We went in at around 11:30pm, and sat on the barstools. The waitresses were standing right in front of us and we still waited 15min before they took our order. We had to be the ones to ask them to take our order and they still asked us to wait more. We ordered a burger which was burnt and french fries that were undercooked, but decided to not make a big deal out of that. We couldnt finish the food, so we waited for the check. The waitresses were gone. We waited 15min and saw the waitress who took our order chatting away with other people and browsing the internet on her tablet. We were very unhappy with the service, forget the food. We decided not to leave a tip since the waitress couldnt even say sorry for making us wait. We walked out the diner, and the waitress FINALLY decided to pay attention to what was going on. She saw we didnt leave her a tip and came outside after us, and said "Is there a reason you didnt leave me a tip?" We said, "Yes, we were unhappy with the service." Her other co-worker, who by the way was taking a smoking break instead of serving customers, took her cigarette out of her mouth and said "Well then dont come back again!" Well, dont worry, South Street Diner employees, we dont want to come back again.

Never in my life have I been so neglected and disrespected at a restaurant. It took our simpleton of a waitress about 20 minutes to come back with waters, and another 10 to come back with our actual drink orders of basic coffee and orange juice. The food took another hour to come out, and when it did, the eggs were cold, hash browns were cold and stale, bacon was undercooked, and nearly every single one of our orders was incorrect (missing ingredients in omelets, missing sides, cheese/no cheese, etc.) Not once did our stupid waitress refill our drinks or check in on us - I had to holler to get her attention. Not to mention the place is run down and disgusting and way overpriced. An oven or something caught fire as we were leaving and the whole place instantly filled with smoke To add insult to injurty, they charged my credit card TWO TIMES. Worst diner experience of my life. Hope your comfortable with running a terrible establishment that will truly get you nowhere in life.

Rude!! On so many occasions its almost unreal they will hang up on you when your placing an order if they get busy. They will talk to you like there doing you a favor taking your money. And they will try and make you stand outside in the cold behind a velvet rope as if your at a night club to get your order rude bouncer and all. That was the final straw I called from outside in my car and was told to come inside and get my order but when I walked up to the door a man blocked it saying I couldnt go in which is it? I refuse to stand behind a rope to give them my money theres no use in supporting small businesses anymore the service is suffering who would spend that much money to be treated rudely Id rather go to one of the many other place in the area or McDonalds . Its comical theres no customer service I guess your just supposed to feel lucky they are letting you buy food from them.

Looks nice from afar.. walk in and all you can smell is the bathroom.. so we sit down and our table is dirty, perhaps just not wiped yet, but 2 out of 3 sets of silverware are dirty. All the staff appear to be friendly minus our waitress. My friend ordered a beer from the tap which took a little over 10 minutes to receive and the glass was dirty. Since we are at the point of no return, we order our food which was very bland. My girlfriend received a side of fries instead of a salad even though the waitress repeated salad. I have never eaten a burger that cooked in my life and would have appreciated being asked my preference of how I would like it cooked. All said and done, the place could use a little elbow grease and a new dishwasher. Worst $20 spent ever. I would rather clean the whole place for free then be paid eat there again. Get out while you can!!

Ate there a few times as this was the only option for food in the area during late hours. The food tasted like burnt oil on a dirty grill and put my stomach in turmoil for days but what do you expect from an all night greasy spoon diner. The last time that I went here and it will be the last time, I was greeted by an impatiently annoyed waitress who after seating my party of two proceeded to tell me that we were going to have to give up our seats to give way to a party of four and that the seating rules were on the menu. This waitress warned us not once but four times and the conversation went from a casual oh by the way to agressive stalking. Wound up leaving after being further harassed by this staff member. I do not recommend this place to anyone at anytime, ever - be warned, stay away!

Pathetic excuse for a restaurant. No system whatsoever for getting guests into the restaurant in the order they arrive, incredibly rude staff offered no insight as to why people from the back of the line were called in before those who had been waiting for nearly an hour in front. I ate here once before but it has become a place to avoid at all costs. If there are redeeming qualities to this restaurant, they are more than counterbalanced by the most disorganized, rude, angry and vulgar host staff (two GROWN MEN) that I have ever encountered. Avoid at all costs unless the place is empty and there is no chance of encountering any sort of queue, because clearly this diner cant handle managing a line of maybe a dozen people. The two men working front of house tonight should be in a different field.

Food was mediocre, service was much worse. Went in at 6 a.m. on a Saturday on my way back from Logan. Sat at a cramped booth with a wobbly table top. Music was painfully loud, but one of the staff turned it down to loud when she noticed my daughter covering her ears to block it out. Coffee wasnt hot, even though the server told us she had just made a fresh pot. Had to ask three times for creamer for my wifes coffee before I got up and found it myself at the bar. Server was too busy the whole time chatting with the other pair of customers and only came back to check on us when it was time to give us our check. Not worth the money for the quality of food and definitely not worth it for the service. Go to an IHOP or Dennys and youll be served better and eat better.
