The food was great but the employees are thieves. I gave them my card, they ran the purchase amount then handed me the receipt to sign. Since I was leaving a cash tip, I crossed out the tip line and carried the balance down. But the amount charged to my account included the tip, which means they re-ran my card with a higher purchase amount. I called them to get my money back and was told they couldnt credit my card, which I know for a lie because I work at a bank, and was promised a refund via a mailed check. Two weeks passed and I hadnt gotten a check, so I called about it and they hung up on me. In this instance they stole my cash tip and added it to my card, but I wouldnt be surprised if they also run cards for a higher amount and take cash from the register. So my caution to anyone considering going here, check your statement to make sure they dont steal from you too.

In a quest for a new Mexican experience in the area, I surfed Google and stumbled upon several great reviews of Dominguez Family Restuarant. I figured, what do I have to lose? --Turns out, nothing. It was a great experience: the location was easy enough to find, the atmosphere was cozy, very clean, and comfortable, service was friendly and prompt, food was absolutely delicious, and prices were right on par with the quality and taste. The chips and salsa were not what I prefer, but they were still good. Margarita was a little weak, but I would never let that stop me from going back to this place! Great authentic flavors - and doesnt weigh you down like many places do. I am excited to share this well-kept secret with my friends and family!

Worst customer service EVER. I asked for the LUNCH fajitas, when the server asked me "which kind chicken or beef", I asked "can you do mixed" and he replied yes. We we got our bill he charged me 18.50 for fajitas. I said to him "I asked for the lunch fajitas", he said "we dont do mixed in the lunch special". I said "you never told me that or I would have not ordered them mixed". He refused to change the price! HIS MISTAKE AND HE REFUSED TO CHANGE THE PRICE! So we refused to tip! The portion was definitely lunch size, we waited a very long time for our food and the restaurant was really small and stuffy. BAD EXPERIENCE ALL THE WAY AROUND!

I was recommended to come here by several people. In general service was very good and the food was fine but nothing spectacular. Ill have to go again and try other dishes, but the tamales I had were very middle of the road and the sides were typical of many other mexican restaurants. What stuck out to me the most was that the meat options seemed limited to chicken and beef, rather than the typical carnitas, lengua, etc. That can be found elsewhere. Id still recommend this to others but did not find it to be extraordinary on this visit.

This restaurant is the best thing to happen to the Nokomis neighborhood since the Nokomis Shoe Shop moved to its current location in 1983. The atmosphere is authentic, and the servers are courteous and kind. They do their best to adapt to any situation. One time, a margarita glass chipped, and they took it and replaced it (full) for free. Just an example of the hospitality. The food is excellent and the combo platters are filling. I find myself wanting to try new dishes, but sticking with "Mi Pueblo," my personal favorite on the menu.

I love Mexican food. I have eaten at so many Mexican restaurants that it would be impossible to count, but Dominguez is the best one. You will be met with friendly service, great prices and excellent food. My personal favorites are the #17: Carne Asada Mi Pueblo, where you will receive steak fajitas, a cheese enchilada and a chicken taco. The Chilles Rellanos (Stuffed Peppers) is also fantastic. If you are looking for something smothered in Queso, the Chimichangas are killer. Try this place out!

Absolutely fabulous in every way possible!! Our server was the daughter of the owner ( I lost my receipt but I think her name was Victoria). She introduced the Chef (her Dad) to us after the meal. She was friendly and made great recommendations! The started chips were fresh and hot, the food amazing and service outstanding! My boyfriend & I love Mexican food and are so happy we found this little gem of a restaurant 3 miles from my home!! We will be back frequently!!

By far the best Mexican place in the Twin Cities area. Amazing food, fast and friendly service, and an authentic and comfortable feel. Reasonable prices as well. I would highly recommend this place and Ive had a variety of dishes here. Not just Tex-Mex, but authentic, homemade Mexican with gourmet recipes. Amazing place to go, and the service rocks. 10/10 would recommend! :)

Food is great but while waiting for table while back with my daughter and her 3 kids tar from their establishment dripped tar all over my daughters twin stroller ruining it. Disappointed that they refused to replace damaged stroller. We were told in future we should call ahead with our party size. We had patronized this restaurant for many years.

Our entire family of 5 loves Dominguez! Sabino and staff are always friendly and fast. The food is always superb. I have tried more than 15 dishes, and have never been disappointed. My wife always gets the #8 - enchiladas. Great (warm) chips and salsa, beer and wine, nice family atmosphere. YUMMY!!! Reasonable prices, well worth it!

This place is great. My boyfriend and I went here for the first time tonight. Waiter was very friendly, and food was really good! Nice authentic, low key atmosphere. The inside is small, décor is fun and fitting. I would highly recommend! We shared a bottle of wine, one appetizer, two entrees and our bill was under $40!

Dominguez has been a favorite of our family for years! The staff is so friendly and accommodating, even now that we have a picky young child. The food is amazing! I love the chimichanga too much to branch out to other foods, but everyone else said the other good is great too!

I thought this was very good Mexican food. Definately more authentic mexican, as far as minnesota is concerned anyway. I tried enchiladas and fajitas, as well as a margarita. They have all the mexican beers too. The atmosphere was cute and our server was friendly and helpful.

Im so lucky to have this restaurant within walking distance! I like the choices of beer & wine and the cozy atmosphere. Ive eaten here several times and the food has always been tasty, generously portioned and not nearly as expensive as I would think it should be.
