I have been going to this place for the last couple months periodically and I have recommended it to everyone. They have the best mexican food. Simply the fact that they have 4 kinds of pork, 2 kinds of chorizo and about 6 other meat choices is amazing. They have a salsa bar with fresh made salsa. They tend to have a somewhat extended wait during lunch rush, but the food comes out hot. If you happen to make it there before 10:30 or 11 - get the Huevos Rancheros - best thing on the menu. Sometimes if they are slow in the afternoon you can convince them to make it (tip the cook and hell make it for sure). If you havent tried, please do - you wont regret it.

Decent food and prices but, poor hours. They are closed on weekends and close by like 4 PM on weekdays. One time I went there and the neon "OPEN" sign was on. I tried to go in but, it turned out they were closed despite this. More recently I stopped and tried to enter but, they were closed before the closing time permanently stenciled on their door. Right now, Id only eat there if I happen to be in the area during their hours and hungry at the time. If Im specifically going out of my way for such cuisine however, Id just go to Mexican town or at least the Cuban restaurant on the other side of Campus Martius. .

Pretty good. My trinity breakfast taco had cold unmelted cheese on it, but they didnt skimp on the egg at least. The queso is basically melted Velveeta but I dont care because it tasted great! I also loved the chips and theyre unlimited! Yay! Seating can be tough and parking is never fun in that area. Definitely try to go during off-peak hours - today (Tues) around 2:15 it started to clear out. But thanks Carnival Fresh Mex for bringing breakfast tacos so close to me!

The Carnita Roja tacos are excellent, with good flavor and just the right amount of heat. The side rice is tasty and a little different than is typically found elsewhere. The refried beans were soupy but surprising tasty as well. The service is fast, but the seating area is quite basic. The salsa bar is a great idea - I only tried two types, but both were good.

I enjoyed eating my lunch here. I got a 3 chicken taco combo. It was pretty good. The salsa could be a little more chunky in my opinion. I usually dont like Mexican rice and beans but these rice and beans were actually DELICIOUS. Probably the best Ive had in awhile. Pretty fast during lunch hour. However,management and staff doesnt seem to get along well.

Get the chicken fries, theyre french fries covered with chicken, salso, and sauces. It is amazing! Thankfully Carnival Fresh also has a Supermarket in the Suburbs far north, I dont work in Detroit anymore and Ive contemplated driving all the way down just for the Chicken Fries, thankfully their main supermarket location has a restaurant too!

Catering: Phenomenal & Amazing Service! I frequently utilize Carnival Fresh for company lunches, and Danny, Joe, and their team is seriously on top of the ball when it comes to customer service and delicious food! People in my office love the nacho and burrito bar, and always line up early when we order from here.

Great menu with a nice salsa bar. A full plate lunch is in the higher price range but quality and quantity make up for it. Plenty of seating and fast friendly service. The owners work behind the counter serving customers and it shows. The spicy pork chimichanga is a must try.

Best authentic fast casual Mexican in all of downtown. Tacos are cheap and piled with meat. The burritos are some of the best I have ever had. The large serve yourself salsa bar is amazing. Place gets pretty busy for lunch. The breakfast menu is amazing as well

Amazingly delicious food, one block off the main square (campus martius) so extremely fair prices and not overcrowded! Friendly, lightning fast service. 8, yes EIGHT fresh homemade salsas for FREE to add!

The owner/manager is very disrespectful to customers. Ive came here three times now and each time he has publicly embarrassed workers. Not appropriate. Food quality is mediocre.
