A BIG NO TO ALL THE PEOPLE WHO LOVE SPICES AND GOOD FOOD AND THE PRICES ARE OMG!!! Please take a look at the menu and prices before you plan to go. I would say the worst experience I ever had in the USA, I recently came to united states and I have been to couple of indian restaurants around me this was horrible not because they serve bad food. But the service was awful, we have ordered for a mixed dinner buffet at it comes with a chicken, lamb and a fish curry for $28. I do not want to talk about the taste of it, cos Im from the land of nawabs and I have had best dishes in my life. I would say a big no to all the food lovers of Indian because the way they cook would be loved by people who are low on INDIAN spices for example americans would love it. Because here you get BIRIYANI with dry fruits in it but they also add RAISIN to it. I would never comment on the cooking style everyone has unique thought. I would want to point this out, in my dinner thali which I order had 3 curry. Out of all the worst ones FISH curry was the even worst, The way it was brought to me was, someone intensionally or unknowingly or that is how they cook I do not know but it was completely filled water. I mean water was floating on top of curry. When I show it to the guy around, I just got an answer sorry and he left. After that I was being annoyed every single minute, "ARE YOU DONE WORKING WITH YOUR PLATE" should I remove the plate. I was actually planning for a desert and by the time he came up with a "check". While I was finishing my dinner, a guy comes with vacuum cleaner and cleans your surrounding table. The bad part was, I was having raita which was just awesome and I could feel the hot air coming from Vacuum cleaner on my cheek so all this is because I see that they were about to close the restaurant and that is why they were in a hurry. Guess what I was at this restaurant on a FRIDAY night and I could hardly see 3 people in it and that explains everything. Guys a big no for this, I felt so bad I cannot tell, leave about the taste but the service should be improved and before you go to the restaurant look the prices in the meny

Talk about hospitality, customer service, quality of food, class and respect towards customers. I absolutely love this place. This is probably my second favorite restaurant in St Louis area. The owners work themselves. Usually Husband Cooks and the Wife helps customers. She has a great personality. Shes always there when I go in and is always welcoming. Shes right to the point with the taste for recommendations. If I am trying something new, she always tells me that if I dont like it shell replace it for free. The quality of food is fresh, unique...always beats my expectations. One thing I really like about this place is that usually in Indian/Pakistani restaurants, the Chef over powers the food with spices and you can never taste the meat/vegetables. Not here. They use balanced spices so when you eat Lamb , it tastes like Lamb while you can feel the spices in your mouth at the same time. Thats called Quality. They also dont put too many Vegetables. Always a good portion of Vegetables and Meat. The decor of the restaurant is nice. Furniture is good quality and always clean. The big windows make you feel welcomed. The staff is always well-dressed. I cannot think of anything negative about this place. Last time I was there, a customer was upset because the restaurant closes at 9PM and if you come after 8:30PM you can only take a To go order. It sounds fair. The customer was pretty upset about it. You dont walk into a restaurant 10 minutes before they close, have some class and common courtesy. If you are a fan of Indian/Pakistani cuisine......this is the place to go. Thanks!

Not good AT ALL! Unsatisfactory customer service. My bf and I came in today for the lunch buffet and will never again return! The food is ok, nothing to rave about. The selection is nothing to brag about as well. By no means am I trying to say that Im a food expert, but I have tasted better Indian food at other establishments. We arrived there thinking we had plenty of time to eat but by the time we got our first plate of food they were already shutting down the buffet. Nobody gave us a warning that they were closing the buffet, not even our nonexistent server. When we came up to the front desk to ask why they food was gone, the owner said that they were closing! To our surprise we asked why they would even seat us after closing and then not even tell us the buffet was closing as well. If we had known, we wouldnt have even eaten there. The owner "apologized" and then started to get all defensive and riled up. She actually raised her voice at us and said "now what do you want me to do!", "Ive apologized so now what!". AND she said that she felt like she was being attacked! ATTACKED???!!! Are you serious? We just came up to her to tell her what happened and hopefully she would learn from her mistake and make sure it doesnt happen again to future patrons. Like I said, we will NEVER again go there and never will I recommend this place to anyone.

We usually travel 25-30 min for great Indian cuisine, at least 1x/ month- usually more. No more. Now we have an option. Dined at Taj last night- amazing flavor and spices in everything and the tenderest and tastiest tandoori style chicken to date! 3 of us enjoyed everything we ordered and the service by the owners was gracious, courteous and attentive. She even to the time to tell me that tandoori takes a little longer- which it didnt seem to,since we had appetizers. We enjoyed Onion kulcha, Nan, ?Reshmi chicken, curry chicken , lamb tikka masala and baingan Bhartha ( eggplant). I am sitting here enjoying my leftovers the next day. Finally, greatIndian cuisine in Chesterfield! Used a $5.00 dinner coupon easily too ( on back of Dierbergs receipt). Lighter, cleaner flavors than several other restaurants we have enjoyed- you can smell the fabulous aromas in the parking lot and when you enter- a great indication of FLAVORFUL food at an ethnic restaurant. Ignore those bad reviews below- I did and happy I did! You will be too.

We just started living in Chesterfield and eat here quite regularly. The food is all of your normal mainstream Indian restaurant, but I wouldnt let that put you off, as the quality is consistently good. The Taj Palace restaurant is in attractive property in the middle of the valley. It is always my top choice when I have to dine-in with my better half(candle light dinner dinner is ++). The service is good on the whole and the staff are helpful, the owner(amazing chef) and his wife(wonderful lady) is doing a great job and they go extra mile when it comes to customer service. High quality food, efficient, friendly service. Always reliable and consistent. In have tried all the Indian restaurants in St.Louis and this is far the best. Dont miss the "RASHGULLA" when your sweet tooth strikes after dinner.

Excellent. Ive gone here for dinner a number of times and Im never disappointed. The food is always fantastic and the service is wonderful. I can heartily recommend everything from masala tea to the various types of nan to the tandoori lamb (my current favorite). I dont know if they recognize us (were not there THAT often) or what, but on several occasions theyve even given us a free desert or a complimentary appetizer, but beyond that the staff are always friendly and attentive. The prices are reasonable and inline with the competition. The atmosphere is both cozy and modern and though the dining room seems small it never feels crowded even when its mostly full.
