Today is March 17, 2017 St. Patricks Day...me and my husband went to this place, because it was given great reviews...when we drove up, it was no where to park it was packed.I thought great its going to be live in the inside..I was so shocked upon entering the building it is a DUMP...NO!!.TABLES, NO!!..CHAIRS...NO BAR STOOLS IN THE WHOLE PLACE!!!!...it was cold outside with snow on the ground...I almost broke my neck getting in,because it wasnt salted outside...then the bathrooms..are outside in the back...in the cold... porta johns...they where nasty and cold, and in the dark. They said they had a heated tent outside...NO IT WASNT!!!! it was plastic you get from home Depot for Windows insulation tacknow up...with NO HEAT!!!...IM LIKE WHERE IS THE HEAT... I AM FREEZING...REALLY ITS WAS NO HEATED TENT OUTSIDE...PEOPLE was standing around outside in the cold....futhermore if you are Handicap like me...this place is definitely not for anyone thats handicap...I left my walker in the car..because it was crowd, and just held on to my husband arm..I shouldve bought it in, and use it for a chair...THIS IS MY SECOND time doing out for St..Patricks Day!!!...the first time we went to Caseys off Michigan...Ave ....Caseys has this place beat...hands down....I will never come back to NANCY WHISKEYS ever again..until they fix and clean this place up...add some tables and chairs...and make it handicap ready....And by the way when we pulled up it was a stretch limousine outside...now you gotta Wonder who would be in a stretch limousine and come to this dump on st. Patricks Day out of all the places to go in Detroit...why would they stop here....oh yea!!!...looking at fake reviews like me...because they pulled off when we left.

Detroit Bus Company Drunks of Antiquity Historic Bar Tour stop. I understand that this place has enjoyed a renaissance among hipsters and suburbanites looking for a historic place before some other event that brought them downtown to begin with. But - at least during our visit - its not for me. We had (a) poor service - which was, in part, due to multiple pub crawls converging at the same time, (b) a drunk stumble into my wife and almost knock her over, (c) overcrowded restrooms including obnoxious women using the mens room - thankfully, I can piss outside, (d) someone puke in the middle of the floor, and (e) a mild but constant smell of weed during our brief time here. That having been said, I could see this as a nice stop before a Tigers day-game... During daylight hours... Before the bus tours start.

This is a great place..one of Detroits hidden gems. The place suffered a fire well over a year ago and after extensive renovations its finally back open again. I havent been there since the re-opening and Ive always been there on Thurday nights to hear some great blues. Thursday nights used to be open mic night where anyone could come in and put there name on a sign-in sheet to get a chance to play along (or just sing) with the band or perform alone. Ive heard some really great stuff there...even some quartets from Chicago. Its loud if only because the place is pretty small. Yeah, the neighborhhod has seen better days and can be daunting at first, but heck---the Fox Theater isnt in the best part of Detroit either. If you havent been...get there and give yourself a treat!

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! Came here after eating at Slows. Got there as the band was setting up. Drinks are good and strong, the staff introduced themselves to us (although I got drunk and cant remember them now, sorry guys). They were SO friendly and really took care of us the entire night. The blues band was amazing, couldnt help but dance. We tried some onion rings at the end of the night too and they just hit the spot. Place is clean and just amazing.

Great little blues bar, one of the few left in Detroit. Food is good, so are the bands. Saw a guy named Bennie Reeves there, didnt think much of the name, but there was a woman in the crowd who looked real familiar. Turns out she was Bennies sister, Martha..... Some of you may have heard of her. Sorry Martha Reeves, but your bro has a much better voice. Just sayin.....

Complete dive bar, and I love it. Unapologetic in its location and history, with a feeling that the "Always Sunny" crew would find this place amenable to their shenanigans. Fast food service, decent whiskey (obviously) and a welcoming environment all around. Highly recommended for anyone looking to set up a lifestyle a la "Cheers"

The Old school Detroit experience at its finest. Beer and a whiskey shot type place. In a pretty rough neighborhood but if you are comfortable in Detroit stop in for a shot. So much history in this little place. Awesome back covered patio for warmer months. Been a Corktown staple since 1902.

We had a gathering of Marines here. Cool bar. I miss places like this. Seems all we have in the Burbs are faceless chain restaurants and bars. Good to be at a place where the barkeep shakes your hand when you leave and actually seems sincere when he says come on back."

I just had lunch at Nancy Whiskeys and it was the best burger Ive had in a long time! Sheryl served us, was very friendly, and she took our order right away. I love the renovations. I will definitely be returning, and will recommend Nancy Whiskeys to everyone!

This place, although more modern and up to date, reminds me of the Two Way Inn.. My wife and I felt it as if it were a doppelganger. lol.. They respect there history and are excited about it. We loved our short visit. Beer prices were good.

Found my co-founder for my business there so I am biased but they have $2 drafts on certain days and a great atmosphere for music playing there. Went on Sunday and watched the walking dead with other people and was just the best time.

Good local bar. Usually has good music playing. Love the owners. They have always been been nice every time we visit. Definitely worth a stop if your looking for a bar without multiple large tvs or a bar that locals love to hit up.

I would like to start off with how great Patrick is as a bartender, such a lovely person. This is the best bar in the corktown area I would say. You meet the best people and have the best time. I love you Nancy whiskeys!!!!

Nancy Whiskey is a Detroit institution. Friendly crowd, great Iive music, old fashioned fun. It is a neighborhood bar and has the feel of a multi-generational gathering place.

From the great live tunes (never a cover) to their back patio space...this place is a must visit. Perogi pop ups are the bomb as well. Watch for them on Facebook.

Nice place in a not as nice area. Bartenders were great and customers were friendly. Only have Guinness on tap but what else do you need in an Irish Pub.
