Classy Indian restaurant with excellent food. Wifey and I chose two decidedly British choices (Chicken Tikka and Rogan Josh) and both came out deliciously moist with a good level of spice. The chicken tikka came out on a sizzling plate with grilled onions and peppers which caught me a bit by surprise (had a Mexican sizzling fajitas plate feel) but was still fantastic. The Rogan Josh was enjoyed over steaming rice and polished off with fragrant garlic naan. We were seated by the bar (cozy "for two" booths) and the nearby bartender stayed busy making mixed drinks throughout the duration of our visit so I assume the mixed drinks are also fairly good. We will be returning in the future to try some of their other dishes and perhaps some drinks. Pros: + Juicy chicken dishes + Spice levels are good; not at all underwhelming unlike restaurants in outlying areas. So-sos: = Parking is a little tight but additional spaces can be accessed on the other side of the complex (enter on 166th or Cleveland) = Lighting is a bit dim (perhaps "atmospheric"?) Cons: - The order-to-food-arrival wait can be long (40 min on a busy Friday night) but one could say the wait is worth it. Mototip: If youre not one to leave your lid on your ride give the "for two" booths by the bar a pass. Also, it might go without saying but theres no dedicated moto parking.

For the money there is better Indian food nearby and you dont have to deal with a rude owner. I had gone there once about 5 years ago and was completely unimpressed with the bland food and decided to never go there. However, my pregnant wife had a craving for coconut chutney and I called a couple of places and someone ant Kanishka said they had it and would have some for me, I drove over to pick up the order and the owner, just stared at me for while, then asked around who took the order. Then finally told me without looking up from whatever he was doing that they have coconut chutney but dont sell it. However, someone brought out a tiny little plastic cup with some in it which the guy charged my $6 for. Thats fine. I looked at the menu and there are entire dishes for $7-8 which include the chutney as a side. I dont really mind the money, but accompanied by the rudeness of the guy at the desk, its just not worth going to this place. I was hoping after this that the chutney would at least be special but... it was average at best. Never going back (for real this time).

The buffet at Kanishka is one of my favorite meals on the east side. They have been pretty consistent in maintaining the quality and variety of their spread over the many years they have been in Redmond. Theres lots of variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian, north and south Indian items and they constantly change items in their buffet to keep things interesting. I particularly like the fact that their food doesnt have too much oil like it tends to be in many Indian restaurants. They even have a great choice of sides (such as salads and "raitas") and sweets (mango custard, rice pudding and "gulab jamun" being my favorites). They also do a great job with their service, although they can sometimes get overwhelmed with the crowd that descends there for lunch. In all a great Indian buffet experience that makes me a regular there.

Absolutely fantastic! We were in Bellevue, WA, for a sports tournament and read about this restaurant online. Decided to give it a try since we were in the mood for Indian food. We had a 25 minute wait for 5 of us around 7:30 on a Saturday night. It was TOTALLY WORTH IT! The chili chicken and desi crab cakes appetizers were scrumptious, followed by excellent saag paneer, chicken tikka masala, and seekh kabab. Try the "bullet" naan--it kicks up the spice/chili quotient to another level! Hubby also raved about the rasmalai. We really appreciated that the food was non-greasy and had a home cooked flavor. Our fabulous, friendly server helped us pack up leftovers and we brought them home with us to Portland, OR--thats how much we loved it! Great value to boot! Would give it 100 stars if possible!

Amazing food, excellent service! Im used to eating authentic, homecooked Indian food so Im very picky about qhete I eat it out. There are a lot of places I wont go back, but I regularly beg my husband to bring home food from Kanishka. Even the takeout is good. Service while dining is excellent and I love the buffet on the weekends. Always very clean with friendly staff. They remember regular customers and always go the extra mile for you to make you feel special. My only complaint is I wish they served more rice with thier dishes, so I always order an extra side. Star ratings are pretty accurate...be sure to tell them if its American scale or Indian scale because Indian scale 5 stars is a lot spicier than the American, lol.

Kanishkas lunch buffet is hands-down is the BEST Indian buffet that I have ever been to. The staff are nice and welcoming from the moment that you walk in the door. The restaurant is clean and the booths are comfortable. There are so many things to try on the buffet line and everything is quality and sooo good. They are good at topping up and refreshing the items that are set out, even after a table of 6 men proceed to pile 5 naans each on their plates and wipe it out without consideration for anyone but themselves... a few minutes and there was more. My only complaint is that my stomach is not big enough... I didnt want to stop eating but I was extremely full. Definitely looking forward to our return!

One of the best restaurants Ive ever visited in Seattle, Washington, Kanishka does justice to the Punjabi cuisine and enhances the notion that Punjabi food is unbeatable. Their scrumptious lunch buffet with a variety of delectable dishes is famous for its unique recipes and larger than large spread of food. A LA carte in the evening makes the guest lose himself in the incredibly long menu that encompasses the essence of Punjab in its pages. Their chicken Tikka masala, chicken korma, butter panel masala, bullet naan, garlic naan, biryanis, dry fruit kheer and awesome orange kulfi are specialities, to name a few. If youre going to Seattle, dont miss out on a meal youll always remember. Visit Kanishka!

I had a horrible experience while ordering a take out. I ordered shahi paneer and then a minute or even 30 secs later wanted to change that as my wife wanted something else. The lady on the reception wouldnt do that and said that once cook starts to cook they cant chane it. What is the worst part is that when i called them the second time the lady had just shouted to the cook make the paneer quickly, I could hear that on the phone. Seems like she was just asking the cook to prepare it so it looked like for some reason they wanted people to have Shahi paneer. I live close by and regularly order from there however now i will start going to the other ones nearby,

The restaurant setup is pretty awkward for a buffet. The buffet line is also setup pretty awkwardly and labeling of the food is not reasonable enough to identify what is vegetarian and what is not, and the primary ingredients names. I mean for an Indian person, just saying the name is sufficient if needed at all. For someone not familiar with Indian food, hence the need to do buffet and to try various ones, a name alone is not sufficient. Parking could also be a problem during busy times. Food quality for a non-Indian is reasonable. I wouldnt know if it is authentic or good or terrible based on Indian standards. The raita and desserts are quite runny.
