My husband and I moved to Maple Grove from NY almost a year ago, and since being here we (along with my mom) have enjoyed trying a variety of take-out places. We came across Yu Fong on google and saw that it received 4 out of 5 stars...but after our experience tonight, we cannot understand how this is so. We were happy to learn that Yu Fong could prepare dishes without MSG upon request, and they did make good on this promise...Except our food was beyond bland and inedible. If this establishment received 4 out of 5 stars, then they must be relying solely on MSG for their food to be somewhat desirable. In addition, my mom ordered CASHEW chicken...that came without cashews. The nail in the coffin, though, was when I brought the food back to Yu Fong. I returned with the food in its entirety and explained to the hostess that this was our first time ordering, the food was not what we had expected, and that we would like our money back. The hostess was very abrasive, saying that since we ordered without MSG, it would be the exact quality that we received. I explained that while that may be true, we were still dissatisfied with our food and would like a refund. She proceeded to refund the money, but not without griping about how this was costing her and the other employees money. I expressed that I was sorry, but that we would not pay for food that was sub-par. She continued to complain for several minutes until the refund was complete. For anyone interested in ordering here, there are far better take-out restaurants than Yu Fong and I suggest you take your money elsewhere.

Very disappointed in Yu Fong. My wife and I ordered from here for the first time, and sadly will not be ordering from here again. We ordered food without MSG, because my wife has an MSG allergy and apparently the MSG is what makes the food tolerable. Upon arriving home with the food, we opened everything up to discover that NOT ONLY was the food not what we wanted/expected, but the food had absolutely no flavor whatsoever. The meat tasted like it was boiled, and the cashew chicken that my mother-in-law ordered had no cashews. At all. The person from the restaurant said that they were "on the side" but there werent any to be found. My wifes beef and broccoli (if thats what you want to call it) was basically beef, broccoli, and a ton of other vegetables ontop of having absolutely no flavor. Honestly, the stuff we feed our dogs probably tastes better! I do not recommend them, and will not be ordering from there again.

I absolutely love this place. Whenever Im in the area, this is where I pick up my guilty pleasure for comfort food. Everything that Ive ordered there has been delicious! I grew up on Asian cuisine so Im actually a pretty tough critic. Some of my favorite dishes....the Orange Beef, Shrimp in Lobster Sauce, and Sesame Chicken! Honestly the orange beef is fantastic, the beef is fried and has a nice crunch on the outside, covered with a sweet and savory sauce, and has candied orange zest which is made from real oranges! The candied orange adds freshness and a nice pop of tartness, its like a surprise when you bite into one. Best Orange Beef Ive ever had. The shrimp with lobster sauce is awesome as well, put that sauce on top of rice and its just savory goodness. If youre looking for some comfort food to take home, I highly recommend this place!

Only reason 2 stars bc it was fast. A wise man once said legit fried rice has egg in it. No eggs. Saw the reviews so I decided to go here. I got fried rice and sesame chicken. The chicken at the top was dry and had no sauce but the bottom was swamped. Some of the chicken was really chewy, some really hard, and the sauce wasnt good at all as well as the quality of meat. Fried rice was bland. Also the lady said that it was spicy and it was no where near. It was excessively sweet. I question what kind of experience people on here have with Chinese food, bc this is not even average. Go to the taco place next door, the reviews live up to the ratings there.

Wow my first review ever. I write this as a warning to all people trying to look for something decent in maple grove area. Keep looking do not eat here. Apparently the flavoring is just red pepper. My Mongolian beef was the most bland I have ever had anywhere. To say they use a tiny portion of meat is an understatement, it was almost all onion, and what beef there was low grade at best and seemed like it might have been cooked in a microwave. I think buying Chinese food at a gas station would have been better. If I could give zero stars I would. I have had better Chinese food from a freezer bag.

As others have said, this place makes some fantastic food. I regularly get the Beef Lo Mein and Pork Fried Rice and they are simply delicious. The Cream Cheese Wontons are also excellent, as well as the other menu items that I have tried. The noodles in the Lo Mein are a bit finer than I would use, but the outcome is much better than one would expect. The containers are always overfilled, so you get a good value for your money too! Their only negative is that they do not deliver.

This is the best Chinese takeout in the NW suburbs. Their food is always super hot when you pick it up, and it tastes great. Id recommend ordering the lunch specials because its such a great value. They fill a 3-section styrofoam takeout box to the brim with fried rice and an entree, and they come with 2 cream cheese wontons. These lunch boxes are available outside of lunch hours for an additional $1. The only thing that would make Yu Fong better is if they delivered.

I absolutely love this place! I recently moved from California and was worried that I would never find a Chinese restaurant that would top my favorites back in Cali. So far I have had the sesame chicken and Mongolian beef and they were just amazing. When I had the sesame chicken it was crispy just the way I like it. The Mongolian beef was very flavorful and had just right amount of spice. Yu Fong is my new go to Chinese takeout in town!

Have been coming here for a few years and love it. They have the best, the absolute best, Cream Cheese wontons around. Hands down. With a slight taste of onion (?), cant get enough of them. We sometimes get two orders of them. One order to eat on the way home and the other with our meals. As JLammie indicated, everything always tastes great and everyone there is always so very nice, warm and welcoming. Cant wait to get back there!

Food is fantastic!!!!!!! Standard take-out Chinese menu done absolutley perfectly. I was not expecting this when I saw that a Chinese place opened up by my house. Ive had good and bad Chinese food and this place is a gem. Flaky egg roll wrapers, terrific sweet and sour items, love their fried rice...I havent ever had a bad experience and I would eat here every day if I could! The owners are very very friendly as well...
