Ive eaten at Avanzare several times, the most recent being May 30, on the occasion of my daughters birthday. Her steak was perfectly cooked, my chicken marsala, also perfectly cooked, though rather bland. It didnt have that "kick" I associate with a marsala wine sauce. The mashed potatoes, also good, were not as presented on the menu. They were plain, not pesto potatoes, which I had looked forward to. But the main reason for the three star review is because it was impossible to converse due to the extreme noise level. In order to be heard across the table we had to yell. Not an exaggeration. Dinner for us began at 6:30 on a Saturday evening, and we left at 8:30. LONG wait for dessert, the apple tart, which was quite good. Not a restaurant I recommend if you want an intimate dining experience or conversation with who you are dining with.

Weve gone to Avanzares for the last three years on our anniversary. Every time the food and service has been outstanding - oddly enough weve had the same waiter (Ben) all three times and hes extremely good at what he does. Unfortunately this will be our last year going simply because its SO noisy. We were unable to have any conversation - and when I spend $175 on a dinner with my wife I expect to be able to talk to her. If you go, make sure you get a seat as far back in the restaurant as you can but expect it to still be very noisy. I certainly dont regret going there the last three years but I think next year well go to Nicolas Ristorante.

For a cozy, romantic restaurant this place was so noisy you couldnt talk to your date...the lighting was so dim you could barely read the menu...and their "special" was priced higher than anything on the menu. The appetizers were good but our dinner was poorly prepared, overseasoned, undercooked, the leftovers barely worth taking home to our boxer! Was very disappointed in our romantic night out for my birthday and when spending over a hundred dollars for dinner for two in this area a decent meal is not too much to expect!!! WILL NOT BE GOING BACK!!!

The other negative reviews are due to the noise level which I do agree with even though we are sitting in the best spot noise. The problem is however that we set for 20 to 30 minutes before our first requested appetizer came 20 minutes later a side salad came and its now been over an hour their food is not on the table. Its Friday night and our waiter said they werent expecting to be this busy period very confusing because this place takes reservations on the weekends

My first time at the restaurant was 2 years ago. I was in town for the day. I had lasagna for lunch and it was delicious. Today I had rigatoni buttera. I loved the crunch of the peas. But the bread, the baggette, is the Best I have ever had! The consistency of the inside is perfect and I have been to some of the finest restaurants in Europe and US. No one compares. The ambiance and service is also fabulous. Wish I lived closer. Thank you!

I have been to Avanzare 3 times now and each time it gets better and better. Everything about this place is amazing from the service to the food. I have yet to find a place with food as good as Avanzare, a great credit to the Chef and the staff for a job well done. If you are planning a special night out and dont mind paying a little more for excellent food and service this is your place. Well Done Avanzare!!!!

Abbondanza! This was the BEST meal I have had since moving to the Ozarks 7 years ago. Exquisitely prepared,very personable service from our server Mollie,and a fine dining room all combined for a most wonderful experience . The chef-owner Tony made me feel that I was in Northern Italy from the antipasto course all the way to the dolce. I cant wait to return for another scrumptious meal.

I like the food. But everytime I order something its different from the time before. Consistency is key. So I never know what Im getting when I place a pick up order, which is what I do during the week to eat during my lunch break. Prices are always different too, Ive ordered the exact same pasta dishes one day, paid $24 then 2 days later I ordered the exact same things and it was $38.

Most definitely one of the best restaurants in Springfield, and definitely mine and my husbands favorite place to go. We came for our engagement celebration, our one day honeymoon we could take, and Valentines Day, and his birthday. We will always come here for special days when we can afford it while we are living here in Springfield. Fully recommend.

Excellent quality fesh ingredients and food at a chef owned wonderful gem you wouldnt expect in Springfield. Seared scallops & lobster tail were cooked perfectly, which says a lot on its own. Delicious! And we are picky foodie cooks from Louisiana! Only thing that could have been better would be if they could do something to reduce the noise level.

Our first time here, celebrating our anniversary. Food was impeccable! We went for lunch. Had appetizers, bread, salad & brought 1/2 our entree home. You get plenty! It was relaxed atmosphere so dont be in a hurry to get served & run. Sit back & enjoy....

The food was really good. I attended a meeting in a small room towards the back. 1 waitress....exceptional. Mussels, Bruscetta, Calamari and my Rib Eye....awesome!!! Definitely going back on my own time fore dinner...I would recommend this place highly

This place was top notch...the food was cooked to perfection...service was excellent, extensive wine selection and full bar...Linguini Avanzare with Alfredo sauce was amazing...definately became my number one choice for Italian food...great job guys

This place is very good, with very authentic Italian food that has a very good taste. Really, Ive been to Italy before. They also have the best calamari that I have ever tasted, except in Italy. Overall, this restaurant is very good.

very nice atmosphere, and friendly staff. the bartender was awesome, and waiter was attentive, even though he was slammed. The pollo parmigiano was the best Ive had. try it with Alfredo rather than marinara if you dare.

One of the best restaurants in town, nice atmosphere, the food is not very authentic Italian, too much sauce and flavor overloads. But this is what people here like... I enjoyed it, the wine list is good too. will go back

Great place to watch a game late night! Great food too. The chefs are very talented and hard-working. Their kitchen is in broad view to the guests! Good place to go if you are interested in a romantic date-night.
