We came here in a group, and one of my friends swear by this place. Based on the reviews it seemed like a great idea. Upon arrival a weird thing happened. We had a party of 4 adults and two kids, and they proceeded to put us on a 4 top and put Kids chairs at the end of the table. I was annoyed because the restaurant was NOT full. But whatever. I questioned their choice of table, stating that we might be one or two more than I anticipated. They said lets wait til your party arrives if you need to move. I said ok. Well our party showed up, and it turned out to be 4 adults and 3 kids, and they wanted to squeeze us on that 4 top still. Two of the kids are old enough to have their own chairs, and a high chair besides. At this point I was shocked beyond comprehension. One of our party gently suggested that we move to an 8 top right next to our table, and the hostess reluctantly obliged, and her non-verbals clearly expressed distain. I was beyond words. The staff made sure we had enough water, I had to grab a set of silverware for one of the Kids, and they DID NOT attempt to set the table for us. We had to do it. Well so far, they get a Hospitality score of 0/5. The buffet line is strange in that its a single line with a barricade into the line, so its single file. Now this restaurant is a fairly good size, looking like it could fit 50-60 people seated. You can see how this might be a problem. On top of that the styrofoam cups and bowls were at the end of the line, where the soups and curries that need such serving ware in before. Urghh. More frustration. Well the redeeming value of this place is the food. It tasted every bit as good as other authentic India buffets on my list. They had curried goat and fish, which were wonderful. As for the meat dishes, theres like 15% meat and all sauce, so you need to hunt for the meat. They have lots of gluten free and vegetarian options as well, as one of our party is vegetarian. Dessert options like mango pudding, fruit, and Rice Gheer round out the buffet line. Food quality 5/5. Organization 2/5. The ambiance, fit and finish of the place is what I would call divey. For an Indian restaurant, competing with the white table cloth places around they are really in the hurt locker. Lets just say the bathrooms are just like some of the worst divey Chinese takeout joints or rural roadside gas station bathrooms. You get the picture. Ambiance/finish 1/5. Overall because the food was great. And I usually have a high tolerance for a lot of frustration if the food was great. So they get 3 stars from me. If youre in this area and need great Indian, well come knowing what youre getting into. For everyone else, do yourself a favor and head to Persis Indian Grill in Eagan off Yankee Doodle and 35E instead. You can find that place in my bookmarks.

Wednesday -- 630pm We get there, and alright, Im willing to accept the generic decor in the unabashadly square dining room. Which we had plenty of time to ponder over while we waited for several minutes, not a staff member in sight, to eventually be seated by who must have been a high-school senior with piles of tude and an air of "Im way too cool to be having to serve tables." Alright, the food. Its like, imagine you did a google search for indian food. Found a recipe on All-Recipes. Didnt have jasmine rice, so you like, subbed in regular white rice. Oh, and you dont have fresh veggies, so you pull out the carrot/pea/corn bag of frost-covered veggies from when you tried to make fried rice last month and sub that in too. Except you accidentally drop your wallet into the food processor in the process. Thats kinda how the dining experience felt like. Youd have much better luck someplace in the Cities. This was just disappointing.

absolutely NEVER going back to this place ever again. I have been a regular between all the management changes for the past 3 years. I have experienced a lot of unpleasant happenings, but have always had lots of patience. some of my experiences have been: the steam table not working & food being at unsafe temps (cold food is disgusting.) I have on more than a few occasions showed up to not have them open when their sign says they are open; but worse of all, I have been charged different prices at different times, even when people ahead of me in line were charged the correct price (wondering if thats because of my ethnicity.) I guess a nice visit to the BBB is in order, maybe the department of health also...highly doin their employees have been treated fairly also. so long...hope they tear this place down and put an apartment complex over it! (p.s. not even worth the 1 star.)

The food is awesome (its way better than the previous Indian restaurants at this location), but if you place to-go orders you need to be very diligent about inspecting the order before you leave. Placed online order on their new web site and paid online. Picked up food and when I got home realized naan was missing from the order. Go back and the lady has the nerve to tell me that I did not order the item that was missing. I go get my phone and show her, in fact, I did order and pay for peshwari naan via the emailed receipt. The menu also said the goat biryani was boneless and served with raita, neither of which was true. It was more bones than meat. Bottom line: food is good, you just might not get what you ordered the first time. I hope they fix this.

Just discovered this place today, and its officially our new date restaurant. Owner and staff are really from India, and the food is great! Loved the fresh-baked naan a little too much (took the owner up on his offer for more and got REALLY full!). The saag paneer (spinach dish) is fabulous, and so is the tikka masala. The food here is refreshingly more flavorful than most Indian restaurants around here. The owner is really friendly, too. The only downside is the ugly ceiling tiles, which can easily be ignored. :)

I had the lunch buffet and it was very different. Im not really used to seeing that kind of food so the goat stew and sour mango sauce was all a bit of a shock to me. However the food was good (I stuck with the chicken tikka masala) and the selections make me think there is something for everyone. The interior was a bit disorganized and felt more like an office than a place to eat a meal. Staff was kind and kept my glass full. I wish they didnt wash dishes in the main dining room though because it was a bit loud.
