Worst Indian food/buffet I have ever had. Buffet dishes looked dried out an hour after opening. The food made us ill. The staff was completely inattentive. We were ignored for a long time after we walked in, as the staff laughed and joked in the dining area. Even after we peeked around to make our presence known, they still ignored us and continued their laughter and galavanting. I have eaten at many Thai and Indian establishments, and always had a wonderful experience. These people were slovenly. The people who waited on me seemed like they couldnt be bothered. It took two of them just to figure out my iced tea order. And they didnt have lemonade, as it said on the online menu; I ordered an iced tea/lemonade, and the waiter stared at me blankly, not knowing or caring what I meant. I would recommend to anyone to stay away from this establishment. It gives a horrible reputation to Indian food and those who run reputable restaurants.

The ambiance of the restaurant is nice. Food is not even on par with many other resaurants available in New Jersey. Aangan on Rt 9 is much better than this establishment and is also Zagat rated. I have eaten at Aamantran regularly for the lunch buffet with co-workers and find the selection is always paltry. The Naan (along with some other dishes) are very good, but used to be excellent (maybe a chef change?). Dinner is overpriced and under portioned. The meat sampler appetizer dish came with about as much meat that a 5 year old could eat. The staff is usually courteous but not been at their best recently. I would suggest the lunch buffet, but would stay away from the overpriced and under portioned menu items. Try going to Oak Tree Road in Edison, NJ or Cinnamon on RT10 in Parsippany (Best indian food in NJ) for a real Indian experience.

If we could afford it, we would eat Indian Food everyday! This restaurant is one of the best by far when it comes to authentic Indian Food. My hubby and I are not into spicy so we always order the mild creamy dishes like the Chicken Korma and lots of Garlic Naan. The staff is pretty friendly too. We have been at least 10 times since moving to the area. I have eaten at many Indian Rest while studying in England and this is definitely comparable when it comes to authenticity. They are BYOB and they also have a buffet which we have yet to try, but we will. The lunch buffet price is reasonable and provides a nice variety to introduce you to the food if you have never had it. Do something different tonight and try some Indian food!! My hubby did and now he cannot get enough.

Worst restaurant of New Jersey. I havent experienced such a pathetic service & tasteless food in US. They dont know how to talk to customers. We ordered "Kadi Pakora" and it was awful. We complained to Manager about Kadi Pakora and he replied,"Nobody orders Kadi Pakora, you are the first one who ordered Kadi in months. We cant do anything." We asked for soup and requested them to put the soup in two bowls. Manager came & said "I will not split the soup in two bowl. I will give you extra bowl, do it yourself." On top of that, Manager started arguing with us. Talking to us so disrespectfully. You should never go there. I felt ashamed how an Indian guy was talking to another indian person in US.

I hate given such bad reviews especially when the food itself is so good! With that being said my Indian girlfriend and I came here today as a matter of fact. We sat and sat service sucked people came in much after ourselves and they were severed well before us I mean like 15 minutes before us. I personally feel it was discrimination and racism for the poor service because we are a white and Indian couple. Im repulsed by the poor quality of service and highly recommend that everyone find another Indian restaurant to do business with. I am personal disgusted. To top it off the owner was as unfriendly and arrogant as they come. No one needs or deserves to be treated this way!

Absolutely amazing. The food was DELICIOUS. The owner was super friendly. I actually was the only one to have any left over and later that night couldnt stop thinking about how I couldnt wait to have my leftovers for lunch the next day. We went for dinner at 5 on a Weds, and it was VERY quiet which was nice. We were the only ones on there. It picked up quite a bit soon after. It seemed like it took quite a bit of time to get your dishes (appetizers, entrees and dessert) so I wouldnt come if I were in a rush, but we werent rushing and each thing we tried was well worth the wait. Cant wait to go back!!!

We went to the lunch buffet 5/29/2012. The food was not quite average for an Indian buffet. They were very stingy with the Naan not wanting to refill after we finished the first load. My wife and I both commented on the way out, not wanting to upset each others meals that the place was filthy. Plates, silverware, tablecloth all just made you want to leave. I cringe thinking about how much non-food was in our lunches. The tandoori chicken was so overcooked that I could hardly get any of the meat off the bones. No chance were going to give it another try.

Food is awesome!!!! Its in a random strip mall and you will drive past it easily. Try a bunch of different dishes, but get extra naan!!! Theyll bring you a platter for a table of 4 but youll love dipping your naan in the different dishes that youre going to run out. Its also BYO so feel free to grab a bottle of wine. The prices were great too. Very reasonable for the amount of food we got! Each dish is prepared fresh so dont expect your food to come out in 2 minutes, but it also doesnt take forever.

After waiting 45 min, our order got delivered on table. Coconut rice can be rated 1. Ordered tamarind rice but we had to name the dish after they served. The hot and sour sauce, sorry it was hot and soya sauce, was horrible. Took gosht biryani to go.. Cant assume of eating it. The 1 rating is for Pulka and Daal. Thanks for Amantran and its management for the horrible dishes and treatment!

I have been here 3 different times with my wife for their Thursday night buffet. EVERYTIME they have had something different to offer and EVERYTIME their additions have been DELICIOUS! Both my wife and I have completely enjoyed the flavors and variety of this restaurant. I highly recommend this place. I have had good authentic Indian food, and this place does not disappoint.

Wife had dinner there and ordered $165.00 worth of takeout , the bill for both was $207.00. The meal eaten there was paid for to waiter $65.00. When she called to ask why bill was $207.00 the lying thief waiter said he took no cash from her. Also was given a tray of rice and paid for rice pudding. I,ll be posting this every night until they credit her card the $65.00.

I love this place! The food is excellent, place is very clean. Staff is very nice. I would also like to say that there is a mistake here. Also......They are closed on MONDAYS.... NEVER on Saturday!! I almost did not book my reservation for this evening due to the mistake on Google saying they were closed today. They are NOT CLOSED on Saturday!!
