-downs: Ironically, the avial and vegetable korma were terrible. The waiter should have warned us that we were ordering two dishes with basically the same gravies and flavor spectrum. This combination docked a star from my ratings for it. This restaurant is definitely expensive ($85 for two adults) though the food is unbeatable in the central jersey area over all. Now I just need to visit this place again to rate it for consistency.

The worst experience in US restaurant. The restaurant does not care about customers. Very rough talk by the restaurant guys. We were sitting in the restaurant and having food when the guys started taking away the buffet items. There were many food items which were empty when we entered the restaurant, the guys said they will refill them But later on they said the kitchen is closed. I do not understand how can the kitchen be closed while the customers are having their food. I do not know if that is lawfully allowed in a service industry. The restaurant keeps open till 3.30PM, however, the food is not refilled after 3PM. The manager said that is the rule that they do not refill after 3PM. If that is the case how can they keep the restaurant open till 3.30PM. Later on they started taking away the buffet setup and we were not finished by that time. I and my family(we were 5 people together) were astonished to see that while customers are in the restaurant they could take away the food. I think US gives lot of preference to customers. I do not understand how a erratic service provider like ARUSUVAI can do business in this country, a country which gives priority to customer service and experience. Though we paid the full amount, we were half full as we had not finished the lunch. Very bad experience. Strongly recommend "AVOID" as much as you can.
