I had the country fried steak and eggs. It came with homefries, biscuits, and gravy. The biscuits were perfect - the texture was great. The steak was great as well - the batter had some unique spices and overall flavour and I thought it was very good. The homefries were obviously fresh and were just the right amount of crispy. The eggs were good - I had them over easy. I would have preferred the whites ever so slightly firmer but I think thats mostly just personal preference. The only letdown here was the gravy - it had potential but it really needed more pepper. Other than that, coffee was good and was never less than half full, service was good, and wait time at the door wasnt bad either considering the reputation here. My two cents!

This place definitely has the best breakfast in Norman, and you must try the blueberry pancakes, they are some of the best Ive had anywhere. Their bacon and sausage is also very good, and the staff here is friendly. The only real downside to this place is the small size and limited seating, and if youre coming on a weekend after about 8:00 in the morning, forget about getting a seat, the line is out the door and youll probably wait for at least a half hour or longer to get in. Not a place to bring a big crowd due to the cramped space, I wouldnt recommend more than four people to a party here.

My first time there and the people who worked there were insanely rude. From the moment my party of 6 and I walked in (after a ridiculous wait time) we were treated awful for no apparent reason. 4 of us left because of it without getting anything. 2 of my friends stayed because they had already ordered and said that they continued to be rude and that the food was below average. First and last time I go. Its hard to do anything revolutionary to breakfast (unlike lunches and dinners) so with so many other breakfast places out there I would avoid at all cost.

Great homestyle breakfast items, award winning chili, and southern favorites. Ty Pennington (of Extreme Home Makeover) recently did a show here where they completely fixed up the interior, seating, decor, etc. He also brought in a professional chef to help them add new menu items. With that said, The Diner has always been a local favorite, and with good reason! If you enjoy good food that is VERY affordable without sacrificing quality, quick service, and supporting local, family-friendly diners, this is your place!

The Diner is fantastic food for a decent price! Ive only ever had breakfast here so I dont know how lunch is, but this is my go to place if I have time to sit and enjoy. Make sure you get here early. On the weekends there tends to be a line waiting on tables. Also, parties of more than 5 will have an issue with seating so try and limit yourself to 4 or hope to get tables next to each other. Also make sure your whole party is there or else you wont be seated when theyre busy

My wife and I jumped on the Harley today and headed to Norman to check this place out. I saw it featured on Diners Drive-ins and Dives so we had to check it out. This place is awesome!! I loved everything about it. We had the eggs benedict special and blueberry pancakes...it was excellent. We sat at the counter which was so cool. We were able to watch everything being cooked right in front of us. Those ladies have the system figured out. We will be back!!

Old school greasy spoon run by hippies. Best huevos rancheros north of the Rio Grande. Solid menu, waitresses that know how to keep a coffee cup topped off, the same fellow washing dishes that they had when i moved to Norman 18 years ago. If you are brave, and pure of heart, you may have what it takes to order the Special Tamale Breakfast, an off-menu item. If you are able to do justice by this mighty dish of food, you too will be welcomed to the company of Giants.

Not very good. Since appearing on a popular diner food review show, prices are way too high to fit the tiny restaurant serving fairly basic breakfast dishes. Wasnt bad food but with seating being in demand and cramped, and the food not being anything special for the price, my family hasnt been back and dont see a return in our future. We prefer Fancy That next door. Much better value, service, food, and atmosphere.

This was a great spot when I was 18 or so but now 20 years later, while commendable they are still doing it up, it seems to have acquired a reputation too big to meet expectations. They serve basic breakfast dishes, and many are just fine, but dont expect the moon or anything. So much of a dining experience can depend on how you are treated by the staff, and their reputation for customer service was never stellar.

Omg the wait staff is horrible. One girl didnt know how big the sides was. The other yelled across the diner" Im going outside " your 5 feet from each other .. Food was not to par French toast under cooked which Ive never see before. Bean and beef burrito was natsy . and our server had no clue what she was doing . would not come again

I just dont get it. Lots of ppl rave about this place and it somehow gets on tv shows. Every time my wife and have eaten here it seems mediocre. Its a dinner but there are others around that offer better food. It must be a nostalgic thing because its been around forever and that make ppl think its awesome. For me its just ok.

Food great. but waitress was rude, and dumped coffee down my arm while looking the other way, and slung other peoples food in my lap with her rag, all because I sat down at the counter before she had a chance to wipe it down. When I complained, she told the owner I was rude to her. Jeez. What a pair.

You just cant beat a meal at The Diner. Everyone who works here will make you feel like youre at a big family dinner. The Machaca is wonderful, and the chili - well, its so great I gave up cooking it at home and just get it there. The staff is the best around.

I saw the show on Triple D and decided to give it a try on my way home to Texas from Wisconsin. The chili cheeseburger was awesome. There was a little bit of a wait to get a booth but well worth the wait. Love the atmosphere of the old school diner.

Our family stopped in on the way through town. We had a short wait, but well worth it! We had the eggorito which was quite tasty. The green chili ranchero sauce was outstanding! We also tried the chili cheese fries, those were equally as good.

Expensive & Poor Quality. Got coffee, 2 pancakes and omlet and paid $18.10. Omlet was not really an omlet but scrambled eggs placed on top of vegetables. Went to use restroom and sits in kitchen area, not sure how it passes code.

The Diner is delicious. I actively seek the best tasting food in this area. I am lucky to live near The Diner. The Mushroom Swiss Burger is large, juicy and delicious. The Huevos Rancheros are wonderful. I highly recommend it.
