About six weeks before our wedding rehearsal , we thought we would make reservations for the dinner (18 people). We wanted it on a Friday, since that was the night before our wedding. Any place with a "banquet room" wanted $100.00 JUST to use the room, plus, a LOT more $ for a few lame appetizers and some other items. So we thought we would check into regular restaurants in Hastings, for reservations. We could not find a place that would accommodate such a large group on a Friday, even with reservations. Then I found Bella Vista online and gave them a call. Jennifer immediately said she would make it work. And she did. She got our budget, what types of food we were interested in. The night of, we were seated quickly, the atmosphere was so modern, clean and elegant. Jennifer had printed cute, special menus just for our event, a really nice touch. Our server was fun, quick, attentive but not overly "in your face". The food was incredible. Calamari was amazing, the bruschetta was super yummy, awesome drinks, FANTASTIC chicken marsala, and everyone LOVED all of the food. The best part? The whole thing was so much more affordable than WAY less elegant places in Hastings (think chain restaurants and icky bars). I should have written this earlier, but have been too busy. But I could miss the chance to rave about this place, the way they went out of their way for us, it was just such a great experience. We will be back and recommend Bella Vista to everyone!

Good at first now not worth the price. The creamy balsamic salad no longer has the smooth creamy balsamic that I liked before. It now is so bitter that it made my mouth hurt. We had the artichoke dip. The flavor was good but it had separated and was very oily. I ordered the vodka penne with chicken. When I bit into the chicken it bounced back like a rubber band! YUCK! Also, I am pretty sure that vodka sauce is suppose to be cooked with tomato sauce or paste. This dish had a white almost broth like sauce. Not the nice pink color that I would associate with "vodka sauce". Definately not the vodka penne I had the last time I visited. I sent it back and decided I would eat my own cooking when I get home. On the other hand... My son had the lasagna and when I tried it. It was good! My other son had pizza which was also good. I would have given one or two stars but the service was good and my food was the only negative. I most likely will not return.

WOW, I am amazed at how the owner of this place just cant figure it out. In the Last few years this place has been Italian, Mexican and now... I dont know, American, Mexican, Italian? So they have failed at Italian because of pour food quality, failed at Mexican because of the same and now changed the name again and added some burgers... Still poor quality. Nice new patio but looks at dumpsters and the smell from them is just as bad as they look. To the owner, you can not serve pe-cooked, pre-maid food and expect people to enjoy it. You have a good location, but need to pick something and do it well, not put on all of your failures on the menu and expect it to work. I am so disappointed. Take the money you spend remodeling/Rebranding and hire a qualified executive Chef (not a line cook) to run your kitchen and you will succeed.

My guy and I try to find new places to dine around our local area and have found that not all places are as good as want to claim. But Bella Vista IS! :-) It now ties with our favorite other restaurant for scrumptious food and great service. Im not a stuffed pepper person by a long shot, but their Pappedeaux Peppers are spectacular! Their bruchetta actually does beat our other favorite. :-( And the rest of the food is light yet keeps the old world flavor everyone knows and loves to be Italian. I would definitely recommend this as a close to, go-to place for atmoshere, food and great prices not to mention better parking than some of the restaurants within the city. :-)

Clean and presentable when walking into this establishment. Staff was courteous and well maintained. Even though there was not an open table at all during our visit during Rivertown days festivities. The only gripe that I could come up with is that the hostess was wearing a long shirt as a garment for the day. Though it was conservative, it reminded me too much of pajamas. After about a 45 minute wait for our food, I would say that the food was decent. I had the standard burrito while my wife had the lunch spaghetti and my daughter had the kids burger with cheese. All in all great atmosphere with good staff. Just wish the food would have arrived at a bit more quickly.

My Husband & I went to Bella Vista for our Wedding Anniversary and let me tell you.... The appetizers were awesome. The entrees were a refreshing choice to choose from. The food presentation was very appealing and delectable and the wine list was the best Ive seen in a long time. All of the staff was very pleasant and friendly (even the bartenders :)) Bella is fabulous! You go girl. There is no better way to learn social skills and a work ethic, then being home schooled and hands on. My best to all. Well be back soon.

Love, love, LOVE the sophisticated and cozy atmosphere this restaurant gives. The entire staff seems to genuinely enjoy working there and were able to answer all questions my husband and I asked about the drink, entree and dessert menus. The suggestions given by our friendly waitress were spot on, and the food was served timely and hot. We will continue to frequent this quaint restaurant for many date nights to come. Thank you so much for the great addition you add to the Hastings community. ~Jim & Amy Rose

Soooo disappointing! The outdoor seating area is wonderful...unfortunately, everything went downhill from there. We waited over an hour from the time our appetizer was served to getting our entrees - our server forgot to put our order in. Ok, so mistakes happen.... however, we also sat at our table with empty wine glasses for 30 minutes. My Bloody Mary was served without any type of garnishments what so ever - I had to ask for olives and a straw..... the food was average, at best.

Lovely spot, great patio over looking the Mississippi river, in lovely downtown Hastings. Blended cuisine menu that features American, Mexican & Italian dishes. Food was nice portion sizes & cooked well. The atmosphere is clean & has a little cozy vibe that is reminiscent of a modern uptempo bistro. The drink selections were in keeping with the rest of the vibe. Charming service! So personable! Went back for another visit and even more pleased than before #awesome

Wow, the People of Hastings have a real Gem here. I had the fajitas and the beef and shrimp were fantastic. But, lets not forget the salsa, home made and probably the best I have had here in the area! They also have fresh brewed Tea, nearly impossible to find in the Midwest. I live in Lakeville and will certainly make the half hour drive back to eat here. Service was fantastic, the owner was great, super friendly.

Food was adequate, not anything to write home about. The bowl my pasta came in was narrow and deep which made it tedious to have to reach up and over from the low seating and high table. The interior looks like a college girls pinterest board. The service was mediocre, slow and unreliable for filling drinks and taking orders. Given how few tables were seated they should have been more prompt and attentive.
