Went there tonight to have dinner with my girlfriend expecting to have a good time and leave smiling but definitely it wasnt the case. I ordered the lobster with ricotta stuffed ravioli ($25) and my girlfriend the entree of the day, mussels with pasta and a garlic sauce ($18). My plate didnt have enough food and that was very dissapointing. I felt like i really should have ordered appetizzers before. They dont put enough pasta and serve 2 slices of garlic bread. Thats not even enough bread to eat the sauce left (that was pretty good). I ended up asking for more bread but that was it. I was in very bad mood and hungry. Now on my girlfriends plate they forgot the pasta. The name of the plate is mussels with pasta. They brought it 15 min after the plate was served and the waitress just took the liberty to pour the pasta on what was left of my girlfriends mussels. To our surprise, the pasta was prepared with too much lemon juice. To the point where everything was bad. So at the end, we both left in a bad humor and a bit angry. I dont mind paying more to have a bigger plate. I think that anyone wanting to eat a plate with lobsters is not really concerned with paying a bit more. Not coming back, first time in life I am motivated enough to write a bad review to a restaurant.

This was such a great place at one time. Maybe its only good in the summer? Took mom and had the worst food experience Ever!! I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone!! The potato skins were pre made and burnt to a crisp. The waitress noticed and we didnt pay for it. I would have rather have had fresh potato skins made the right way. Then the bread was microwaved and hard as a rock after a few minutes if you didnt eat it fast. Then the main course for me was prime rib. I ordered it med rare and it was well done and I was told thats medium. Last time I checked medium had pink in the middle. Then they made another one for me supposed to be Med rare and again was over done. Mom got a seafood dinner she threw up after we left. She couldnt pin point it but something didnt taste right. So disappointed. The poor waitress was probably one of the nicest people too unfortunately could not say that about the keno girl ready to growl at anyone. I hope the owner sees this and makes the necessary changes or this place will sell or close cause how can they run a place like that.

What an excellent meal with a beautiful view! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive, she must have brought my dad about 5 iced teas and seemed to come over the second he was taking his last sips. My dad wanted to start with cherrystones which normally I am not that big of a fan because they are so briny. Well first off these were the elephants of cherrystones, we first thought they put 2 in each shell but they were actually just enormous. First time for me actually loving them, they were smooth and not too briny. I got fried oysters because they said the bellies on the clams were on the smaller side and I like a big belly. WOW is all I can say. The portion was gigantic and they were absolutely delicious! My dad got the stuffed shrimp casserole. It wasnt normal stuffed shrimp and instead very large shrimp on the border of a bowl of the lobster/shrimp stuffing. He loved it and ate every bite. The onion rings were very good, broccoli steamed perfectly and the cole slaw was not the overly creamy type but light and tasty. Overall it was a 5 star meal!

The food is below average! Kids grilled cheese was not fully cooked. The fish was dry and had bones in it. The "Baked Stuffed" fish claimed to be stuffed with "lobster, shrimp, scallops" what is WAS stuffed with was a paste that may or may not have contained these items! N A S T Y! The ONLY thing more nasty was the waitress when I asked why my second daughters kids meal was not free (this WAS kids eat free Tuesday, the ONLY reason we were even at this clearly sub par place) and she said it was only one per adult and that the menu said so, it did NOT! I asked her so show me where, she could not find it and go flustered! She walked off in a huff and sent the crazy rude manger to argue with me! They were SO stupid that I could barely even get her to agree that the word "KIDS" does in fact indicate the PLURAL! She then said it was the owners fault! I hope they are thrilled they argued over 5 dollars! We will NOT be back and will let everyone we know why! I give them a year until they are gone or just "seasonal"! GROSS!

This was our first time here we saw you on phantom gourmet. This is very sad to say it will be our last. The booths in the dinning room are not wide enough for people who are fluffy or disable, you also cant sit outside the same reason. So they said to sit in the bar.OMG they are pub tables so for people with any disabled or for a family member in a wheelchair your out of luck. Thats #1. #2 we sat for 10 min. before we place our food order and as the very very nice waitress Jeanel and she was the only nice part. Brought our salad and clam chowder to us she then told us sorry but we have no oyster we just ran out this was after we placed our food order and was waiting for 20 minutes. So I told her to cancel the food because the 12 oysters was for my husbands dinner. So we left and went another restaurant. This is sad but now I know why restaurants pay the Phantom gourmet to come in.Lol it was 3pm when we came in. Jenn

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. We enjoyed drinks at the bar while we waited for our table outside overlooking the beach. I ordered the Cajon swordfish thinking this was the perfect place to order seafood. My boyfriend ordered the baked scallops and enjoyed them. Unfortunately my swordfish was overcooked and was extremely dry. The baked potato was good but the butter never came after being asked if I wanted it. I expressed my dissatisfaction to the waiter over the swordfish. He was very nice and he said he relayed my complaint to the manager . We may come back for the view and the outside table but no big whoop over the food.

The last 3 times I went here the service is good but the food is terrible and not worth it .... For the same amount of money you can go to Mission on the Bay in Swampscott witch is so much better and youll spend the same amount of money so think twice going to tides . The oyster were disgusting they tasted like someone put water on them they were pre chucked probably and they dried up and they added water on top of them to seem that they just checked them I ordered the muscles next and I can do a better job at home with olive oil garlic white wine and a little bit of butter and they would come out awesome so last time Im going there.
