Over the past decade weve been here a lot. Recently in the past several years theyve started to serve pho (Vitnamese noodle soup) with broth, herbs, and meats. Ive tried many other places in Brooklyn Park and Minneapolis especially but none have been comparable to these guys. This past weekend weve come to have pho and also got a side of spring rolls and fried sugar donuts. Theyve got a good menu but this is worth the try, especially if youre driving through and want something close by. The sugar donuts right out are a great delectiable just melts in your mouth. The spring rolls were fresh and theyre made with both shrimp and beef I believe. Now to the pho, we had the regular beef noodle pho. The meat was made just perfect and placed with the right amount of basil and bean sprouts. Best pho Ive had in a while, its not oily and the meats werent fatty, like some other vietnamese restaurants in Minnesota Ive been to. I wish they were near me but definitely the best pho around. Worth the drive every time. Highly recommend! Atmosphere: 5 (It may not look like a lot from the outside but a wonderful place inside. Very spacious and well lit by the windows.) Food Quality: 5 (Fast, large portions - the fried donuts can feed at least, well for me 1 for most a small group. Nice to know they do catering as well!) Service: 5 (Seated right away, their service is so good that some times they accidently bring out doubles. Really kind individuals.) Cleaniness: 5 (Come for the food) Stars 5: Will definitely be back!

I have eaten at this place many times. The chinese food there is OK (3 stars), but the pho (Vietnamese beef noodle soup) is "Loved it" (5 stars). When you first walk into this place, it isnt the greatest appeal. The tables and chairs are worn. My wife and I decided to go for the buffet the first visit there. The food had been sitting out for awhile, and the dishes were just soaked in sauce. Some of the dishes had been refilled, and those were much better, however, it still lacked quality overall. While we ate the buffet, we noticed everyone around ordering or eating pho. It was quite strange to see. The next few times we went, we got the pho. It was amazing. I have eaten pho at a lot of places around the city, but this place is definitely on the top of my list! The broth is very well seasoned, rich, and flavorful. I dont even need to add the hoisin, fish sauce, etc.; however, I do add spice (chili oil or Sriracha). The portion size comes in Regular and Jumbo. I tend to eat a lot and the Jumbo goes beyond satisfying my hunger. The price for it is very good. The service here is great. They are attentive and very nice. My wife and I now go there almost every week, just for their pho. There arent many good pho places on this side of town, so I am glad I found this gem.

Called them on Sunday at 11am to place a special order for a full tray of beef lo mein and 100 chicken wings for my brothers baby shower/christmas get together. Total was around $110. Ive never ordered that much food at a restaurant before so the price seemed pretty reasonable to me. My cousins said it was more expensive than most places where it would be $30-$40 per full tray. I dont regret paying that much for what I got. It was a lot of food and it was much better quality compared to other chinese restaurants in the cities. Other restaurants usually use the cheap spaghetti type noodles for lo mein but China Chef had the more flat like noodles and their seasoning was very well balanced. Ive never dined in at this place but my take out order was great to serve my family. Whenever Im going to need to get food for a potluck, Im ordering from here.

first time going there i had the buffet, for $7.95 dont expect much. the rice was hard and dry, all the other food was dry from sitting too long, the receptionist went to go look at the food. and 10/10 knew it wasnt good anymore. but never brought out any fresh food. the service was just about the same dry as can be. no interaction at all and felt she was rushing us. she noticed my cup was empty she refilled it and slammed the cup on the table why? no idea. my girlfriend was smarter and ordered off the menu. which is where i see how they have so many stars their food is amazing. Ill never eat in, and ill stick to their take out. price for the menu was fair. despite the horrible service i decided to still tip. was really let down because of how so many people recommended it to me.

Just recently began working near this restaurant as I have relocated from an office in St. Paul. I was craving pho today but didnt want to drive back to my usual spots so thought Id give this place a try as it is so close to my job. Honestly, I didnt really have high expectations because Im just used to my faves in St. Paul on University Avenue. I have to say - this place is BETTER for pho than the usual places I go to. It is absolutely delicious with more flavor in the broth than any I have tried before. So happy I tried this place. Havent tried any of the other food yet, but hope to because if it is as good as the pho, its a winner! SIMPLY DELICIOUS!!

Out of this world Pho. The buffet at this place is full of the typical things youd find on a Chinese buffet, but you dont come here for the buffet... you come here for the Pho. The broth is like a bowl of heaven, and the Vietnamese meatballs are so, so good. The portion is huge, even the small size, but you will make yourself eat every last drop. Meat is tender, vegetables crisp and fresh - there is so much care that goes into this soup. The waitstaff here is so attentive and nice, and very helpful with anything you want to know about the menu. Definitely on my top 10 list.

Order my take out food today. They said itll takes about 20 minutes. I got there 30 minutes later and my food want even done! I ask the owner how long was it going to take bc Im in a rush. She said itll only take a few minutes. Turn out I waited for 15 minute. I then told the owner how much longer am I supposed to wait bc I call over 30 minutes ago and I know they forgot to cook my food. The owner said "oh" went to the back and got my order finally. Not to mention the owner snatched my debit card out from my hand probably scare that Im gonna go somewhere else.

Theres a reason this place has been open for 10+ years. I love robust flavors and China Chef never disappoints. My staple from is the pork fried rice. Im honestly not sure Ive had better fried rice than from here. Their Lo Mein is phenomenal. We also get the sesame chicken once in a while. You HAVE to eat it fresh, its not good leftover. This place is quality, quality, quality, and the prices arent unfair. If you do the buffet, you will likely be turned off. Order off the menu and you wont be disappointed.
