My boyfriend and I vaguely remember trying Taco Loco as children with our families and we drive past it all the time so we decided to try it again as adults. Well, either we were completely betrayed by our memories or things have gone downhill drastically. I would not recommend families going for a sit down meal, it was as loud as a busy bar on a Friday night, (keep in mind we went on a Tuesday evening) with the music and TVs going and people trying to yell over each and every noise. We had to yell across the booth to hear each other. Not only was it loud, but it was dark, not dim eating light, but dark and dingy, with a dirty feel to it. The waitress was overly persistent to get our dinner order, NOW, not giving us any time to look at the menu. She did not bother to let us know which salsa was mild and which was spicy, and my 9 yr old ended up taking a big chip full of the one put in front of her, which was NOT the mild. I also have to say, those were the WORST chips AND worst salsa I have ever had in my life. Im not sure how you can screw that up, but they did. They tasted like the aftertaste of vomit. After we ordered, yes we foolishly decided to stay, the waitress was nowhere to be found so we could order a cocktail to go with dinner, so we had to go to the bar to order a drink. I have bartended for 6 years, and I would be ashamed to serve a margarita that tasted like that, let alone charge $7 for it. When the meal FINALLY came, it was dry, and completely flavorless. I will admit, the portions were a decent size, but Im not going to chose quantity over quality. I tried to add some of the hot sauce that was offered at the table to try to rehydrate my meal, but the sauce tasted like a spicy Good N Plenty. My daughters medium-well stake was like leather, and she was unable to cut it with the stake knife. They should have used THAT to patch the rip in the sticky, sinking booth. Never again will I eat at this disgrace of a restaurant. I have paid the price for choking down this joke of authentic Mexican food not only being annoyed, disappointed, ripped off, and yes, having rock gut the entire next day.

Google should not post unfounded allegations about a foodborne illness. It is interesting that Taco Loco serves hundreds of people every day. Yet only one person became ill on each of the days mentioned in the two reviews below. If the food was truly at fault, more people would have become ill and the local health department would have conducted a thorough investigation. And this was not done! These matters are considered serious and unfounded allegations can damage a business unfairly. Unfortunately a disgruntled former employee or a dissatisfied customer(due to wait time, refusal to take a coupon) can use this review process to get even with the business for a personal reason. I urge Google and all other organizations to refuse to post allegations regarding a foodborne illness unless they have been investigated and documented by the local health department. Lets keep the review process within the guidelines originally intended; quality of the food, service and the ambiance of the restaurant. Unfounded allegations have no place in the review process. They serve to distort the truth and paint a distorted picture of the establishment.

Honestly, Taco Loco is the one of the best places where I can eat a quality meal without breaking the bank. My personal favorite from there is the Steak Fajita Burrito dinner; every time I order that, Im in heaven because they always cook the steak just right where it is fully cooked and yet still tender. Because I am a guacamole fanatic, I also know that the guacamole at Taco Loco is the best and I refuse to buy guac elsewhere just because I love how fresh theirs tastes each and every time that I get it. Another great aspect of this restaurant is the customer friendly ambiance of the place; all of the workers there are extremely friendly and they connect with you on a personal level to make sure that you are receiving the best service possible. If you really want the whole mexican experience, I recommend going to Taco Loco on Sundays because they have the mariachi band that plays there every Sunday so it is always a blast for the whole family to enjoy for Sunday dinner. Taco Loco always gets better and better each time that I go, they never disappoint me!

Looks like they are going under. We live about a mile away and had not visited here in about a year. Last time we visited a week or so ago, the place was more than half empty on prime time on a Saturday night. Upcharge on everything now. A dollar for a spoonful of sour cream that was runny? Another dollar for more salsa? No thank you. We will go elsewhere, where we do not get charged for every little thing. Service: our waitress was fine but some old hag kept yelling at her and others for no apparent reason. We overheard the next table complaining about her too. Kitchen got our food order wrong too and the owner was too much of a coward to come over and make things right. Throw in the decaying furnishings like the booth cushions held together with duct tape, and rickety chairs, and the constant noise of TVs blaring all evening long, and it makes for unpleasant dining. We are never coming back again and it is apparent that others are doing the same. Well past its prime. Avoid.

ok - if you have never been to mexican town or a taco bell, this is pretty good. But if you like pre-plated, micro-waved, luke warm, substandard, bland, mush piles - this place is for you. The only thing mexican is some of the people working there. I was initially hopeful when I saw this, but looking around and seeing bottles of hot sauce on the table was the first tip off the food wasnt good enough and that they recommended you doctor it up. Secondly, you could barely tell the difference between the hot and mild sauce. Which everything from that point on, tasted like it. Same consistency and flavor. One step up from pasta sauce. Pace salsa is better than what they served. It wasnt all bad. The green tomatillo sauce on the tamles was good. However, when it is paired with Uncle bens spanish rice and watery warm refried beans - it is complete trash. Save your money and the drive. Make a run for the border. Oh - by the way - it is NOT a suburb of Detroit.

Ive never seen a place so slow. It took them an half hour just to get my drinks. The food took another hour. The waitress sounded like a friggin mouse and I had to ask her 20 times to get a refill of my drink. Finally, the food was not worth the wait. Fries were bland. I put more salt on them then the Ocean, to make them even remotely feasible to eat. The chicken tenders were harder than the rocks from Appalachian mountains, which my waitor seemed liked she was from. She complained about how the computer was hard to use and after 40 mins she came back and retook our order. I was shocked by this establishment and just cant believe that there could be a place that offers guest service equivalent to a toad. This place is not good and not recommend to any human person.
