Food quality is actually pretty good. Management however not so much. You cannot sub anything....... dont ask or your head may be bitten off. If you think you should be able to get cheesballs instead of fries with your juicy burger you just think again!!!! Hickory Park (and most civilized places) just charge you a few bucks more. Not so here, customer wants are secondary to management ego apparently.

I have stopped for breakfast several times, mostly on Sunday. I have always found the food to be very tasty with good portions. Service can be slow during the busy Sunday crowd, but I was not much in a hurry. Very good home-maded baked goods. Jump in the convertible and cruise about the back roads of central Iowa and end up at the Country House. I would recommend it.

THE SERVICE IS HORRIBLE!! We ordered and it took almost an HOUR to get our food... NEXT, they let us know as they delivered our meal that they had "ran out" of their baked potatoes... It would have been NICE if they would have let us know BEFORE they delivered our food! NEVER will come back!!

We use the back room here for meeting a couple times a year. The food is average. Its not the cleanest place in the world. It just happens to be a central location so it works.

This is the best food around! We had the tenderloin/fries and the hot beef sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The tenderloin was delicious and crinkle fries crispy

Not only is the Roast Beef delicious, but their pie is so tasty. To the person who had to wait and will not come back, GOOD, leaves more for us who love the place.
