My family and I used to go here a lot. Then we started noticing that the food portions were getting smaller. One night our family put in an order. We had an order of 2 udon noodles. One was VERY skimpy. It was so rediculious that I actually picked up the phone to call and mention it to the manager. I could not believe his reaction! He made so many excuses about *why* one of the noodles had less in it. He said they used prepackaged noodles so there was no way that was possible. Or that maybe they had put more in one package than the other. I told him we had gotten the udon here in the past and it was not like this. I found the manager arguing with me. At this point I said I didnt call to argue with you, just wanted you to know. He ABSOLUTELY did NOT care whatsoever. I told him my family and I would not be returning back to Lavender he told me to have a good night. Haha NO customer service whatsoever. RUDE and skimpy portions on their overpriced food!!! WILL NOT RETURN!!

Weve been customers for many years and the food is usually ok. However this past Friday night we picked up a take-out meal (tangerine chicken and beef with sesame) and both meals were completely overcooked and inedible. On Saturday morning I called to speak with the manager to discuss the quality of the dinner that I picked up. After not hearing back from him, I called again and finally got through to him. I explained to him that the dinner that we picked up was overcooked and tasted like rubber. He told me that everything was "freshly prepared" and promised that he would check with the head cook and get back to me on Sunday. Ive still not heard back from him and also didnt hear back after sending an email. Im surprised this is the way they treat loyal customers. Needless to say we will not be returning to this establishment again and advise other people to take caution with this restaurant. If you want bad Chinese food, you dont need to spend $50 dollars on it.

FOOD POISONING!! After having a horrible experience with them the day of the meal (see below), my family later that evening endured food poisoning. Unfortunately, I have had it before so I knew right away what the symptoms were and consequently what was to follow. Although I know these things can happen, the fact that they were so rude the night we ate, I knew they would be unapologetic for the tainted food we received. I would not wish food poisoning on my worst enemy so felt it was important to let people know this happened. I have never posted a review (good or bad) but between the horrible service and the food poisoning, I thought it was my obligation to share my experience.

This is a wonderful place to go eat, nothing like Lotus Blossom Restaurant down the road. You feel fresh inside the Lavender, the color makes you feel good. Cant beat their lunch or dinner take out prices, big portions, and good quality. Lotus Blossom is too pricey and very small portion of food, its not worth of going back to the aging Lotus Blossom. Try it yourself, and you will find out what Im talking about. ;)

Not terrible, but disappointing. The hostess seemed disinterested. My waiter appeared distracted, looking out the window as I thanked him as he placed food on the table (twice). One bartender was loudly talking to people at the other end of the bar from where she stood. They could all use some customer service training. The food was just okay. Im not fond of food that tastes like perfume....

Yay! Finally a fancy restaurant in LavenderTown! And it serves Shenanigan! My favorite Shanghai dim sum! Thank you Chin alive! I shared the photo of me having Shenanigan in MA and even my friends in Shanghai are jealous!. P.S. theres a very interesting club next door which makes Broadway street even better!!

The customer service is HORRIFIC! They have messed up on multiple take out orders and when you let them know they say it is YOUR fault. They then hung up on us not once, not twice, but THREE times. I would not give them 1 cent of my money again and neither should you.

Check your order if delivered. I spent $100 both times and both times I didnt receive my highest priced side. Talked with a friend today he said it happened to him. Great food but what scam. I called and was told I could return the food for a refund. NEVER AGAIN!!

I cannot beleive this restaurant is only 4 stars. It should be a 10. Everytime I come to visit my Parents in Marlborough Ma. I eat there at least once. It is fabalous. I wish we had one in Sanibel, Florida. 5 STARS ALL THE WAY......
