This was the most horrendous dining experience Ive had in ten years. I will detail the appalling service, but first I want to emphasize that I feel that the problem lies with management / ownership and not with the servers. I went to this place on a busy night. My friend said it was good food though the service could be pretty bad. But I was not prepared for what came next. We were told it would be a 30 minute wait for seating outside so we waited at the bar. We put our name in with the hostess. We waited at the bar for over an hour. During that time we waited 20 minutes for a beer. The bartender took our order, forgetting to get it twice. She apologized but still charged us. When I went to the hostess to check on our table. I saw that almost all of the tables outside were empty. Instead of apologizing for forgetting the hostess told me she could seat me now but the kitchen was 45 minutes backed up. So almost an hour and a half after we entered this place, we left without even getting a look at a menu. You could say it was a matter of incompetent kitchen staff, an incompetent hostess, and an incompetent bartender but I dont think so. It was very busy and there was absolutely no sign of management. It is on nights when a restaurant is busy (nights where there is a lot of $ to be made) that it is up to those in charge to MANAGE the situation. Obviously if I could rate this restaurant lower than 1 star I would.

We visited the Farm for the first time, arriving around 6:30 on a weeknight. The decor was interesting, but upon being seated, we noticed that the table was dirty and the menus were sticky. We were greeted with corn bread which was stale. I ordered the baked seafood (shrimp, fish, scallops), accompanied with French fries ad coleslaw. The seafood dish was very salty, the fries were not cooked and the coleslaw was flavorless. My companion ordered fried pickles and the fish taco special which were both enjoyable. In reading the other reviews, maybe BBQ is the way to go.

I know the food and beverage industry is difficult so it pains me to write a bad review. I dont know if they were short staffed or what. This was our first time dining there and we had a party of 9 to celebrate my mother in laws birthday. Some of the food was great but the service was non existent. Meals came and all the burgers had no tops on them. My mashed potatoes were cold and we had to ask 3 times for BBQ sauce that was supposed to be on the burgers but wasnt. The server never came back to check on our meals. Overall disappointing night out for a special occasion.

Like the previous reviewers, I had my high school reunion here. I have since been back. The food is very tasty and the portions are HUGE. The prices are very reasonable for what you get. The service has always been very friendly, even when they get very busy in the bar. There is a lot of parking but I can see the lot getting full quick during the summer. They do have an excellent back yard with horse shores, volleyball and a nice fireplace. I would highly recommend checking this place out.

AMAZING!!! We got the BBQ nachos for an appetizer... sooooooo good. Had pulled pork, cheese, fresh salsa, guacamole and sour cream. HUGE portion. My boyfriend and I both got the surf & turf. He got it with the baked haddock, zucchini, and salad, and I got it with the fried haddock, mashed potatoes and salad. We each tried each others dishes and were both extremely please. The drinks were very good, and generously strong!! The staff was very pleasant, as well. :) Highly recommended by us!!!

Oh my GAWD, the worst service EVER and I put up with a lot. Totally MIA waitstaff. I think they hire waitresses away from the RMV. DONT get the buffalo wings,,,they took an hour and were served cold and slimy with lame sauce and broken bones. Steak sandwich was good but some of the fries were served RAW. Complained but they just didnt care, I guess there are not many alternatives in Essex. I went there with a groupon and it still was not worth going. .

Been there several times, and every time we leave less satisfied than the time before. The wait staff is typically good, the renovations are nice, but the food ranges from not great to simply bad. Last night I got wings which were legitimately cold, undercooked, and the dry rub (which is execellent when done right) was just...paprika :-/. Really disappointed, and probably wont go back. I wouldnt recommend you go, either.

Yikes. The wings I ordered were cold. We had to keep reminding our server about things because she wouldnt bring refills and to-go boxes like we had asked. My friend paid $20 cash for his $8 meal and the server kept the change. He had to track them down and get his change. Then she gave him attitude when he gave her a couple bucks for a tip. Probably not going back.

This is a decent place to eat. Its good but not great. Youre definitely going to get a solid meal...just nothing amazing or special. I think I like the atmosphere and the decor more than the actual food. This is a great place to eat in the summer time. They have an outdoor eating area along with volleyball and other games. Good for the family.

Weve just found the Farm two weeks ago and have been several times! Katie our waitress was superb and ther the food was even better! Changed my plans for Mothers Day to the Farm and my family and I are heading there tonight for Fathers Day. My new favorite North Shore Dining! Everyone should have a meal at the Farm! You wont regret it!!❤️

Great food, great service. PB and J wings and Honey mustard wings were legendary. For entrees we had steak fajitas and steak tip and rib combo. Both were absolutely perfect, especially the ribs in their spicy BBQ sauce. Prices were absolutely fair and had great weekly price chopped specials. Amazing place!

This place is the best. Its a great fun environment. The food is amazing and they have a great, well stocked bar. Its the nice little touches this place has such as a volleyball court and great live bands that you dont see at most restaurants that make you want to come back again and again to the Farm.

Im not sure what the other reviews are talking about, honestly. I have enjoyed the food and drink at the Farm on several occations. The ribs are the best thing on the menu and great. The price point alone makes the Farm worth visting. The food to price ration makes this restaurant outstanding.

The atmosphere is great and their Thursday wing nights are fantastic, but over the years the quality of the food has gone downhill. I started coming here when it opened up back in 2009 and the food was great, but now the food is just average and our orders get messed up most of the time.

Great bar area away from the dining room. Outdoor area is cute with patio, fireplace, flowers, volleyball court, and a huge garden. Ribs are the best I have ever had. When you are outside youre lucky if you catch them smoking the pork! The smell is incredible!
