My husband and I tried this place for the first time tonight. I love sushi and am always looking for places with high quality super fresh fish. Look no further for both cooked and raw seafood. The sushi was so fresh and tasty. The staff is eager to please and open to suggestions as to exactly how you want your food and your rolls-feel free to re-create your own favorite from another place or just make your own creation. They will do it with pleasure and then make sure that it was done correctly and/or to your liking. I felt bad when I saw 5 big scallops with vegetables and a little rice come out for my husband, but he loved every bit of it and has another meal leftover. We are big scallop fans. These were so fresh and so dense, he might as well have ordered a steak. The fresh tuna tataki appetizer is an ice cream scoop of one of the freshest tunas you have tasted. I could make a meal of this alone. All of this in a modern atmosphere indicative of a fancy night out, but still with a great looking sportsbar so theres something for everyone. The menu is extensive. Looks like weve just found our new favorite sushi place!

Note: My review is probably only relevant to fellow vegetarians, of which Im guessing there are approximately three in this part of NJ. If you order vegetable hibachi, it will be cooked on the same surface as the meat, with only the slightest of attempts at separation, so you have to decide how particular you are about this method of preparation. All hibachi orders come with the requisite iceberg lettuce salad, mushroom flavored broth, and fried rice (you can substitute white rice). The vegetable order ostensibly comes with silken tofu, onions, zucchini, and broccoli. Mine was heavy on soy sauce and onions, light on green vegetables. I counted three small broccoli pieces, one of which didnt make it onto my plate during the ceremonial flinging of the orders.

Yokohama serves uniformly fresh fish. The portions are pretty generous. The prices have gone up a bit over the past few years, but are still reasonable compared to sushi restaurants in Philly. Although there are no esoteric sushi offerings on the menu, they do the basic stuff quite well. I give Yokohama 4.5 stars out of 5 for food. I find the ambience quite nice, also 4.5 stars out of 5, since the makeover. Amy is the best waitress. Ive had sushi in Asia, LA, SF, NYC, Boston, Chicago, DC, and I know my sushi. Im Asian-American, and Ive eaten sushi since childhood.

I am one of the people that sees the owner every morning at my fish dock. He goes through all my boxes and selects only the freshest ones although he leaves the place a mess hes a great owner. Overall I been to his place finally and it is delicious. Let me tell all you sushi lovers one thing, everything there is definately fresh. I have been to Mikado and if you love sauce and rice and pay a premium then go there, if you like good food then go to yokohama

Yokohama will leave you with a new level of expectation when going out for a Japanese dining experience. This restaurant is a true family Owned and family Run restaurant. They hand select every piece of fish and take very much pride in what they serve to their customers. Every award this establishment has received (there are several) is well deserved on every level.

I have been eating at this restaurant for years and have never been disappointed. The sushi is always fresh, and the appetizers are always delicious. Prices are just a bit higher than some other comparable restaurants, but still within reason. Staff is polite and service is (what I would consider) a bit higher than average. Overall, I give this place 45 stars.

My wife and I have been coming here for years. They are one of the best Sushi restaurants in the area and they are reasonably priced. Weve also done the Hibachi with friends multiple times, it has always been tasty and fun. The curry udon is especially good, especially if you have a cold or allergies.

Service is exceptional. We come for the shushi and it is always an excellent experience. John, the shushi chef, made us his special which is delicious and beautifully prepared. The staff is extra friendly and remember us by name. Catherine and jojo are supper nice. We always come here for shushi.

Passable The fish was reasonably fresh Service was mediocre at best. The staff openly made fun of some customers and yelled across the room a lot. Dining space looked clean enough but was not comfortable to sit in. Dark and stuffy.

They are a fantastic hibachi place, Ive frequented hibachi restaurants from florida to NJ and this ranks up there in the top 2. The Price is maybe a couple bucks higher but for the quality its def worth trying again

We Went on my daughters birthday on Sunday June 26 ,2016. It was at a quiet time. We ate the Hibachi grill. It was great. The food was fresh and excellent. The services was just as good. Clean and very friendly

Many better options in South Jersey. Try Fuji in Haddonfield for starters. Most of the sauces seem watered down, and the sushi is just a step above what you would find in a supermarket. Skip this one.

Excellent as always. The Beauty and the Beast roll is tasty, as are the Sakura roll and the Dragon roll. Always great service without being overbearing. One of my favorite sushi restaurants.

Fantastic sushi, fantastic decor and style inside! Dont judge this restaurant by the rest of the stores nearby. The strip mall setup and Acme on the end cap sure throw off the expectations.

Consistently great food and service. Their fish is so fresh. If you get an opportunity, sit at the sushi bar and let the chefs do their thing. My favorite is when they have live scallops!

Excellent sushi and great hibachi. Took group of 12 for hibachi. Sushi was some of the best in the area. They have a bar but also allow BYOB with a small corking fee.

Very difficult to get seats. The first attempt to get a seat was unsuccessful. On the second attempt, made reservations and still was given a half hour wait!
