Up from Ohio to see friends this weekend. (First weekend off in a while). Had a regular bar going experience on Friday at Red Fox but ending our night there on Saturday revealed some great inconsistency. Arrived around 1am and their curly blonde waitress/hostess from our perception came across as annoyed that we even decided to stop in. We chose to hang out on the patio and enjoy the fire pit. Everything is going well with drinks and last call at 1:30am. With the insistence of our waitress the group orders one final round at 1:35am. Then another waitress comes out to turn off the fire pit, without saying anything, suggesting we move inside, or give courtesy to our comfort as it is 45 degrees outside. The pit dies down in 2 minutes and leaves us to chill as we finish our drinks. So much for enjoying the Fall weather next to fire in company of friends. One of us is an executive chef, myself a manager at a major hospital. Reasonabley you could conclude we know a little bit about hospitality and service. I ask my executive chef buddy if hed ever close his place down with patrons present before listed closing hours, he responds with a "no". Hey...we all have long nights, deal with undesirable behavior from people, but here I was sober as could be trying to enjoy every minute of company with just slightly buzzed friends, at an establishment of hospitality we chose, and they are either intentionally or unintentionally ushering us out before closing. Maybe we should have picked another spot but these decisions by staff put a damper on a rare weekend we had to get together. How would your staff feel if they were patrons in a similar situation? The lack of empathy and consideration was simply off-putting. Those small things and staff attitude matter. It mattered more considering our circumstances. Treat your patrons like honored guests, people go to bars to relax/have fun, not be treated like nuisances.

Hostess told us there was a two and half hour wait. We just wanted a beer so asked if we were able to just grab a beer at the bar and head outside, to which she said that we could but we couldnt get food service unless we waited. When we walked in we didnt understand how there could be a two and half hour wait since there was no line at the door and half the tables were empty. Anyways, we get our beer at the bar to take outside as we planned. Bartender shorted me $5 on my change. Waited a few minutes to get her attention again and she did correct it and apologize so not a huge deal. We go to a table outside (one of 5 empty tables outside) and before we even sit down a waiter asks if the hostess sat us and we said no but she said we could take our drinks out here and he replied "you gotta go!" He was abrasive and rude through the entire interaction. We asked a waitress for a manager and this waiter "John Broder" came back (same guy as before) claiming he was the manager. Didnt look or act like one. Proceeded to blame us for the previous altercation and when I said its not our fault if the hostess told us something wrong and you could have politely explained the mistake, he retorted asking if any of us work in a restuarant. Not sure the relevance, but two of our 4 actually do and they found him laughable as a server let alone a manager. He ended up giving us a gift card...which will never get used because well never be back. I have never left a negative review online for a restaurant and never even asked for a manager at a restaurant but this guy is so far not cutout to be in the customer service industry and he killed the mood of the night. Will never return and have plenty of friends that I meet in royal oak and will encourage them to avoid this place that cant even handle half their tables being sat on a Saturday night at 10pm.

Went there to watch tottenham vs Chelsea match on Sunday morning at 1030am since red fox claims to be a home pub for both teams. There were 60 to 70 customers present through the duration of the match. However, there was only one waitress and one bartender the entire match. We had wanted to order food too but they never even got us a menu. The owner was sitting downstairs watching the game in diablos, the cooks were trying to help out as much as they could and the manager had done a terrible job scheduling and set up the entire place to fail. I would never attend this restaurant for another game. They should give up their label as a home pub if this is how theyre going to staff. I had one drink order the entire 3 hours and was checked on once.

The waitstaff was so incredibly slow, often just standing by the edge of the bar talking to each other. It took a long time to get our initial drinks and then a longer time after that to order food. The table next to us that sat after us left because of the waitstaff ignoring them... The food was fine, nothing to write home about. I guess if youre there to watch a game or might be tolerable just sitting there with one drink, but dont expect the waitstaff to be quick to get you another or even acknowledge your existence.

The fish and chips were bland, and the fries showed up cold. My Boddington ale was flat and warm. The tiki masala fries were strange and messy. The beer menu is confusing. Theres a large section called "on deck", which lists beers you will be able to order when current ones run out. They were out of at least two beers when we visited, but we still werent allowed to order anything from "on deck". Why devote a fourth of the beer menu to stuff you cant order? The rooftop setting is pretty cool.

Came her for the weekend to meet up with friends. This one of the few places that didnt have a cover. Also it was nice and chill. Downstairs was like dancing but upstairs was a rooftop with firepits and a lot of seating and standing area. Drink specials were non existent. Typical for a weekend. Was excited they carried a few British beers. Great selection overall. If you want both worlds the quiet and the dancing this is the place. Check it out

Wonderful beer selection. It can be a bit intimidating but the staff are so helpful youre sure to make a good decision for yourself. The location is upstairs above Diablos, which isnt very noticeable as you walk in, but theres signs right by the stairs. The outdoor seating is very comfortable and the tv sports selection indoor is very nice. This is a great place to meet up with friends during the week or have a date on the weekend.

Good beer selection. Bad service and worse food. $10 gets you 2 oz of "bratwurst" on a stale bun $8 gets you more stale, & burnt overly deep fried pretzels.... Food is literally disgusting and is not edible. Start over in the kitchen from scratch. Poutine gravy classifies as BBQ sauce & could technically be worse than prison gruel. Gordon Ramsey would flatten this place if he ever visits. Love the view, and great tvs.

Was here to watch a WorldCup soccer game. Nice decor and great looking roof patio. Service was decent. I had the Lord Fox burger which was excellent. Beer selection is pretty good. One downside: I was seated at a table next to an automatic sliding door to the roof patio and whenever I moved I set of the motion sensor causing the door to open and it was quite windy outside. They need to move or remove this table.
