I just moved to Forest Lake and was looking for some good mexican food. After reading the reviews here on Google I was pleased to see that there was a 4.5 star mexican restaurant right here in town!!! I have eaten there twice now and am utterly dissapointed. This is the blandest mexican food I have ever tasted. Taco Bell can run circles around this place. The salsa was mediocre at best, the burritos and fajitas have absolutely no flavor. Im not sure what the reason for the 4.5 star rating was other than that people in Minnesota do not know what good mexican food is. I will say that the service was very good though, but if you want a lemon in your tea, you must ask for it, and when you get your tea refilled, they never put more ice in it, so your refill is warm. Blagh.

Meh. This place is as average as it gets. Why it was so packed tonight is beyond me. Service was very slow, we sat at the bar before being seated and never got waited on....there were only two others at the bar besides us. The Margaritas were premade and very weak. Bad. Food service was also slow, the place was not airconditioned, or the air was broken...all in all stifling when the smoking faijitas go by. My Chile Relieno was filled with american chesse and soggy. Enchiladas were made in the microwave. Chulupa was a tostada. If you don;t mind a microwaved mexican meal, you wont be dissapointed. I would not go back unless I had a two for one coupon and even then, I may skip it and hit Taco Johns.

We ordered take-out and my fiancé ordered chicken fajita nachos(I was literally sitting right next to him and heard him) so I called and told them that my order was wrong. He replied that he was one that took the order and that he didnt mess up. So I asked to speak to the manager and he replied he was the manager and continuously argued with me that he did not mess up the order. Then he wanted us to pay the difference. Thats just ridiculous. Ive never been treated so disrespectfully.

They claim they are authentic... The only tacos that arent a la carte are made with ground beef, lettuce and cheese... authentic Mexican tacos have meat onions and cilantro. Honestly, I felt like I could have cooked a more authentic Mexican meal at home. Staff barely understood me when I spoke English. Prices were kind of steep for the quality of the food.

Not only is the Mexican food awesome at Don Julios, but even the authentic atmosphere and the traditional Mexican music and friendly Latino staff help make dining there a real treat. I love traveling to Mexico and this place helps brings back fond memories of previous vacations. The prices are very affordable and the margaritas are killer!

We have been here 8 times in the last year, I never had one complaint except the rice tasted odd, They replaced it and it was fresh, The staff are always nice, and this is as close to mexican in forest lake that you will get. there is other places, but I went there and I wasnt impressed. so this is as close to grandmas food as I can get.

Great food! Best service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Authentic Mexican food (Im from California and I have had real Mexican food). Very reasonable prices. Incidentally, I have never been overcharged by the restaurant and I have eaten there 20-30 times.

The food is excelent, love The margarita but tonight The waiter plainly said i was drinking a medium so i Asked for one more but Wen i got The Bill it said 2 jumbo .... Wen i questioned him he said jumbo ok so i know i speak english but im not sure if he Does.

We have been to Don Julios many times now and have never been disappointed! From the service to the food. They are on top of everything at all times! Smiling faces and waiters who want to please the customers. Food was hot and good!!!!

Certainly the best Mexican food in the area and possibly the best place to get food in town. Food is great. Lots of options, always comes fast. Atmosphere is wonderful, workers are always friendly. And tremendous value for your $.

Service is great...I come here enough to have had a below average experience, but everyone has a bad day. The food is fantastic...clearly the clown that thinks Taco Bell is better has a problem with their taste buds.

Awesome food for a wonderfully cheap price. Definitely worth stopping by if youre in town. Friendly staff and fast service (depending on time of visit, if theyre busy it may take a little bit longer).
