Seems like this place changes more and more every time we order from here. First couple of times, the food was amazing. The service has always been kind of crappy but the food kept us coming back. Unfortunately, our recent order has convinced us to look for a new Indian restaurant. We order the same food all the time, and this time everyones meal was really not that good at all. I mean the dishes are already very pricey and on top of that, they took forever to deliver, forgot some items, and the customer service seems to have no idea whats going on. You could hear everyone scrambling around looking for the missing items from my order. And I understand there may be some language barriers, but dont put people on the phone if they cant communicate with the customer. As a business owner, I love supporting other businesses, but Spice Rack needs to make some changes before I ever buy there again.

From the 1990s through the early 2000s, this area (Kendall Park, Franklin Park, North Brunswick all along Rt. 27 and Rt. 1) had a growing number of good classic Indian restaurants. Then they started to be replaced by South Indian and specialty gimicky Indian restaurants and what I could only call Indian fast food. Its good to have a delicious, classic Indian restaurant back in the area. I cant say its the best Ive ever had, but its as good as Id expect to find in Edison or Jersey City. The dishes are wonderfully aromatic. The staff (largely the owning family) are very pleasant and attentive without being obsequious. Ive only had Indian, not Indian Chinese here, but everything Ive ordered has been good to very good, if not inspired.

Food is pricey and taste is less than OK. I dont mind paying more for delicious food but the food we ordered was bland. Masala Papad: OK - I have had better with more tomatoes and onions Pesto Naan - Good - This was new, a little too buttery Paneer Makhani & Lucknow Paneer - Both tasted bland, seems like they just added a lot of food coloring and ketchup to the gravy Rice - Cheap - I dont know how one can mess up rice but there is no other word to describe it. Overall, a total disappointment. Ive had a lot better food at Guru Palace and Mithaas. Service: less than stellar. Staff was not attentive at all. I understand that when its busy but Sunday at 2-3pm... I dont understand it.

I could not have asked for a better dining experience. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful, and I could not have asked for better service. The food was delicious and as an indian american, I have some extensive experience with Indian Fusion dining. I can surely say that Spice Rack is some of the best food I have had and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to those interested in trying Indian food for the first time (just ask them to spice accordingly) or those who have tried indian food numerous times. All in all my dining experience was great and I could not have asked for more.

Even is the food is good I wouldnt have had a chance to taste it. The manager told us 20 min wait for a table of 4. After 30 min we asked on the status of our table and he rudely gave us a non-answer. After finally getting seated we ordered our entrees. After 1 hour of waiting for our food, we started to complain to the waiters who again treated us poorly. After making a fuss they brought our food out and it was dead cold. They had simply forgot to serve us. As we got up to leave the manager was again incredibly rude as we told him of our food. I can only hope that they replace the management.

Went to this place with high hopes.. Absolutely worse experience.. The food was worse than average. We ordered a bunch of stuff including chiness bhel they do not how to make it Punjabi food never ever order they do not whats is spice food and mideam spice food. After complaining to the chef he said this is how we make it. The other food was also oily and after coming home me and my wife both had a mild upset stomach. The place is also quite expensive and does not at all deserve the kind of prices they are charging. I would skip this place and never ever go back .

pretty awful food, read the great reviews here and ordered take out, tandoori chicken I cant comment on that as I dont eat meat, my daughter seemed to like it. ordered alu korma got mixed veggie something and the carrots were like rubber and something smelled off in the whole dish, like spoiled veggies or something. garlic naan, did not feel fresh made, they seemed to be frozen naans put in the oven and sprinkled with garlic and oil. fried rice was ok..no complaints but nothing special either. will not go back

Food was good.. not extra ordinary, plus the place is chaotic. Service is horrible. I wouldnt go back even if the food was good. They treat their customer very poorly. Crew started to clean table while we were still eating. The waiter kept on pestering us to leave since theyre were busy. He kept on coming back for bill and when asked to wait till we finished eating, he got upset and his voice was raised!!! I dont believe in paying more for getting treated like this.

Food is good. Service is good but charging me tip automatically is absurd. I was with two kids. One 4 the other 2 and they said they automatically charge me a tip for a party of 5 or more. What?? I didnt know we were in NYC and at some high end restaurant. We r in South Brunswick. Amazing. I was going to tip them regardless but enforcing it really put me off. I guess some owners cant pay their staff enough.

This was our go to place for sometime. The food was excellent and the ambience great. Lately this place has been too crowded in the evenings to be able to enjoy a good meal. Its become way noisier and chaotic at some levels. Wouldnt recommend if you are looking for a peaceful meal with family. Quality of food has taken a downturn as well, I suspect mainly because of the unending rush.

Took my wife out for Valentines dinner. Considering the occasion the place was super crowded however we were seated on time as per our reservation. The service was up to the mark and the food was typical Indo Chinese. We loved the food and the overall dining experience. Would love to revisit this place in future. Kudos to the staff for handling efficiently on such a busy evening.

We have ordered from them several times and each time not only their quantity seems to change, but their attitude as well. The paneer shashlik item today came as 4.5 pieces (all cut into smaller) pieces and it is normally 6 whole pieces. The one guy who also answers the phone is also quite rude. We always order from here and the quality keeps going down.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!! I PLACED AN ONLINE ORDER 40 MINUTES IN ADVANCE. GOT TO THE RESTAURANT AND THE LADY TOOK A PHONE CALL IN FRONT OF MY FACE PRIOR TO ACKNOWLEDGING ME. THEN TOLD ME SHE HAD NO ONLINE ORDER. SHE THEN PULLED MY PRINTED ORDER AND SAID OH YA HERE IT IS..." 5 MINUTES" BULLSHIT!! AFTER WAITING. GET MY ORDER and ITS WRONG! NEVER COMING BACK
