I’ve been to this place a few times now, and the EXTREME RUDENESS of the old lady has been an accompanying feature, during each trip. The old lady who owns the place (?) is the rudest person I have encountered in the U.S (I have been around for 2 years now). She is everything that all the other wonderful, warm and cheerful people here, are not. What I thought as a one- time thing was not so. She did not miss a chance to be rude, ever – no! Be it shouting on me (“ You cannot come here and ask for writing on the cake. You have to call in to do that” to “Don’t write ‘happy birthday’ on the sheet ( I was writing out the birthday message on a piece of paper). I know how to spell ‘happy birthday’. Just write the name!!”) , or being just grumpy as ever, She was just plain RUDE, all the time, never missing a chance. Oh no. I do not know what calamity has befallen the lady, but I don’t feel that being plain rude to your customers is worth anything. I guess the only reasons why she is still in business are: • No competition (Not sure if there are other bakeries in town with such good cakes) • Their cakes are very good, as hinted at above. So, if you want to spoil your mood or thoughts, or get yelled at, go to Bagatelle. You won’t be disappointed :) If there were negative stars for rating, I would have provided them. If not for this lady, this would be a 5 – star rating.

I think I’m in love, with a restaurant. I was anxious to get home and review this awesome bakery. Upon entering I was greeted by such a friendly/funny employee and a TON of homemade pastries/bread. I was in over my head, I wanted to try everything! I ended up ordering an almond croissant and the waitress surprised me with two other beautiful little treats (tiramisu and a strawberry cake). I ordered lunch as well that consisted of a large chicken shwarma wrap, vegetable salad and lentil soup. All of this came to just $8.00! EVERYTHING was so delectable. While waiting for your food there is also complimentary desserts and rolls by the drink area. All I can say now is that I will be a frequent customer from this day on. Only complaint is that it’s on the other side of town (south east), which could actually be a good thing for my wallet and physique lol.

I live out of state and always order a cake for celebrations with my family from Bagatelle Bakery. I generally pay over the phone, but I came home for Mothers Day. My sister went and picked the cake up for me. I asked my sister the cost of the cake she said she didnt pay anything because she thought I had paid over phone. This morning I called the bakery to pay for the cake.. CAN WE SAY THE GUY WHO TOOK OVER THE CALL WAS THE RUDEST PERSON EVER HE STATED HE WAS THE OWNER. CHASTISING ME FOR YOUR EMPLOYEE ERRORS OF NOT GETTING PAYMENT for the cake. THE FACT THAT I CALLED despite your error. I just could not believe the ugliest of this person instead of appreciating the fact I have been a long time customer and I was honest enough to call and make good on the order. No one deserves this treatment.

Good bakery, about what youd expect...prices are pretty good, and the bread and pastries are great! But service...OMG. The old lady owner is the rudest human being Ive ever encountered in a service setting...bar NONE. Its our little treat to go inside (always a family favorite) to watch the old bitty meltdown, have temper tantrums, berate her staff loudly, and for icing on the cake, shes got a broken arm right now!!! You thought it was epic lolz before? Wait till she has to get her "slaves" to open every box for her and fold and arrange stuff! You think soup nazi or the old mamsan from Fried Rice was bad? Check out this piece of sour humanity. Anyway good stuff if you live on the east side...just budget extra time for the disorganized s&*% show.

I cannot say enough amazing words about the staff at Bagatelle! Not only are their creations mouthwatering, yummy, and spectacular, but they go above and beyond the call of duty. We purchased our wedding cake from Bagatelle a few years ago and EVERY YEAR my husband goes to the bakery and purchases a topper cake for our anniversary.(We did not freeze our topper per recommendation from the wedding cake coordinator, she was dead on. It would not do justice to excellence!) The staff recreates my simple but elegant wedding cake every year with one of the flavors from that wonderful day. I never hear my friends speak of their bakery as we rave about Bagatelle. You would be crazy not to try them out for any occasion or just stop by and have a bierock.

Im not a big fan of the dry cake as it is, but my wife likes them. We ordered a cake that they said would be ready the next day. The next day she couldnt get to the store so she called and told them she would come the day after. She arrived as she said AND THEY SOLD HER CAKE!!! They told her that it would not be good after two days so they went ahead and sold it, but failed to make another for her. They tried to push her to buy a different cake that she did not want, and not what she ordered. The worst part is that she said shed be willing to wait for them to re-make the cake and they insisted she buy something similar instead. What is wrong with people. I was happy to hear my wife say that we can go somewhere else from now on!

Rude and unprofessional service. I ordered a cake for my sons 1st birthdaya. The cake was pretty good but it looked horrible. I wouldnt serve this even at a retirement party (the colors were so old fashioned). The edges were unfinished, there was a finger on the edge. For $40 cake, this was unacceptable. I asked for one color flowers and the flowers were blue, green, and yellow. When I questioned the look of the cake, the woman yelled at me and literally threw the cake on the counter. It was the most unpleasant experience I ever had. Also, watch out about the prices - they advertise one price but charge you a different price.

The cake itself was great and reasonably priced; however, the customer service was terrible. I had to order my cake 3 separate times because my order kept being misplaced. The bakery acted as though it was my fault that the cake hadnt been ordered. I dropped off ribbon to use on the cake, and it was lost. I had to make a special trip into the bakery from Colorado to get things straightened out. I was treated very poorly in every conversation I had with the bakery. This establishment was the greatest source of stress I had while planning my wedding.
