I normally dont post bad reviews, but I posted on their facebook wall and they deleted the post. so I wanted to share the word about the horrible service I received there today. I have NEVER been treated like this before! So my wife and I found this place by doing a search on my phone after the "Bachelor Farmer" told us we had an hour wait today for brunch. We were very hungry and when we arrived, we were quickly seated (awesome there). The menu looked amazing given the prices. My wife ordered a brunch burger (with a fried egg on it) and I ordered this egg in a bowl pastry thing. The kitchen brought out our food initially, and the egg was only partially cooked. (sunny side up, runny whites). We can understand that since it was our first time, we didnt know how they prepared their eggs. So the waiter brought her plate back to fix it. They cooked the same egg a little more and put it back on the burger. Which meant that there was still runny whites left on the burger. My wife hesitantly bit into the burger and noticed that the burger was only partially cooked and was cold pink in the middle. She was then disgusted and sent it back and did not want to eat her meal. I did not eat my meal, and at that time I told the waiter we just wanted to pay for what we had already consumed (a scone, orange juice and a tea and leave) he brought the bill and it still had my plate on it. He said since he offered to fix it for my wife that I was on the hook for my plate (even though he promptly removed it and i did not eat it). Hang on here...we are getting to the best part. So I hesitantly paid... On our way out the manager called me over (he never had the courage to come address me at the table while I was still there), by waiving a gift certificate at me. I told him the whole story and why it was not fair that I had to pay for food I did not eat. His response was "Well its good that you are never coming back, because you are not welcome here" I have never been told that by someone before so I was shocked...I have been nothing but respectable to the people there, and I will be honest that I got really upset and told the manager to F- off on my way out the door ... they mocked me on my way out by telling me loudly and obnoxiously to "have a good day". Unacceptable

Unfortunately when one of the members of our party mentioned to the waiter that the fish was not entirely fresh and that he did not want to eat it he was accused of not knowing what he was talking about. He ate everything but the funky fish and happily enjoyed all the other dishes we ordered and did not demand anything, including a new meal. It would have been fine with no harm done but the owner came to the table and caused a real fuss, saying everyone in the kitchen tasted the fish and it seemed fine to them. (for the record, it did tasty "fishy") I work in retail and can relate the irritation one feels in regards to the "customer is always right" sentiment, however in most cases it doesnt matter what you think. The customer can think he is right and you can complain about him behind his back and have an extra large glass of wine at the end of the night. I was disappointed by the reaction and felt awful about the whole evening. I will not be using my $5 coupon for lunch only that was presented as consolation.

Dont get the omelette, it was one of the blandest omelette Ive had in my life. Theres absolutely like no cheese to keep everything together. The omelette just fell apart as I was eating it. All I could taste is plain egg with some spinach. Terrible. It was expensive too. I would not come back to this place. No idea why this place gets good business. Maybe their other stuff is good, but be sure to not get the omelette. Also, portions are pretty small too for its price. I went with like 8 other friends. It took a LONG time for our food to come (40+ minutes). It was ridiculous. Also, when it came, many of what we ordered were either lukewarm or flat out cold. My omelette was pretty much cold, I was so hungry, I just ate it anyways. I tasted terrible. Id skip this place and go somewhere else, this place blows. Maybe I have to lower my food standards, but after living in California, I expect things to not only taste good, but provide great value. This place does neither.

Grand Cafe is one of my very favorite restaurants. It is charming, small and cozy. This is the place to go if you want delicious, seasonal food perfectly prepared, and great service. On my last visit, I was catching up with an old friend whom I had not seen in years, and the wait staff were perfectly patient while we spent more time chatting than looking at the menu, and never gave any indication that we had overstayed our welcome, although we were there for several hours. This is not fast food! And while the menu is small, and entrees may be unfamiliar to you or your guests, dont fret! In 4 years, Ive never ever had less than a wonderful meal, even when I wasnt enthusiastic about the particular menu choices that day. Always turns out mouthwateringly fantastic. Save room for dessert - I just had a basil berry sorbet which was divine.

Overall, I did not enjoy this restaurant. We went there for a Valentines dinner. The special as explained by our waitress seemed like it was a couple could for eat for $55. When we got our bill for $118, it was quite shocking especially considering the food we got. We started with a lentil soup that did not have a lot of flavor. I think Ive had soup from a can that would beat the taste and quality. We moved on to our entrees which were good. Our dessert was a dry cake without a lot of flavor. When we were finished, we waited fifteen minutes to receive the check. I left quite hungry and dissatisfied. I needed to hit up the dollar menu after visiting the Grand Cafe. The waitstaff was attentive which is about the only thing I can recommend about this place.

I used to really enjoy this place, and there still are tasty things on the menu, but the quality seems to have slipped in the past year. For instance, today I ordered biscuits and gravy and what I got was more akin to a sloppy joe. For his part, the boyfriend got very standard eggs benedict and he couldnt finish it because the hollandaise sauce was all wrong and the dish had an odd sweet flavor. I hope this place is able to make a comeback soon, because until it does its off my brunch rotation.

Prompt, well informed service. Great wine list, the rose by the glass was phenomenal. Whoever sat us (seemed like a manager of some sort) had pretty extensive wine knowledge and was so helpful when we were picking out a bottle. We ordered a few apps, shared a salad and the entrees (duck egg dumplings and lamb, morels, fava beans with a ramp hollendaise) composed one of the best meals Ive ever eaten. Yum. The ambiance made everything that much better and Im already dreaming of going back!
