We discovered this restaurant about 2 years ago. As Im posting this review I noticed the average rating is 4, which is hard to believe. The food is ALWAYS delicious. If you go you have to try the egg rolls. They are always plump large and delicious. My personal favorite is the "Zesty chicken". I believe the main flavor is ginger, but what ever is is you have to try it. The wait staff is basically run by a "main waiter" with assistance by others to make sure your lesser needs are attended to. My wife claims they have the BEST "hot and sour" soup she has ever had. We highly recommend this restaurant!

STAY FAR AWAY! There are THEIVES at Mecius! EXTREMELY poor customer service. Never had chicken and broccoli in a white sauce, and it tastes like there is absolutely NO seasoning. First and very last visit. Extremely disappointed. Next time, Ill just drive an hour to Oishii in Katy. UPDATE: Upon checking my online banking records, I see that I was CHARGED MORE than what I agreed and signed to pay!! Luckily, I have my receipt AND this garbage food. I WILL contact my bank first thing in the morning. Lucky for Mencius, they are closed today (Monday). Otherwise, Id be on their doorstep.

Ive lived in the Houston area all my life. One day, I drove to the north side of town to Kingwood for business and found this chinese restaurant. This place has the best chinese food! The food was fresh and the atmosphere was elegant but casual. They also had a full bar and a great wine selection. They had new creations that Ive never tasted before. Their off-the-menu items were to die for. My favorite was their white fish in garlic sauce, salt & pepper shrimp and thai spicy chicken. Theyve been around for over 20 years. Theyre definitely worth the trip!!!

This has been a longtime Kingwood staple. I have always enjoyed this restaurant. I think it one of the better Kingwood Chinese restaurants. They offer a high level of service in the evening, and can get you in and out during lunch. Their early bird dinner specials are just right when you want to go in for an early dining experience too. I personally love their triple delight, and their cherry chicken. You go here enough they will treat you like family and call you by name.

DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY WITHOUT ASKING ABOUT THEIR FUEL CHARGE. It is in addition to their delivery charge, which is disclosed and added if your order is under $18. They add the fuel charge and DO NOT DISCLOSE it. They took $3, gave one to the delivery kid and kept two bucks for themselves. The food is good but these people are dishonest. When I asked why it was not on the website, first he said it was, then seemed concerned that it was not and said "Ill look into that". Nice.

AWESOME, friendly, fun, delicious & fresh. I have never had a bad dish at this place. They also have "off the menu" items. Even have steak night. YUMMMMMMY. The owners are pleasant, warm and very friendly. As soon as the front door is opened the excellent hospitality begins. Stop in and try it, you will not be disappointed. If your in the party mood there is a full bar and excellent wine selection.

My husband and I have been eating at Mencius for over 25 years and have never had a bad experience. Our favorite waiter knows just what we like and occasionally we surprise him by choosing something different. Cindy and Horace are wonderful! We highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting quality Chinese food and great service.

This place is not what it used to be like when Horace and Cindy ran it. Dont believe me, order that $3.75 Shrimp Roll, i used to order there just for these. They kept the old menu and prices but threw away the quality. Please try it and you be the judge.

Great tasting food. Ordered General Tsoa Chicken and shrimp fried rice. The shrimp was done perfectly and the chicken was very tender and flavorful. Some of the best Chinese food I had in years.
