This place used to be great but as of today (8/5/16) it appears a lot has changed, and not for the good. I walked in a was practically ignored by a young man who reluctantly asked if he could help me. I ask him for details on the buffet carryout, he doesnt say a word and throws a styrofoam container on the counter and walks away, even as i continue to ask for details on the buffet carryout... Whatever I give up on trying to get any details and just go grab my food. The food looks just as bad as the service but whatver, I am already there so I am eating. I make my selections from the slim pickings of hours old un replenished choices and head to the counter to pay and leave. The just as abrasive old woman proceeds to weigh my container and tell me my price is $17.00 for a leftover box full of old chinese food. I ask her about it and she tells me that because I have seafood (3 pieces of shrimp) that the per lb price OF EVERYTHING is $5.95 instead of $3.95, I ask her where they state that your price will nearly double if you choose even a single piece of seafood and she proceeds to start yelling and pointing to a hand written 8x8 sign on the wall halfway hidden behind a plant that states the buffet "rules" if all this isnt enough to put me off hopes forever, the food tasted like total trash, NEVER AGAIN !

They have the very best fried rice Ive had anywhere. Im picky, and Ive looked around a LOT. I have friends from China and Ive eaten at some great authentic Chinese restaurants in the Twin Cities. (Little Szechuan). This is American Chinese, which I also think is good. In fact, its why Im taking the time to go out of my way and give this review. Its the best fried rice Ive been able to find in the Twin Cities or suburbs. Their cream cheese wantons are also quite good...8/10. Their orange chicken, sesame chicken...also the best Ive had anywhere. I have gone to this place quite frequently now for 10 years. The service is always good. Very happy with this restaurant, and I consider myself very fortunate that I live reasonably close to it.

Always good. Not just some times. Been eating here since I was a small child and now bring my family here, YUM! AND prices are what they should be, people treat you kindly as they should, and the variety is great. Even though this place only has one hot bar dont let that fool you, its only because they know what is good and skip putting out all the crap that will just end up getting thrown out. For anyone who does not know already, the best time for ANY buffet is when they open for the day or during prime lunch or dinner hour. Just sayin, dont go to a buffet at 2:00 in the afternoon and complain that the food is cold, then its your own dumb fault then! Lol!! ~ We LOVE Hopes!!

I have been going to this place for years with my best friend but each and every time in the past couple of years its getting worse and worse, like the food is not seeming fresh especially the fruit that they put out looks dried out and old Orange cantaloupe and bananas dont look fresh the hot food on the other hand has a funny smell now and doesnt taste as good as it used to and each and every restaurant that I go to these days I want to ask to see theyre grade what is there percentage rate is it a 90% or more or is it as a B+ or more? And thats for any restaurants nowadays because they dont seem to care about how food is prepared or taste to the customer

First, they hesitated even serving us because we had a service dog. Then she looked around, seen everyone looking at us so she occluded us in the back AWAY FROM EVERYONE. Her actions are illegal. So we got up and left. Customers are great and stood up for us, employees and business are terrible. The server even said there is nothing wrong with the manager sitting us where she did and telling us we cant have our service dog there!!! Read up on the law before you run a business!!!

I ate there for the firat time on Sunday February 26th and got there around 11:15 am. Right after they opened. Was expecting hot food but was wrong. The orange chicken was very cold and ended up getting extremely sick later that night. Spent the next 15 hours on and off the toilet. I only had 1 of those pieces of chicken, so its possible that wasnt it. Which makes me even more scared of where that could have came from. Never again. That was the only thing I ate that day.

Cool, another chinese place I got sick by. A little more expensive than other places but all in all the price for what you get is pretty good. I came here twice, and the second time I went is when I got sick from it. Theres always people sitting down and eating though, and it seems to be one of the better places around here. Not perfect but not terrible either

This was not a very good buffet. They had only ONE row of food and not everything on the menu was served. The only thing worth going for are the cream cheese wantons, THEY WERE AWESOME. The seseame chicken was SO TOUGH. OVerall the food was OK but I will ONLY GO THERE AGAIN FOR TAKE OUT CREAM CHEESE WANTONS.

My wife and I were looking for some good chinese food and have now eaten at Hopes three times. Every time the buffet has been great. Hot food, very tasty and good selection of items. Looking forward to my take out tonight, some of the best cream cheese puffs and pot stickers I have had in a long time.

The place is OK and quiet, Buffet al day; price is different at dinner time or have the option to order from the menu. Salad was okay service was fine But for 12 Dollar I can go to a different one that will have more options. The restaurant is on central visible from mainroad next to pizza hot

The food was cold and very dry! We were there at 6:30pm. My first and last time there!!!!! It does not have very many choices either. Just one food heater of food! Which the heaters must not work! Not worth $13.00 for food and $2.50 for pop. Dont anyone go there you will be sad you did!!!!

When I walked in, an older Asian gentleman (the host) asked me "You wanna boof?" I said, "Hey, Man, I dont even know you." The seating was uncomfortable and the tables were sticky. Im sure now that Kung Pao means go poop - I go to Hopes whenever I get constipated.
