Worst customer service I have ever experienced from a restaurant. My husband and I came here for dinner yesterday and we are in the process of moving, so we ordered 2 separate meals to go so we can have it for tomorrow. He ordered a lamb curry and I ordered a paneer tikka to go. At the restaurant I had an egg makhani and my husband had a chicken dish. So today we are very tired from packing and opened our to go bag and it must be our fault for trusting him with the correct order. He just packed left over egg dish and some rice. Nothing we ordered was in our bag. We paid a $75 total yesterday for food we did not even receive. He even put himself a 18% gratuity. We called and tried to explain and he called us liars. I told him I can bring him exactly what he wrapped up for us and he said " I did give you what you ordered paneer and lamb curry why you lying? " And hung up on me. What terrible customer service.

We are no experts on the subject of Indian food, but I will tell you what we experienced. We have eaten here both buffets style and regular meal. *service: timely and thorough *ambiance: quiet, beautifully bright orange, very clean *food: fantastic. I had goat vindaloo, curried lamb, mutter paneer, chicken curry, meatballs, masala, etc. The only thing I wouldnt recommend ordering so far is the tandoori. *Starches: naan bread is very plain and good. If you do the regular dining, the rice served seems to have pistachio and cardamom. Man that was awesome rice. I suggest you take a pinch of candy on the way out, which seems to be very small rocks of mint candy mixed with fennel seed. Delicious. We WILL be returning for many more visits to Ashoka. I know it might be a slightly difficult location to find, but trust me, if you like to experience flavours and sensations, its worth seeking out.

Chef Ashoka is amazing we have been there 2 times a week since they opened, lunch and dinner. I have very demanding dietary needs and he makes special dishes that make it much easier to tolerate. I love the eggs Makhani without the yokes, if there were ten stars I would give it ten, the spinach is good too. My husband is hooked on Malai Kofta and Rogan Josh. Actually any lamb dish he has. Our super picky daughter has butter chicken every time sometimes with chicken sometimes without, sometimes with eggs. She likes all the bread and Rita. Taking friends tomorrow. If you get to know Ashokas history you will understand why he is soooooo good. Enjoy.

Worst service. The management is very rude. When I called the place to place an order, I asked them about a coupon I had which is a $25 off for purchases made more than $50. He said its an old coupon and we have different coupons now. When checking the coupon, it had mentioned that there was no expiry date on it. So I asked him why is it not accepted as I had paid to get the coupon. These were his exact words. "y u people always ask about coupon. If no coupon u wont eat?" And hung up the phone. I am never ordering from there, ever. On the bottom left of this picture u can see it says "does not expire"

It was early evening, so I was in the mood to have samosa chat and lassi instead of a full-course meal. When I drank lassi, it seemed that it was gone bad. When I told the owner about Lassi, he got angry at me started shouting everyone appreciates my lassi, how can you say it has gone bad. And then he said "Who does not buy a full-course meal after visiting a restaurant". It was very unpleasant for a restaurant owner (old man) to say so. He does not respect his customers. I am never going there again.

This place is a great place to go for Indian food. Their sauces a thick, with generous proportions that can be shared family style very easily. The flavors are fragrant and rich, with a particularly good Butter Chicken. They run a buffet for lunch during the weekdays and have plates at night like most Indian restaurants. I have only had amazing food and service at this particular establishment.

Rude and Bony. Im a big guy, but when a idiot tells you to look at your stomache and that you aught to go to the Gym or something, hes lucky I am a nice guy. Ordered goat kabob, now that is bony, dont know how he could even get a stick through some pieces there was so much bone. What I could eat ( maybe 3 odd) was tender, boiled like tender. Go elsewhere.

Absolutely delicious! I feel so fortunate to have this amazing restaurant right down the road from my house! Ive become quite addicted and stop in for carryout often. I have yet to dine in, but plan to soon for a "date night" with my husband. I highly recommend Ashoka Palace to any lovers of fine Indian cuisine.

Horrible experience. We ordered 2 meals to go and we were only given one and it wasnt even what we ordered. We called them and they said we were lying. Update. Ashoka called me and admitted they gave us the wrong order and gave us what we did order the next day.

Best Indian Food in St Louis. Had Kadhai Paneer, Dal makhni, Malai Kofta, garlin naan, onion naan, raita, lassi and everything was great to my surprise. Also met chef/owner and hes been doing this for last 20 years and really knows how to cook delicious food.

The spread is limited, but is worth the money you pay. The person in charge is friendly. I liked the food, especially the desserts (there was jamoon when I visited). The place is off Dorsett road, right next to the Maryland Heights community center.

Great food and cheaper than the other places in the area! I cant claim to be an expert on Indian food but I loved my goat curry and my wifes butter chicken was amazing! My daughter enjoyed their mild chicken and rice as well. We will be going back!

Got bad stomach after having his food. The Old man cannot be trusted. I was charged extra and he hoped that he can earn more, however we caught him cheating leaving him with shut mouth. He even does not have any respect for customers.

The food was great--hot and fresh, spiced just right (we asked for "medium".) The prices are more reasonable than at local competitors. Service was fine—Mr. Ashoka was very nice. Will be back for more.

Went to the lunch buffet, was delicious. The only thing thats keeping them from a 5 stars, is the selection at the lunch buffet. Tldr service and food were great, selection was lacking

It was so sad to see such bad reviews of this place. You shouldnt steal from customers. They pay you for your services, thats why your shop runs. It is so sad and horrible experience.

Very tasty! Weve been there twice now and the dinner was much better than the lunch buffet. A bit expensive for what you get. Meat was tender and delicious.
