Get more than you pay for Every item I saw on the lunch menu was less than $20. I got more value than I paid for in quality and quantity of food, the service, decor, and location downtown a mere 2 blocks from Minneapolis one and only train. Especially from the staff, youre getting value. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. Our waitress struck the perfect balance between attentiveness and discretion. The decor, service and clientele were professional. If youre dressed professionally, youll blend in better than wearing a backpack, jeans, shorts or sneakers. That was my experience on a Monday.

The atmosphere is quiet nice and the food was good. However, the service was not what I would expect. Our server kept pushing us to order more appetizers and sides after we repeatedly declined and said we were fine with our current selections. I must say that after repeatedly being asked to order a side of steamed broccoli, or why not some asparagus, or spinach, or why not a soup, with my salad, I was very annoyed. Had it not been for the service, I would have rated this restaurant much higher.

Better choices in Minneapolis. The seared ahi was pre-made and room temp. The cauliflower puree that it came on was good. But overall it was bland and not hot off the grill. The scallops were average. The pancetta was more like ham. The halibut well cooked, but bland. The sucotash was flavorful. Decided not to have dessert since the meal was less than desirerable. The silver lining is that bottles of wine are half price on Saturdays. Go elsewhere. Felt like hotel food at best.

My fiance and I chose this place at random, essentially. 6pm reservation on a Saturday was unnecessary, it gets much busier later (after 8-9pm). Ordered crusted walleye, which was good, not outstanding. Also had the Duck three ways, which was exceptional. Apple tart dessert and seafood ceviche appetizer were incredible and capped the evening off well. The service was exceptional and tasteful while expeditious. Definitely would recommend for an intimate night out.

Great fresh food; excellent choice - lamb chop pops and grilled ahi tuna were faves. wine list is a little limited with some ok wines; missing country of origin on "by the glass list". Ambiance is appropriate- warm, relaxed - but unfortunately made our wait staff also relaxed that they were not attentive for the level this restaurant wishes to attain. We were one of three tables with as many wait staff but had to request service several times.

We chose a seat outside because the weather was awesome. The service was descent and as you can see from the pictures the scallops not only looked great, but they were cooked perfectly. My wife had the burger with the cheese in the middle. It was a bit overcooked, and lacked the cheesy center she was going for. Still it wasnt bad according to her.

A great place for small and larger groups. Katie is totally awesome to work with for large groups and pays attention to detail. The appetizers are great, wine options are tremendious, and the desserts are to die for. Thanks for making my event a huge success. A must try for any event.

Nice place, nice service but I really was left with a bad impression after their nickel and diming. Arnold Palmer - $3.75, no refills. Wouldnt it be appropriate for your server to tell you the drinks are not a free refill before running up a $15 tab just on ice tea and lemonade?

Waiter was terrible. Served later tables before us, brought us cold bread. He did not even bother introducing himself, which normally wouldnt bother me, but he did it to every other table. The entrees were excellent, though.

Great spot for power lunches, which has a mostly well-deserved reputation for its food, too. Excellent ambiance, mostly well-executed dishes. Tomatoes in caprese salad were a little mealy, but scallop salad was phenomenal.

Planning programs and cocktail socials at Mission American Kitchen is so simple. Their event staff is attentive and helpful and their service staff always goes the extra step in making the program go off without a hitch.

I like Mission and would definitely recommend it. However, it doesnt quite attain that "special" status where everything knocks your socks off. Also, downtown so you are going to be paying a little for the real estate.

Upscale dining without too much pretense, and plenty of fantastic menu options. Big bar scene with the after-work professional crowd, especially attorneys from the blue chip firms and real estate developers

The ambiance was better than the food. Not the best Chilean Sea Bass Ive ever had, and not the best Creme Brule. Also, my water glass had a huge crack in it near the lip. And, we had to ask for bread.

This is a great go to spot for a drink after work. The bar is comfortable and food is good. My favorite is Saturday night after work for 1/2 price bottles of wine and dinner. Cant beat it!
