I was there during the lunch buffet so I had a chance to try a variety of items including lo mein, fried rice, sweet and sour, fried chicken and a few appetizers. Nothing fancy, but almost everything was quite tasty. The cashew chicken was mostly celery but still tasted good. The S&S pork was a bit chewy and the fried rice was a bit oily, otherwise everything met expectations. The buffet experience was a bit of a surprise since its served dim sum style instead of self serve. An obvious plus is the food is always fresh and hot. On the downside though, the rate at which each dish is offered made me feel pressured to eat quickly, or risk missing an offering. As it was, I passed on a few items I would have liked to try simply because my plate was already full. Turns out the items are offered on a fairly predictable rotation so I got a second chance. Another con to this service method is the lack of control over portion size and placement on the plate. The server buried my unfinished sweet and sour and the half-used packet of hot mustard with a scoop of fried rice. I would have chosen differently if I had been operating the scoop. I was offered no menu, so I assume they are in buffet mode during lunch. I felt rushed the entire time I was there but I was eating my first bite within 90 seconds of walking in the door. So if yours is a short lunch hour, Rose Garden is the place to go. Oh, but bring cash or a check: no forms of electronic payment are accepted. I look forward to ordering off the menu next time, assuming they actually have one ... Seriously, they still take checks!

I have been going to this place for many years. I used to dine in before they opened up their Blaine restaurant much more than now. Since some of their staff went over there, theres been an older lady waitressing whos blatantly rude. I dont know if she is intentionally trying to be rude, or not, but she insinuated my siblings being fat. There was a table with 4 chairs for the 3 of us and she told us we probably need a larger table....who says that? Also, the other times I have been there I ask for a little of a certain food and she heaps a pile on my plate. What a waste of food. The last time I dined in I was ignored for being served food because I was waiting for a friend to show up. I told her to wait to serve me for a few minutes and she just ignored me for the whole 15 mins I waited for my friend. Other than the iffy customer service, the food is pretty good. I tend to just get take out now since I had a few bad interactions with the one waitress there. One of the better tasting Chinese restaurants in the area.

Ive been a loyal customer for over 10 years now, the flavors are decent and the portion sizes are huge. Very affordable. Cant go wrong for entertaining a large group. That said, the quality varies, sometimes the lo mein and fried rice are VERY greasy. Just absolutely soaked. I love the flavor of the sweet and sour chicken and pork but the meat can be trimmed poorly and the breading is often too thick leaving me to throw many pieces away. My husband loves their egg foo young and chow mein and while they are not my favorite they always taste good. The house egg rolls are popular with my family but I am personally not a fan. We have been patrons less and less, would rather have Angkor Restaurant deliver for the much higher quality, even if it does cost more. Also how do these guys STILL not accept cards? It would be so easy to just get a Square reader or something!

I have been coming to this coon rapids location my whole life and I LOVE THIS PLACE they are the best place I have ever gone to. Always the same workers cause their family, and they are the nicest people ever. When I came up short they said I could pay next time I come in cause they know I come in a lot and absolutely love that place!! They give you SO much food!! And it is super cheap compared to other places and some places taste cheap this place does not!, their food is always amazing and fresh and every time I order out say for example I order 10 wantons I always get extra like instead of 10 Ill get 15 or something along the the lines of that. I will never stop coming to this restrunt and I will continue to recommend this place to everyone I know that loves Chinese food!

Ive eaten there twice in four days! and I think Im going again today! Ive loved the beef pea pod, cashew chicken and sweet and sour so far. egg rolls are big and tasty. cheese wantons are fried and delicious. good prices and friendly staff. I liked them so much I corrected the place marker on Google maps and have them in my phone! only minor bummer for me was the "buffet". tasted great, but didnt get to try as big a variety as I wanted and the "buffet" was a server coming around every three to four minutes asking if I wanted to try what they had in the next bowl. felt a little pressured to eat faster to make plate room for the next item. I was done and out the door in about 15 min. I plan to eat here frequently, especially take out.

Been there many times.. its not fancy or upscale. Its authentic home-cooked Chinese that has an excellent reputation. The buffet gets too busy sometimes and the service lacks when it happens. The buffet gets too busy because it is indeed great food, theres an Asian restaurant up the block that is dead while Rose Garden has a line at the door. The lo-mein may be a bit behind in quality, and they solve it with quantity. The house fried rice is great sans the baby shrimp. Overall, most of the menu is great, and the small shop certainly has a couple weaknesses. Its not fine dining, its family cooked quality Chinese. And a lot of people love it. Now get some Spiiicy!!! (inside joke)

I cant review the food as I left before having any! The food on the table next to me looked appetizing but the waitress was so blinking rude I left before I had a chance to order. It was my first time there and I had asked her whether rice came with the dinner entree or not as it didnt say on the menu and she told me "that I could upgrade fried rice for $2.25" then I asked her what the cost of a side of fried rice would be and she said, "if you want to know the cost look it up on the menu!" then says, "if you not ready to order I go to other table!" she then walked away so we left immediately! Customer service is lacking Ill say. Will not try again!

Holy big portions! The one in Coon Rapids is in a very small building but it will surprise you when you order the cream cheese wontons. Theyre so flaky and not very greasy. Be sure to order the sweet and sour sauce to go with the wontons. My boyfriend order the shrimp low-mein and we split the fried rice (which could feed like four people) and I ordered the beef curry. Both of us agreed that the Shrimp low-mein was the second best thing we ordered (cream cheese wontons being the best). I wasnt too impressed with the chunks of green peppers in the beef curry but the waiter said I could substitute it for something else next time.
