I wish I could select a 0 for a rating. This place dosent deserve a title of anything other than, a bunch of unqualified people, who dont have any work ethic or people skills to be paid any sort of wage for standing behind a counter inside a building. This crap-hole so called cafe is nothing of the sort. Its more like a whole in the wall spot, typical of just that, from the horrible sharpie graffiti on the bathroom walls, to the untrained everyday nothing else to do but stand around workers to the attitude you get when you call, walk-in, or stand outside and think about walking in. Have a problem? Might as well go on with your day and forget about it, because its not going to get resolved. Management. I think they just enjoy calling themselves that, because the fact they cant "manage" anything defeats the purpose of actually being one. Now, onto the experience. (Walk-in) cant hear yourself think let alone order. The previous comments are very true. (Dont think about calling in) youll either be on hold for 20 mins while you get to hear joking and no orders being taken as they obviously forgot that they took the time to answer a phone. I wish I could post a video I took to show the hold its crazy. Now, the ordering. We went in late, I dont know if that should make a difference or not, but it wasnt 30 mins to close or anything, but it was late. That being said, I ordered with the young fellow at the register, 3 for 6, I stated. 1 hot chicken, 1 veg and 1 vegan all on flour. Sub onion with jalapenos and pico with verde sauce please. He replied, "Ok, so a chicken burrito and what else..." Annoyance level 3.. "No", I replied, "ONE HOT CHICKEN, ONE VEG and ONE VEGAN NO ONION SUB WITH JALAPENO AND SUB PECO WITH VERDE PLEASE." Now, he replies, "Did you still want that chicken burrito?" Annoyance and uncomfortable level 6.. "Burrito? I didnt order a burrito", I said. "So, then just 3 hot chicken a veg and a vegan no onion", he replied... Now, Im just ready to leave... No man.. 3 for 6.. thats One hot chicken, one veg and one vegan, no onion sub jalapeno and pico with verde.. "Ok", he said, "but were out of Jalapeno". What do you mean youre out of Jalapeno, I asked? He said, "We threw them out"... "Um.. ok." I said quite confused. Acutely, we threw out the shrimp and only have enough to do 1 pork taco and the rest chicken, he states" I said fine, whatever you have to do. "$6.36 please" he said. .. I paid. Now, I watch my tacos being made.. along with onion.. I yelled, "NO ONION" they look at the ticket and begin to pull onion off. I get my tacos, with raw onion.. I explain why is the onion on the tacos still. They said its in the pico. I said I know and see that.. However, I said no onion. Which means, no onion, i dont care if its in the pico, no onion, anything with onion I dont want obviously, so after going back and fourth about him trying to pick off more onions, I left the tacos and left. Didnt get a refund just left. Now, im not too worred as I leave tips for more than 6 dollars. However, when I tried to call back and talk to someone, I was put on hold for 20 mins the first day. Just got off the phone now, with the "manager" after wanting to talk to someone else, who said if I ever have a problem to contact them. while just stating what do you need on the phone. I hung up. This place is horrible. i wouldnt recommend it to anyone, nor will i ever go back. EVER. Id steer clear, go to taco bell youll still get people who hate the job, but the food will be prepared, theyll have what you want, youll get it in a timely manor and maybe even with a smile. Hot Taco sucks. Hope this helps everyone before entering the crap hole ever.

I strongly advise against going to this restaurant. I visited Hot Taco on a Saturday evening for what will be the first and LAST time. My boyfriend and I walked in immediately upon a confrontation between the employee behind the register and a customer. The customer had offered to buy a meal for a homeless man, however the employee would not allow the man to sit inside of the restaurant, saying something along the lines of he would "lose his job." The customer remained calm while arguing that the man was getting out of the rain (it was late, cold, and windy this particular night), but this employee continued to argue and yell at this woman, until she and the man peacefully walked out of the restaurant. The young woman returned to complete her order, and the employee continued to be rude to her, cursing and calling her out of her name, and she left visibly upset. I for one was disgusted with that particular employees lack of manners and basic human respect. Beyond that, our order (which was two hot chicken burritos) took more than 20 minutes to be completed, even though it was a relatively slow night for them. Employees were slow to address customers when they entered the restaurant, slow food prep, and quality of food was average at best. Based on past reviews, Hot Taco sounds like it was once a nice alternative to the many burger joints downtown, but I can honestly say that it no longer holds up to the hype.

I went here with a friend after a night of dancing to get a late nite snack. Id seen this place before and it was really crowded so I wanted to come back and check it out. The tacos were just okay. They were lacking in heat and could really use some acid and freshness like tomatoes plus they were very light on the cheese. The restaurant is a very small hole-in-the-wall dive that you could miss if you blinked twice. As for the staff, everyone in there needed a hairnet on (especially the cashier) and Im not sure if its because it was 2 a.m. and they were ready to go home but they should wait until the customers leave before they crank up the music and start dancing and talking loud while people are still waiting for their food. I would also encourage the employees to refrain from making jokes and sarcastic comments to intoxicated guests. Otherwise, if youre kinda drunk and dont care what your restaurant looks like or how your food tastes and dont expect the greatest customer service, this place will do. Normally I look forward to eating at these kinds of places because sometimes they have amazing food. This was disappointing.

What a Joke! Some friends and I went to order Delivery from Hot Taco, we had about 5 people going in on the order and simply wanted to pay with 2 different cards and the rest in cash for the order. We figured consolidating the order for 1 delivery would offer them convenience and be a helpful thing to do. Hot Taco told us that they wouldnt take multiple cards per order, so we hung up with them, figured it out, and called them back. At this point, we had 1 card for a part of the order, and cash for all of the remaining... totaling 100.00 worth of business and they still had a problem with it. They told us, They "werent going to punch it in individually and if we wanted to run a card, to come into the store and theyd run it." So, at this point they only wanted cash and that wasnt something we could do. Weve ordered from them many times before and havent had any issues, or even a heads up that this was a problem for them. Well, Sorry to inconvenience you Hot Taco, well give our business to someone who appreciates it. Sincerely, Myself, and 485 Co-Workers who will feel the same way. #SpreadingTheWord
