I dont know, maybe it was just an off night. Ive never been to Willimantic (and am unlikely to ever return), but I did go a considerable distance out of my way, based primarily on these reviews (thatll learn me!). The bartender was friendly enough, but didnt know anything about the beer. This seems odd for a brewery, but Ive seen it before and its not a huge deal I guess. The menu did describe their own beers, so that was ok, but most of the local CT beers were listed as "Brewers Choice"...the bartender said, "Well, they change all the time, so"...um, ok, thats great but you ought to KNOW. At least know the name and the style, or have them written down. Anyway, she went and looked at the pump handles and wrote them all down for me, but didnt seem too happy about it. And it still left me having to look up each one on my phone so that I could decide what to try. The beers, both theirs and the other CT ones, were not memorable, but this is Google not Beer Advocate, so Ill spare you the details. The menu is pretty meh, all the usual pubby culprits. The "flatbread" pizza I had was awful, like something from a Wal-Mart freezer. I shouldnt judge the whole menu based on that, but the other items I saw going out didnt look especially appealing. I didnt complain; I was starving so just choked it down. The building is gorgeous, possibly worth a trip just for that, if youre into that sort of thing. Yet, they somehow have managed to turn that amazing space into...hard to describe...its just unpleasant. Other reviewers have explained this better than I can, but Id say its to do with the restaurant part being too open, and the bar section being "squished". Dont go out of your way. I should have kept on driving for the Mass border!

Have been going here for years when in the area. The last three times were so disappointing I felt I had to write a review as I no longer think it was just a fluke, but that it is going downhill fast. Went most recently this past Saturday. Had called for a reservation and our table was ready upon arrival. That was the only thing that went right. Ordered apps. They came to us cold but the waitress never returned so we could tell her, then suddenly our meals were there. Two people in our party had ordered soup and a salad that came with their meals, which did not come out before the meal. When we asked about it our server said "I thought you were taking them home". What? When the soup was finally delivered, it was also cold. At one point another customer slipped and fell (hard) right near where we were seated. When I told our server that the floor was slippery and someone had fallen she acted like she was too busy to bother. Eventually someone with a napkin came and wiped the floor. Im so disappointed because this has always been one of our favorite places to go. I will only go again for drinks and a nacho. The food is no longer worth the price.

The Willimantic Brewing Company is a great restaurant located in the old post office building on Main Street Willimantic. Great ambiance. Jordan, our server, was A+ attentive and helpful. When deciding upon which homemade draft beer he asked me a few questions then brought me two samples, both very good. I ended up with one called "Holiday Mail". Liz had the Vegetarian Chile while I had the homemade bread and a salad. I chose the Fish & Chips. The fish was excellent, and the steak fries were hot and crispy. For her entree Liz selected the Spinach Salad which was also very good. For dessert we had Carrot Cake and Coffee. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Looking around at all the other happy patrons it is obvious to me this place deserves a 5 star rating.

Horrible customer service, in person & when ordering take out. Very rude tone & as a new customer they spoke to me as if I were supposed to know the order in which they like orders to be said in. They only carry a disgusting soda brand " Hosmer Mountain" Recently I brought in my own drink and was told I would have to leave if I opened it in the restaurant. No wonder Fox News spoke bad about them. When you serve the media bad food it says a lot! The food is decent, the personalities, egos and lack of customer service skills really sucks!! Treat your customers right and maybe business will increase. Until then. Goodluck and I hope to be treated a little nicer and respectful if I ever choose to return.

Went to Willibrew on Main Street for the first time a few days ago. Though it doesnt look like much from the outside besides the post office it used to be, the inside is gorgeous; high ceilings, and plenty of seating (even though it was packed on the Sunday evening I went!). The atmosphere is a prefect combination of upbeat yet cozy and is set off by its wood decor. If youre a beer drinker like myself, this is the microbrewery to check out. Besides their own beers they have a wide variety of other beers along with a full bar. The menu is extensive, a bit overwhelming at first but theres something for everyone; cant complain about that! Ill be back soon!

This place may be the best value in terms of food quality you will ever find. Other than the occasionally overcooked burger due to how busy it gets, this placed is absolutely great. Never disappointed. Get takeout at least once a week, usually more. Not a drinker, but has an extensive list of house brewed beer. The brewing vats and much of the machinery is viewable from the dining room and adds to the restaurants wonderful atmosphere. It is an renovated post office. Definitely go here if you are in the neighborhood.

Nicknamed "Willibrew" locally. Excellent in house and local brews. Huge selection of beer, especially IPAs and Stouts. Food is great with a pretty large menu. All the meals are named after Connecticut towns, which I think is a cute addition. Portions are huge, the nachos are enough of a meal for 5 people. The atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. The building is the old willimantic post office from a time when the city was booming and the architecture reflected that success. A wonderful old building.

I have been a customer of the Brew Pub for many years now!! I love the food and especially the beer. They really take pride into what they pour into your glass For me, I have had many servers and for the most part they are all great! You get one every once and a while that looks like they had a tough day, but in what restaurant are you not going to get that? I would recommend this restaurant, and normally do bring my family there when they come to visit me from out of town :)

Damn good beer and the ambiance is cool too. The food at first blush is decent however pull back a thin veneer and its really the same processed food you would find at the competition. Be advised the cajun seasoning is loaded with salt so opting to douse your fries in it is a bad idea. We thought charging $1 for a couple of pickle slices was a little abusive too. Im not sure if their frying oil was rancid or if it was just the sodium but we could not sleep after our last visit.
