The food might (or might not) merit 4 stars, but the lack of value drops this a star. For the two of us we paid $70, though that included one scorpion bowl. An attempt at atmoshere is made, though not impressively. Service was actually very good considering how many tables our waitress had to attend to. There was an impressive selection of sushi/sushimi, but we didnt partake. There is not a large selection other than that, but we had no problem selecting something interesting. I dont recall any non-Japanese fare, but I wasnt looking for any so I may have just missed it. Scorpion bowl - Standard size, no fire, mixed good and strong Gyoza - 6 dumplings, nice sweet dipping sauce. Pretty standard Japanese restaurant portions and taste Edamame - Boiled soy beans dusted with salt. Exactly what it sounds like Bul guki beef appetizer - quite good. Nice tang. Lots of onions. A good choice for folks not into Asian food but end up there anyway. Tuna with wasabe - large portion of fish. Wasabe is toned down, but rather flavorful. Not worth $20 to me, but a nice big cut, and I can believe a good and fresh quality tuna Udon (with beef) Not done soup style. I should have gone with shrimp as the beef was essentially boiled. Tasty sauce though, good proportion of veggies. Bananas flambe was a nice touch, but it wasnt done at the table. Over all not bad, especailly if you arent budget-oriented. If youre looking for a semi-novel Asian place youd be better off going to the nearby Thai Palace.

Good Food... but it is not the entire story - - My wife and I have eaten at Kaizen at least a dozen times and have always been satisfied with the good food and service. We tend to stick mostly to the Sushi menu but have gone to the steaks and seafood without anything but good experience. We have had a problem which is most concerning to us and I think it has tarnished Kaizen’s reputation. We suddenly encountered charges on our debit card with Kaizen’s name as the source of the charge. We knew we did not visit Kaizen on the day in question. We worked with our bank and Kaizen every day for over a week. Kaizen continued to say they had no knowledge of these charges. In research from our end we discovered that they same exact charge was encountered at Kaizen six months previously. We brought this fact to Kaizen’s attention. They suddenly discovered that they did indeed have a problem on their end. They informed us that 44 other customers have had the same problem. We had to cancel our cards and have them reissued. This while we were also between trips was most difficult for us and quite bothersome. Being good customer’s of this restaurant we were not prepared for all this trouble without any steps made on their end to make amends we have decided to not do business with this establishment. Good food but questionable business controls to say the least. Be careful or be sorry. I would pay in cash if I were to ever go here again which is most unlikely.

Dont complain at Kaizen or the owners son will come out to the dining room and crew off your ear! Ive been to Kaizen several times for sushi and it was always very good. However I went with a friend for dinner one night and we both ordered the NY strip. It was clear that one of the two steaks that was served was just not the same quality of cut as the other. Both in the shape of the cut as well as the percentage of the fatty end of the cut. We mentioned this to our waitress who was only to happy to take the steak back to the kitchen. Shortly after the chef, who the waitress told us was the owners son, came into the dining room and began to berate me in from of other customers and my friend for sending the steak back. He kept yelling "Its portion controlled! Have you ever eaten out in a restaurant before?" Finally I asked him to just go away or I would get up and leave. Honestly I was so shocked and disturbed by his behavior I would NEVER go back. Its sad, since it seemed like a good place, but when the owners son treats a customer with such contempt I could never recommend this place to anyone.

Recently our family was traveling and stopped at Kaizen. The meal was amazing and accommodated those in the group that were sushi lovers and those who wanted a traditional meal. Those in the group that were nervous about trying sushi were converted! The service was fast and professional. To top in off, in our haste to get back on the road, one of our members left her purse. We live in Virginia! The next day a phone call was place. The staff, and especially the owner of the restaurant, couldnt have been more accommodating. She made a special trip to the post office, mailed the purse and would not even accept payment for the trouble! Good food, great service and honest personal. Who could ask for more.

Walked in today at 5pm, asked for a table for two, plenty of empty tables, young woman at front says she can seat us, but only if we can be done by 6pm, since she has reservations coming in. Never in my life have I had a restaurant say that to me. It is incredibly unprofessional to say that to a customer, basically I will seat you, but you better eat fast because you have to be done by 6. Guess I will no longer be going to Kaizen, and I will make sure to tell everyone I know. We usually visit at least once a month, and never spend less than $100. I will be taking my business down the street.

Food was just average. We ordered sushi and a salmon entrée. The issue I had was with the management. There was an intoxicated guy at the bar using very offensive language while on his cell phone. He was loud enough for family and kids to hear and this continued for some time. The hostess offered us a table in the next room away from the bar. However, management did not approach the drunk guy and allowed him to continue. They must value his business. They lost mine. I will not be back.

Eaten here about a dozen times over the last few years but never wrote a review. This place deserves 5 stars all day long. The ingredients are always fresh, the sushi made to order and absolutely delicious. The staff and atmosphere are super friendly and comfortable. Its not the cheapest sushi place youll find but well worth the money. Great for dates and romantic endeavors. Reservations recommend during dinner times Friday, Saturday, Sunday. A+.

Just went to dinner here and the food is amazing. The steak was huge and juicy and delicious and the sushi rolls are really really good. its a little pricey but its worth it. its a nice environment with perfect lighting and a great atmosphere. this place is actually where I had my first date with my boyfriend and we have been together now for five and a half years. Its a very special place to me because of that. all the food is amazing.

VERY EXPENSIVE!!! We love sushi and usually go to Natick Malls Wasabi restaurant. However due to the distance its not always possible to get there. We tried Kaizen. The food is no different, however the prices are insane for the portions they provide. I am very disappointed. The Wasabi restaurant is an authentic Japanese restaurant and the sushi one would think it would be more expensive, but its the opposite.
