I had a bad experience there. I was just there today and my waiter was just mean. I got my braces rewired 2 days ago and was hoping to get some green curry soup (with my friend) but they only had one with noodles. I got it! Green curry is a sweet yet thick soup. However I didnt get a soup.... I got a extra thick green curry over pho noodles.... It BASICALLY WAS A PASTE... Was NOT Ideal at all... Im very disappointed. I asked for an exchange without noodles, but she said they did not have that.... I asked if I can switch my dish for something else... Because my dish was untouched and my teeth were sentative, she wont allow that and walked away. Me and my guy friend completely stopped eating... We were both culinary students trying out new places, however I do not recommend this place to my family or friends. I paid full price with our food untouched and left it at our table. To Chefs, who were cooking that dish represents a disappointment to themselves and the resturant.

Weve been to many Thai restaurants in the twin cities, including all the trendy ones with fancy slogans. Lao Thai by far has the best Pad Thai in town, and for a very small price (I think the entry point was around $8). Also excellent is the Squid and Basil. To die for! But get the Pad Thai first. We regularly get take out from this place, always good and fresh. Like some other reviewers, I agree that looks are a negative, but the food makes up for it.

Love the food here. And if you get this particular guy to serve you (dont know his name), you will definitely get great service. They have daily specials. I especially love going in on Thursdays for the special of the day, kapoon (curry noodles). I always have to get Thai style papaya salad along. I have had their other dishes and believe me, delicious. Its Thursday today. I might just go in for todays special ^_^

Dropped into this restaurant one night by myself, Just had some fried rice and an egg roll.. Thought the atmosphere of the place was very calming.. I think there was music in the background.. Very good food. Staff was very kind an attentive. The owners painted the outside of the building since I was there last.. - all and all a great place to eat.

Like the name implies, its a nice, neighborhood, family-run restaurant. The guy who served me was awesome and very friendly. The pad Thai was good too. Some of the dishes like the lab essan are more traditional, so be sure you ask whats in them if you dont know, not all ingredients are listed on the menu.

This place was very cool. The waiter was engaging, made recommendations, the food was good and arrived at the right temperature. Parking is a bit limited. I would go there again and plan on it in the near future. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are more than enough. Try it you will like it.

Closed on Mondays. Try the Chicken Pad Thai (stir-fry noodles) And the Oyster Beef (beef and broccoli) My FAVS The BEST in frog town! Possibly any where else. Theyre nothing like the BUFFET beef and broccoli and ORIGINAL shrimp paste pad thai. THEYRE BETTER and DELICIOUS! Im an addict, BTW.

Red chicken curry with dark meat was superb. Chicken full of flavor and a tasty dish as served, full of flavor. I wanted some fire with my flavor. The hot oil at the table tool this over the top providing the extra spice I craved. Service was great, with many prompt water refills.

most of the time the food is very good. Pad thai is usually what i get for lunch here. Though they arent very consistent and sometimes it is down right bland. When eating someplace is hit or miss it makes it hard to want to come back and spend money. Staff is very friendly though.

Love this place, love the pho especially the raw bitter laab(#1). Service is great, theres a male waiter there thats super talkative and super friendly, we enjoy his company everytime me and my husband go there. My favorite restaurant of all other restaurant.

This is my favorite Vietnamese/Thai restaurant in MN. Ive been to most of the places in Frog town and I like this one the most. Try #32 seafood combo special. The Nam Khao appetizer is good too. Great service, clean place, good price for portion.

I have had it twice now, once there and again to-go. Great both times. The order was accurate and carefully packed and the egg rolls were still too hot by the time I got home. Fantastic. Quickly becoming my favorite Asian spot in St. Paul.

Fresh spring rolls were amazing. Also ordered a red curry that tasted like coconut milk with chili oil in it. Disappointed to say the least, but everything else was delicious. Prices are good but portions are also smaller than most places.

Pad Thai was very good. The inside of the restaurant was very nice for the area. The meal was around $8 which is very cheap for the amount of pad thai you get. The staff was very friendly, and the food came fast. 8.5/10 would go again.

The place is definitely a hole in the wall, but out of all of the Thai restaurants I have tried in Minnesota (pretty much all of them) this is the most authentic, and delicious. Youll definitely get more bang for the buck here also.
