After having visited Rosa Mexicano a few times, I do have to say that sitting at the bar for drinks and made-to-order guacamole is significantly better than going for a meal. The bartenders are great, and the tableside guacamole is a little on the salty side, but still delicious. Their margaritas are all made with fresh juices, so theres no artificial triple sec here -- a definite plus. However, meals here are a different story. My most recent trip there was for brunch. In addition to needing to ask for the brunch menu (we were given the lunch menu) and the waiter filling an already-full water glass, spilling water everywhere (an honest mistake), what I ordered is not what I received. Let me explain: I ordered the egg white burrito, which should have contained herb-scrambled egg whites, arugula, queso fresco, and tomatoes in a whole wheat tortilla. I got a burrito with egg whites in it, and thats about where the similarities end. There were no herbs, there was romaine and asparagus instead of arugula, there was no cheese, and the tortilla was white, not whole wheat. I ate it instead of sending it back, because my friends and I were on a bit of a deadline. I feel as though the server should have said that there were some substitutions to the dish that needed to be made, rather than just presenting me with a dish that was completely different from what I ordered. The whole experience was a little bizarre, and from now on I will only go back to get drinks and guacamole.

Fantastic location, especially if the weather permits outdoor seating facing the waterfront. The place was really busy when we went for dinner. The waitress seemed polite and friendly at first, but she disappeared completely after having served our drinks and taken our order. There was an inordinate amount of delay (probably 55 minutes or so) before the manager came out to apologize. There was some accident with our food on its way out and hence it had to be remade. The reason, I still chose to give them 4 stars was that they made up for this through their service and the food was on the house. Coming to the food itself, it was absolutely delicious and adequately portioned. The tortillas seemed freshly baked and the meat was very juicy and well seasoned. It was one of the best Mexican fine dining experiences as far as the quality of food was concerned. Will surely visit again, when in Boston.

First of all loved loved the patio. We called in asking if a table for 10 would fit and they accommodated us very well. It was so hot when I went but still was cute. The food is so good. One of my complaints is there isnt any syrup for pancakes or toast very accessible and neither is the ketchup. But they helped me out very quickly but itd be easier if it was more accessible. The mimosas are so delicious. Some places have very bitter mimosas but these were so cold and delicious. The last complaint was our waiter sort of forgot to check on us, we were a big group there in the patio in 80 degree weather, we were only brought one small pitcher for water and kept having to flag him down for more. Other than that the food was delicious, drinks on point, environment friendly and welcoming overall Id return again.

Food was so-so, atmosphere was kinda chic, but service was terrible. While my wife and I were waiting for a table, bar staff was inattentive. For dinner, my wife and I ordered the tableside guacamole that was not prepared at our table but rather suspiciously delivered from the back. We also ordered one plate to share, some sort of chicken enchilada that did not come with any side dish (that seemed odd). More frustrating was that it took 50 minutes for that to come, and only after I got up to use the restroom and our waitress then noticed me leaving the table. We had been given a recommendation for a Mexican restaurant that was on this street . . . There is another one up the street a little further and we sadly concluded we went to the wrong restaurant.

I love this place for their guac, apps, and signature frozen margarita (which is really strong). However, I think their main entrees are just okay. I usually get the "fajitas" which arent really even fajitas, just a plate with some sauces, chicken, rice, and beans. But I keep coming back for the guac, drinks, appetizers, and open space (the ceiling is really high and the place is big and airy which is nice). And afterwards you can walk around and grab a drink somewhere on the water overlooking the harbor. Just make sure to make a reservation or get there early in the summer as the waits can be very long!

Food was excellent and came out quick. Rest of the service was poor. The host, bartender, and our waitress all seemed completely overwhelmed, even though the restaurant was only half full. We sat at the bar while waiting for our table, and witnessed arguments among staff, drinks sitting for 20 minutes waiting to be picked up, and drinks that couldnt be identified. Once we were sat at our table, we waited 10 minutes for our waitress, then after placing our order, didnt see her again until we were ready for the check. Maybe they were just understaffed?

Service was top shelf...timely, efficient, with a smile...!!! Nice dining area to your left as you enter, with a bar area to your right for more casual dining with funky designs, tvs over the bar, and a relaxed, laid back atmosphere. My girlfriend is a tough critic on mexican, southwest cuisine and she could not have been happier. Drinks were right on, and the food awesome. I liked Rosa for the A] SERVICE B] casual atmosphere ( no loud music ) C ] cuisine. Perfect date spot, as you can converse very easily. Just a FUN place...!!!

I choose one star because there was nothing lower. The service was rude and acted weird around me and my wife, Im not from town just in the city for a performance the next day but i felt really oppressed. We were even seated right next to the kitchen when there were a lot more seats available. Why they have a seating area right next to the kitchen is beyond me. I felt like the waiters cold drop food on me at any given moment. I just felt really uncomfortable since the moment i walked in and will never return again.

This place was barley even average. Terrible service. After 15 minutes of sitting in a dead quite restaurant they finally bring the drinks. Extensive wait time for cold food upon arrival. Had them bring it back and warm it up. The food was so less than average. No authenticity. Nothing that was even slightly tasty besides their guacamole. Dont come. Especially dont come here if you are looking for: authentic Mexican, work event, impress a date, starving. Worst quesadillas Ive ever head. 0 flavor.

We got the famous Guacamole here, which they make table-side. I have never been more disappointed in my life. The guac was flavorless (didnt even have enough salt), and they seem to skip any citrus, cilantro, garlic, or cumin seasoning in the name of simplicity - I can mash up Avocados with onions and tomatoes at home just fine, dont need to pay $14 for that. My friend got the fish tacos, which were actually pretty good though, otherwise this would have been a 1-star review.
