Ah, the Chianti Grill. Charging Minneapolis prices for east side food. I would guess it’s to pay for their new fancy building in Roseville. Which much like there food tries to be fancy but is really a cheap facade covering up plain and ordinary. There is nothing remarkable about their food, it is not even close to the level of Maggiano’s, Tucchi Benucch, or Buca, however it will cost you just as much if not more, and you get less, much less. The food is about as basic as you can get, and really not that good. I have tried about 5 dishes there and I can’t really say I have a favorite. Their Lasagna is bad and either comes cold in the middle or mouth burning hot (way to hot, it’s dangerous) also comes lacking real flavor, all you really taste is the tomato sauce. I have had to send mine back due to being cold in the middle twice, and my replacement was one overcooked. The spicy chicken penne is good, but it’s one Chicken breast cut, Penne, Pesto and some red peppers. Worth about 8.99, and that’s pushing it, however its $14.99!!!! I would never buy any of their meat entrees again, for the money it’s no better than any steak chain. I will save my 30 bucks and put it to a visit to Manny’s or Capital Grill. Really, either to it right or don’t. I have also tried their Mostaccioli, it was the worst dish I have had their, way to watery, nothing mixed well at all, it also is overpriced at 13.99. The chicken parm is just average, and for some reason $17. There is a theme here, they say they have a “Chef”, but I think they just gave a white coat to someone. If not, really, get a new one. It’s like you haven’t even seen what real Italian food is. Sometimes you can justify larger meal prices if the perks with the meal are good, say salad and bread. However it comes with a run of the mill salad, basically not even trying. Often you get browning lettuce. You also get some cold hard bread to start with butter. It’s like they haven’t ever been to Maggiano’s which give you piping hot bread with olive oil and balsamic that melts in your mouth. The deserts are like the rest of the food – Obvious, expensive, underwhelming. Quite possibly the worst Tiramisu I have had out dining. Maybe all you need in this state is a fancy building and people flock in for this crap, that’s a depressing thought. Who dreams of running a restaurant that is just “average at best”? The people at Chianti Grill do, and their “Chef”. To top it all off, out of the few times I have been there I have had the wrong bill twice. Magically I had a bottle of wine added to my tab and another cocktail that just wasnt mine. I was told the manager “thought” we had purchased them. In one incident after undercooked food I was offered free desert but only 2 of the 7 options. Crème brûlée, and Tiramisu – the cheapest options. Thanks, really, don’t put yourself out. I am sure you have rent to pay.

I went with my mom and sister out to the roseville mall and decided to try chianti on the way there. Me and my sister both like italian and after seeing the wesite I was expecting much more. We went for lunch and the food was a couple buck cheaper making the prices only fair. I got the lasagna bolognese and It was pretty greasy. The water was a cool guy but even for lunch he couldnt keep up on all the tables.....so I sat for a while with an empty soda glass. It wasnt his fault it was really a staffing problem. Maybe they have a better act for dinner? but if you are looking for a meal in a timely fashion during the slowes part of the day I would not recommend it. Were sticking with Romanos macaroni grill until further notice. Pros = Lunch price reasonable Cons = greasy lasagna, understaffed -Try Macaroni Grill instead-

Sunday brunch is DELICIOUS!!! My friend and I came here for sunday brunch. WOW. They have an omelet station you put everything you want to go into the omelet in a small bowl (choose from italian sausage, gr peppers/tomatoes, bacon, mushrooms, garlic, ham, and your choice of chedder, mozz, or both cheeses) and give it to the chef. BEST OMELET IN MY LIFE! One side of the buffet is breakfast, the other side lunch, and in the middle desert section. They had potatoes, bacon, eggs benedict, waffles, sausage, scrambled eggs, watermelon, pineapple, cantelope, salads, muffins, cookies, cinn rolls, fish, and a couple pasta dishes. Everything was absolutely delicious. for the buffet and 3 of the most wonderful mimosas ever my bill was $26. STEAL! Our waiter was an older gentleman who was very friendly and helpful.

I have visited Chianti Grill several times with great experiences. Tonight was not the same. Do not order the Seafood Cannelloni....just frozen shrimp and scallops that are dime sized at best. I was still optimistic but they had no flavor either....We told the server that it wasnt too impressive but she charged us anyways for the full amount. I work in the industry so Im not one to complain too much, but I know you NEVER charge people for something they dont eat based on quality. Meanwhile there was a man, probably a corporate manager of sorts, who stood nearby and was determined to hold up the wall and stare people down. He never smiled or assisted any tables.....very creepy. However, he didnt miss any of the sports highlights!

Pleasantly surprised by the great service and delicious food. The ambiance was also nice. Even though it is a large restaurant, it still felt intimate with the dark woods and booth seating. The entrees include a side choice of vegetable, spaghetti, fettuccine or potato. Soup or salad and bread is also included with the meal. My husband ordered a steak and I got a chicken dish. We noticed we were thirsty the next morning as both meats could have been injected with something for plumpness and juciness. That would be my only critique. Drink lots of water with the meal and after. Besides that, I would come back and eat here again.

I would give the place 3-1/2 stars if Google had this option, as I didnt really have a bad experience here. Have had the steak and Chicken Alfredo dishes a couple of times. Food is good but not great. One of the steak dinners I had came to me undercooked (medium rare or rare medium it was supposed to be medium). Price doesnt seem to quite match the reviews given to this place. Tried a portion of the beef tenderloins from my friend and tasted very good. Not sure if they do better with smaller cut steaks, but could be. Appetizers: Good Entrees: Good Service: Good Desert: Average Price: Moderately to over-priced

We had a wonderful experience tonight at Chianti Grill in Roseville. Marco was our server and he did a fantastic job! We were clelbrating our moms Birthday and my sister had her 2 girls with ages 3 and 20 months and he interacted with them so well. The food was delivered in a very timely fashion and all entrees served at the same time. I had the walleye which was awesome (aside from a few small pin bones.) My only negative comment would be the price was a bit on the high end, but the service and taste more than made up for it. I will be going back!
