The Pita Café is the best Middle Eastern cuisine in Michigan, bar none! I have dined at many Middle Eastern restaurants including the infamous La Shish and I tell you they cannot hold a candle to the Pita Café. The house salad is the best ever and the brick oven baked bread is to die for! The garlic spread/sauce is so yummy it sends me to the edge! They have the best Shawarma sandwiches anywhere! I have never had a bad experience with the wait staff or the food. The food is always consistent and the wait staff have always been attentive and aim to please from the time you walk into the door, until you leave. If you have never eaten Middle Eastern food, this is the place to start and order the sampler platter for a full experience of what Middle Eastern food has to offer. Or, order the house salad, a side of humus and the brick oven bread and it will send you to heaven! Be careful though because the food will haunt you until you get more!

I have been in the food business for 12 yrs as a catering manager. Went there with two friends it was pretty slow there that day. They had one other table that was occupied besides us. There were 3 waiters sitting down goofing off and playing with their cell phones by the kitchen. I finally hailed one down after 20 min. He yelled across the restaurant in Arabic to a another waiter chatting with a buddy at the raw juice bar. and then told us he will be right there to take our order, mind you this place isnt that big any one of them could have taken our order. We waited another 15 min and nothing, no acknowledgment whatsoever. so we finally just left. I have never in my life seen such appalling service. Being in the restaurant business for so long i know how stressful a kitchen can be, but this was uncalled for. First time and last time coming to this place.

Ive been a frequent customer for about 4 years now and the only problem I have is the lack of friendliness and concern. I had a waiter spill some of the hot water from my glass of tea on the table very close to my arm and for whatever reason she walked off without acknowledging the issue at all. Not an offer to wipe it up (there were no napkins at the table for me to clean it), or even a simple apology. She just sat the glass down and walked away. For a business their just needs to be a more welcoming, respectful atmosphere thatll keep people coming back for the great food selections you all do have. Theres more and more competition (Mezza Mediterranean in Southfield for example) for you all to not consider that customers are the reason businesses are able to maintain.

I grew up with Middle Eastern Food and eat it in restaurants all over the country. To call the food here "okay" would be generous. The fried kibbe had a very peculiar flavor such that I couldnt finish it. The baba ganoush had so much lemon in it that you couldnt taste the eggplant. The fried cauliflower was good but a little undercooked. The fresh, hot pita bread was the only bright spot on the table; it was delicious. After reading earlier reviews about the poor service, I am happy to say that my service was actually pretty good. Needless to say, I will not be returning.

Despite the food being decent, I would choose a different place for Middle Eastern food due to the terrible service and some servers being disrespectful and insulting. Went for lunch today, drinks were not refilled, not even once, even after us asking. Our waitress really went overboard with "sweetie" and "honey" She mustve address me "sweetie" at least twenty times.I am writing this review, do I really sound like a "sweetie" which is besides the point anyways. Very degreading attitude. We will choose the competition in the area next time we want to go for Middle Eastern food.

I adore the food at Pita Cafe. I eat there, usually take-out, a few times per week, every week. The dine-in service is also very good. It doesnt hurt that everyone in the place knows my name and greets me like Norm from Cheers when I walk in the door. I am particularly enamored of the deboned chicken. The salads are excellent. I dont think that there is a shred of cheap iceberg lettuce in the place. Also, as others have mentioned the thoom (garlic spread to you infidels) is the best Ive had. The complimentary fresh baked hot rolls are not to be missed.

When this was suggested to me by Googles search engine I expected it to be a quick lunch spot. My expectations were far exceeded. The food was phenomenal. The pita bread had a sweetness I am not used to but it was still good. My chicken lemon rice soup was the perfect blend of savory and sour. The chicken kabob and rice were amazing. I didnt even get to finish my food, I had to take it home in a box.

Went there for a business lunch. Food was delicious! The sajook was nice and spicy! My companion had the deboned chicken, which was cooked perfectly! The hot bread served to the table was a great way to kick off lunch! Server was very friendly and attentive even though the restaurant was very busy. Kept our waters filled and bread basket full!

This restaurant has some of the best food I have ever enjoyed. My compliments. This restaurant has some of the worse servers I have ever encountered. Some of them are plain out losers and pigs. I have not returned to this establishment in over a year. They have not cleaned up their act, and as a result, they can kiss it.

The food is wonderful, the service is insultiny at times. I have had to find another place to enjoy Middle Eastern food due to their service. Carryout isnt as bad as dining in service. If you like good dood, great place... However if you want to enjoy food & get the service you deserve-finsld another location.

Simply an enjoyable and delectable experience. Authentic Middle Eastern food made by Middle Eastern people. Fresh baked bread daily and freshly squeeze juice to order. The service can be a little slow sometimes. Not as attentive as i would like, but the food is excellent making up for the service. Chef Bell

The food is great. The service however has gotten terrible. For so long this had been my favorite restaurant. I never had any complaints before but these days perhaps they take their loyal customers for granted. The current manager at the Greenfield location is very rude and some of the staff as well.

Quality Mediterranean - has become my go-to for lunch. The staff is also very courteous and great at catering to the lunch crowd that needs to get in and out quickly. You cant go wrong with the shawarma plate and crushed lentil soup. Fresh bread served hot is as good as Ive had anywhere.

This is the best middle eastern food in the Metro Detroit area. There was a point in time where I ate dinner here every day for three months. Their deboned chicken is the best I have ever had. You will not be disappointed. Everyone I introduce to this spot also become addicts.
