Good Food BUT high prices and cheap on condiments........I ordered 3 different items. We had 3 people eating. I got 1-soy sauce and 1-fortune cookie. The company has decent food but they are so cheap with "go withs" that Ive quit going there. I wanted extra soy sauce and I had to PAY FOR THEM!!! What the Heck??? I can go to a chinese restaurant near my work and for less than $5 I can get 1 egg foo young patty, 1 fried rice and 1 entire order of chow mein. Plus I get as many soy sauces I want for FREE and cookies not a cookie!! This restaurant has been around for a very long time but as the years go by the chinsier they get and the higher the prices go. If you like good chinese food - this place has got it but so do many others with prices that are reasonable.

I am new to the area. They are the first Ive tried around here. 1st time the fried rice was so burnt I couldnt eat it. Tried it a month later, same thing. Meanwhile the lo mein was excellent, the chop suey my uncle loved. Then last week I ordered shrimp lo mein. It too was burnt. Some of the noodles were so burnt on one side they were inedible. There was black specks all through it. And I know what black pepper looks and tastes like. Plus chinese food doesnt have black pepper as a seasoning. I finally took this order back, and I got the owner saying it is hard to cook it without some burnt. She made it seem like it is supposed to be that way, or like I should shut up and eat it. Stick a fork in me....Im done.

If you are looking for "american" chinese food like in the day this is the place. The pork sub gum chow mien has the generous amount of celery that you would expect and the mild gravy to hold it together.Put this on a mound of hot white rice add some crunchy chow mien noodles and some cashew nuts and you will have a dish of comfort food. If you want to add something the vegetarian egg foo young is good. Also the pork or cream cheese won tons if your hungry. There is a lot more on the menu including sesame chicken and some spicy dishes but if I want comfort food sub gum is it for me. service is good and the people are friendly. lisa wilson

08/24/13 = Had a special event family dinner. Everything was excellent and tasty. Real chunks of chicken and pork in the dishes we ordered. Not like some of the other places where they serve processed chunks and strips. This was REAL meat. Worth the price, which was reasonable. Every dish tasted great. We had: (I added the grades Id give these dishes) 1 order/Pork and Peapods = B+ 1 order/Egg Fu Young = B+ 2 orders/Chicken Chow Mein = A 1 order/Pork Lo Mein = A+ 1 order/Pork Fried Rice = B+ 1 order/Cream Cheese Won Ton = A+ 2 orders/Chicken Wings = A+ Total cost = $53.99 We will be back for more. BEST chicken chow mein around. Ever since I moved, I have tried countless places to find something even half way decent. Other items are good at these places but never the chicken chow mein. Absolutely no flavor. So, now I drive 30 minutes to come here! Yes, its that good. Their wings are so good too! I never have liked them at other places. Their wontons arent the best to me but still good! However, their sweet and sour sauce is really good! Its different than the sauce that comes with sweet and sour chicken. Definitely wish they would open up another branch in south Mpls because theres no good places to order from!!

I was weary because of the reviews online that i ve read about it being greay and mushy...which is something I am very picky about when it comes to food in general. I hate cheap, oily, bland sauces and food just swimming in it. The sauce in the chow mein is thick,as it is supposed to be, but full of flavor. The chicken fried rice and egg rolls are delicious as well!! They didnt skimp on any condiments, matter of fact, they were more than generous with them. The owners were very nice and my food was done in 7 minutes...made fresh!! I will be back without a doubt!!!

I worked there for 3 years, one at their old place, two at their new. I loved the food then and still do now many years later! It is by far my favorite place for Chinese, I compare everything else to it, and everything thus far has fallen short of it. Favorites are: Chicken lo mein, chicken chow mein, sweet and sour chicken, pork fried rice, and their egg roles/ wontons are awesome. Chicken wings are great too.. too hard to choose! Everything is made fresh to order, and all fresh ingredients too.

Been there to Asia chowmein . The food is kind of ok, but hate the way the woman serves behaved with us. We were 2 and initially we were seated in a place. Since there was a big crowd coming she made us to move to another table which was too small even to keep our plates and also that was in middle of our dinner. There was a choice of seating the big crowd in another place, but we wondered why would she do that.Also the place we sat was too cold. Not having any idea to visit this place again.

Just awful. The food all has this grayish-brown hue to it. I literally had to force myself to swallow the very little amount that I actually ate. The server noticed that I wasnt eating my food and asked if I would like something else, I politely declined. I cannot recommend that anyone eat here. I honestly feel bad writing this as it could have an impact on whether others go here, but if they took themselves seriously they would know that there is something wrong with the food.

So happy to have found Asia Chow Mein! Its on par with one of my favorite childhood Chinese restaurants long lost in Crystal, MN, K-Wongs. I dined in and had the lunch special with chicken chow mien, white rice, pork egg foo young, wonton soup, and black tea. The service was quick and friendly. The food was so delicious, that I could hardly stop eating the generous portions. The prices are also fantastic. Carry out for dinner is on the near horizon for this happy customer.

We picked up food through the drive thru, so I cant attest to Service or Decor. Brought the food home, opened it up, and everything -EVERYTHING- had the same brownish hue to it, and tasted exactly the same; which leads me to believe that they season everything with the same bottle of soy sauce. Ive heard the egg rolls were excellent, and upon biting into one I realized Ive had better from a box out of my freezer. Thoroughly disappointing; we wont be back.

Honestly the best, been going here pretty much my whole life. Love the food and the staff is great. If you have any food restrictions make sure you ask. But really all the food is amazing. Dont let a couple bad reviews by some people sway you. If you have any problem with the food just let the staff know and they will correct it. They are family run and care about their customers, just dont be rude. They have no intention to upset customers
