Came for carry out an hour before they closed and they were already counting the cash and shutting down. It felt pretty obvious that they were complaining and making jokes in front of me at my expense. Food is expensive and service wasnt that great even for carry out. Everything on the menu is $15 or more. It took less than 5 minutes to make my food which I have never seen at any Chinese restaurant. That made me very apprehensive to even eat it. The meals were nothing like any other Chinese restaurant, barring the crappy ones you see in small towns where no one has an understanding of good food. The place was suggested to me by someone else who says they are good. Maybe I caught them on a bad day. My first and last attempt. My suggestion to them is not to make comments in another language in front of a customer in the middle of a conversation and then start laughing. It doesnt make your guests feel very comfortable. Do NOT get the general tso. You WILL be disappointed. It was a horrible $18 mistake that is turning my stomach as I am typing. It was not sweet and spicy with thick rich sauce. Instead, it was sour and bitter with a runny watered down soupy sauce that made the chicken soggy and too soft. They want crazy with the soy sauce Instead of hoison.

Seing all the medals of excellence right at the foor, I had great expectation from this place. I first ordered shrimp and beef fried rice. It looked pretty garnished, I was excited just looking at the glistening/greasy beef and rice. Upon closer look I have noticed that the shrimps werent deveined. Because I have no interest eating shrimp poo, I politely asked to have it switched to a plate of beef fried rice. They executed promptely. I thought to myself "they are at a 3 already just for service!" However the new fried rice they gave me barely had ANY MEAT and didnt look fresh at all. It had no salt. It was as bland as it can get. I found 3 pieces of beef in the whole box. I didnt want to end up pissing them off so I just got home, seasoned the rice and ate it. Thats a pretty dishonest practice as I still paid full price for this meal. The guy seem cool, but honestly It was a waste of money. I dont understand what kind of palate the 5 star givers have, but this place is not fine. Verdict: decently priced, but NOT worth a penny I recommend: After the 3rd time; nothing . Everything is bland. Wont go again.

NEVER EAT HERE! If I could give it ZERO STARS I WOULD! Website prices are wrong! and when I confronted the lady behind the counter she yelled at me and assumed I went to the wrong website. Then when I tried to get my money back the bitchy lady behind the register tried to refund me $5 less then what I originally payed. And she got mad at me when I corrected her and claimed she "grabbed the wrong receipt" even though I could see the register still said 20.32 (which was my original total). The manager watched all of this happened and did nothing. Terrible customer service. Ive never been treated so poorly at any restaurant or public area in my life. I can see why there as a million one star reviews on this place. I repeat NEVER EAT HERE!

Food is good. There are vegetarian options (but you have to remember to ask to hold fish/oyster sauce in otherwise seemingly vegetarian dishes.) Cheese wontons with spicy mustard(horseradish?) sauce are delicious. The only reason I dont go here more frequently is that the folks who take to go orders up front or on the phone are often really unpleasant. I always tip 20% on to go orders and am polite when ordering so I dont have much tolerance for snarky staff who scowl at customers like they are pestering them by ordering food. If it were just me Id assume I was unknowingly doing something wrong or impolite, but Ive seen them treat plenty of customers this way.

Terrible just terrible. We ordered Beef Chow Fun and received bland overcooked noodles with no zing. Chow fun should be a staple for any Chinese chef with integrity. It should be bursting with the rich flavors of oyster sauce fresh garlic and scallions (green onion. Again ours arrived overcooked and lacking any flavor. Another disappointment was the dumplings which on their own were just ok but the dipping sauce was all one note -RW vinegar. No fresh ginger, no chili, no flavor other than heartburn. How about the frozen egg rolls -Yummo love the freezer burn! Dont waste your money here

DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE! The food os terrible. On top of that, I ordered from grub hub and the portion was much smaller than requested. And the extras added were not included. When i called to let them know, instead of working to remedy the problem; they told me "the portions seem smaller to me because I am a young man. And typically the people that order from them are older." I was shocked when I heard this. So I say again, DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS PLACE.

Hands down the best in town. My family and I have been coming here for almost 25 years. The owner, Andy, has watched me grow up. This may be the only restaurant that Ive never had anything bad ever come to the table (or in a to-go). Felt inclined to write a review and let people know that if you want the most bomb Chinese food in all of Minneapolis, come to the Great Wall!!

The Great Wall has always had good food and friendly service but tonight I had a craving something that wasnt on the menu. They not only cheerfully accommodated my request but made a helpful suggestion that improved the food I was ordering! My hats off to the Great Wall! I would highly recommend you give them a try.

Their sesame chicken is the best Ive ever had. Same would go for the kung pao shrimp. Among others, now that I think about it. Ive never had something distasteful there. Its a solid mom / pop shop. It is pricey. And the restaurant setting isnt anything to die for. But the service and food make up for it.

id give zero stars if i could, but the service was really great - friendly, fast, and good with my kids. but the food is subpar, and thats being complimentary. we ordered two appetizers (egg rolls and cream cheese wontons) and two entrees to split. everything tasted bland and old. will not return.

Service was good and I didnt get food poisoning, but thats all. Ordered Lo Mein, it was a big mass of thin noodles with a few pieces of meat and vegetables. The egg rolls were a bit better, but just barely OK. Prices are very high, which the food dont justify at all.

We both became ill after eating take-out lo men and chow mien, the chicken in each was old--you could taste that it had been in the fridge a few days too long. About an hour after we ate, both of us had GI issues. So disappointing, a Saturday night in, ruined.

Great Wall is amazing. I have been coming on a regular basis for 30 years. The food is always hot and delicious. 3 years ago I became Gluten Free and they can adapt many dishes including the fried rice which is one of my favorites.
