AWFUL service, and mild food poisoning. Four of us met at Buca in St. Paul for a late lunch/early dinner on Sunday, August 28th. My sons girlfriend had never been to Buca so I called in to reserve the kitchen table. This is normally a really cool experience. Normally, the kitchen staff come over to say hi, and servers show you what dishes are being served. Not in this place.... The kitchen staff avoided us like the plague. Oh... dont get me wrong, there were people in the kitchen. And in the hallway where the table is. In fact, rather a lot of them actually. But they were pretty much all engaged with each other, and speaking in Spanish. It is pretty entertaining to be in a room full of Spanish speakers who assume that you do not speak Spanish... They had some interesting things to say about the gringos at the table in the kitchen. Apparently, we must have had a trainee for a server, because there were two faces whenever they managed to come by the table, which was infrequently at best. A couple of times I got up and grabbed fresh plates myself from the server alley in the kitchen. When I did that, the "Chef" in the kitchen would holler "Thank You" from across the server table. The tab for lunch came to about $190 with a 10% tip. I didnt stiff the servers completely because they did manage to drag their butts back to the table a couple of times. I had to walk out to the bar to get my check... when I got to the bar the two servers were standing in the bar area apparently in the midst of some grand story. Just based on the craptastic level of the service, I would have given this Buca a D+. However... and this is really wonderful... ALL FOUR OF US came down with mild food poisoning. All the usual symptoms, the exact details of which I will spare you, but suffice it to say that the past 24 hours have been particularly hideous. There was absolutely NO VISIBLE SIGN of any management on premise, because had there been, I would have said something to them about the crappy service level. I mentioned to the two guys who had been half-assed waiting on us that for a $200 lunch tab, I am accustomed to a higher level of service. The response, "Uh... Sorry." So... While I remain a big fan of the Buca di Beppo chain of restaurants, I rate THIS one as a complete fail in every aspect... Service, management, and food quality.

Hello Foodies!! my daughter & I shared a Mother/Daughter Extravaganza Meal at Buccas St. Paul on 12/11/15... Not only was our server Brooks the most Fab server, his counterparts,, AKA fellow servers also went out of their way to make our experience THE BEST we ever Had!!! this was also a early B/D present for my daughter and I had left explicit instructions in detail how I wanted all of it to play out so she could get the most Fun & Enjoyable experience Ever... Well they did all of that and MORE< MORE< MORE! So if you are looking for a Shakin Good Time with S&G please pick this Buccas they will Not Disappoint!!! PS: Even the Night Manager I think her name was Tiffany? was a Riot and played along, Go for it and Manja like my Italian Mama would say:) Ciao Baby;;;; March 13,2016 My 2nd PARTY @ ST. PAULs Buccas,,, for my Granddaughters 17th B/D....Okay drum Roll,,,,, Well I thought they couldnt possibly up their game any more, well was I pleasantly SURPRISED!!! They Surpassed it, by a Football field,,, what a smashing great laugh out loud sing along stickin good time for ALL!!! We had my Favorite S&G Stand up Waiter Brooks, and his side kick MGR. serve Us and add to our most enjoyable time ever, my Grandaughter who is usually just whatever was all laughs and OMG s when the food kept coming, and then the B/D song, and then the stinkin Huge piece of Chocolate/Chocolate Die For Cake was served, so Big you could park a Truck on It!!! I am telling you guys if you have not gone here do it and do it NOW, If not You Must Be Dead and You cant enjoy it ANYWAY!! Went there with my family on Christams day. Huge mistake. The part of the restaurant where we were seated was cold, to the point that our young son had to keep the coat on all the time. The menu books we got were sticky. We order the food (not very impressed with the selection) and some wine. The wine come in the most filthy glass you can imagine in a restaurant. We pointed that out to the server and returned the wine. We were told that the manager was told about the glass and we got a free soft-drink as replacement. One will have expected the manager to come in and appologize in person, but that didnt happen. I dont think they really care about. The food was not that good either. A pizza we ordered was one of the worst I have seen in a restaurant and they charged $16 for it. When we asked for the bill, the server told us we have to go through the dessert menu first. These are the rules !?! Really ?? Sure enough she brought in those menus first and later the bill. I couldnt wait to leave that place. It made me sick to my stomach. It was for the first time in my life I didnt leave a tip. Quite honest, that place should get a visit from the sanitation department. I am amazed they have a licence to run a restaurant.

READ THE END IF YOU WANT A SYNOPSIS "Do you have a seating preference?" The seater woman asked. "Far from others." I respond, to which she obliges and seats us away from other guests. That was fantastic, but what sucked was not even 5 minutes later you seated someone else RIGHT NEXT TO US, and they had a kid who was having a birthday! Way to trample upon what you had already established. Oh, and our bill went up $3 just by the waiter swiping it. Asked the front staff if that was normal, if I had accrued any charges per swiping my Debit - Nope! Greedy little loser forced a $3 Tip when I had it in mind to tip $10! I gave no extra tip. Food was lackluster and held no unique value I couldnt find elsewhere. Long story short: They dont give a damn about your seating preference, and will force tips even if you intended to tip higher originally. Food had no original or only found here taste. Do not go to this location.

Even no one start.. i had an reservation 7:30pm on Mothers day with my family and came little early.. The front desk tried to give us the table at the bar which i said NO because of my young children, miners. I said we would wait until 7:30pm and we were waiting at the outside but my son was the inside for waiting.. There is manager who calls Mark and he said i am the PSYCHO in front of my son which he might do not know.. when my son complained to Mark he said he didnt say that. I entered and talked with Mark and he denied and said someone did say i am the psycho. He never sorry and keep denying.. Tammy GM said sorry but Mark never.. i am not sure if family has miners children and doesnt want to sit at the bar. Is it wrong and is it called Psycho???? No way...
