I love Acapulcos. My family has come to this restaurant for almost a decade and we have never been disappointed. Somehow through several different owners the place has maintained a sense of family and quality that continues to impress me. Acapulcos is a relaxed family dinning experience. The perfect place to unwind and relax. Sit back, have a margarita, and enjoy. Everything is better if you take the time to enjoy it, and I never feel rushed. The original margaritas, hand made by the bartender are fresh, good citrus, just the right amount of crisp bite. They warm you up and cool you down at the same time. We always go in for the fiesta platter, its a mixed appetizer, nachos, beans, guacamole, quesadillas, spicy chicken wings, and little tacitos. Its a really nice way to sample a few different things and get in the mood. As for entrées, you cant go wrong with the fajitas or one of the build it yourself mixed Combos. Try something youve never had before and experience something new. Finally, if youre going to go for a dessert, I recommend the churros. These sticks of fried dough are authentic Latin American street food, with a little bit of cinnamon and cream. I was recently here for my birthday and I must say, these made the visit. As a long time resident of the area, I cant recommend the place highly enough. The best places are the ones you find off the beaten path. Look under the surface and you find good food, good drinks, and staff that treats you like family. Relax and enjoy. Easily five stars.

We eat here often as it is halfway between my house and a friends house. Food is mediocre at best and the wait staff are awful, one woman goes around in a rush and rudely barges into people. Today the waiter messed up our drink order and then argued with me about it. Later when i got the bill I was astounded to see that my Sauza margarita was $9.50. When I asked why he relied that Sauza was a premium tequila. I informed him that I was very knowledgeable about tequilas and that Sauza was not a premium tequila. The waiter then told me that I didnt know what I was talking about and that he knew better because he was Mexican. I pointed to other tequilas on the menu that were much better than Sauza and again he told me that I didnt know what I was talking about. I was so mad that I just paid and left before something happened that got me into trouble. This isnt the first time that I have been disappointed at this restaurant but it will be the last.

You wont find more authentic Mexican food on the North Shore. Im pretty discerning when it comes to my food and I come here every Friday (for over a year) for my fix of Mexican food. The staff here is incredibly friendly and very nice (anyone who said otherwise was likely the jerk in the interaction - literally everyone Ive met here has been great). The staff will remember you if you come multiple times and Ive actually formed relationships with several of them because they are genuinely good people. Overall, its a laid back place with good food and strong drinks...what more could you ask for?

" Bad Service and appearance of restaurant " I didnt like the service, it was awful. They took long with our drinks and didnt even go and ask if everything was ok or not after getting our food. Yeah some people dont like to be bothered when eating but once in a while ask or check if drinks are needed. The food was ok but nothing like I was expecting. This is definitely not an authentic Mexican restaurant at all. The appearance of this restaurant is not up to standard. Ceiling seems like it leaks and is dirty lamps are dusty thats not good specially for a restaurant.

Worst Mexican Restaurant in whole world. dont even worth to try. Owners kids are running inside the dining area and kitchen. Food is not good at all. Salsa had lots of water in. Food was filthy. I had a coupon but they dont accept it. Soda is just like a water. Food looks like 1 week old. Tortillas are rock hard. Worst service by unprofessional staff. Dirty vaccum was placed near enterence door. Lady behind bar had open hair and hair was flying while she was running. I think State health Department should take some action on this restaurant.

Its tough rating Acapulcos because our server was so nice and attentive, unfortunately though the kitchen was not operating on the same level as her during our visit. There also appeared to be a section of the restaurant not being used for customers and instead it appeared as though employees children were playing there (balls being kicked around, bikes leaning up against the wall etc.) Maybe I misunderstood what was happening but on the whole we just did not enjoy our experience at Acapulcos.

I cant be too harsh considering it was my first visit. Wed just left Hampton and got hungry and thought "what the heck.." The staff was nice enough. We were taken care of but the man serving us seemed distracted. Wasnt busy there at all. The prices for the food was a bit on the high side. We did, however, get our food relatively quick and I did enjoy my plate. I cant speak for others whove posted but I can say that my experience there wasnt bad for my first time.

Absolutely the worst customer service experience. It took forever to get waited on and then 45 minutes to get our meals, two of them arrived ice cold.We waited an additional ten minutes to get hot food, we requested refills on drinks which never arrived. The waiter was only attentive when he presented the bill.A very disappointing experience.

I was not impressed with the food or the service here. We were seated quick enough but then it took awhile for our waiter to come over and took quite a long time to get our drink order. The drinks were mediocre at best and the food was unimpressive. I was also not a big fan of the atmosphere with its loud colors. Not my kind of place.

Marco is wonderful. Every time we are in the area we look forward to eating a true Mexican meal there. Great service, great atmosphere...my family is always welcomed as family. Got the recommendation from the Fairfield Inn across the street...better than any concierge service I ever received! Go often!!!

Pricey for low quality food. $10 for a watered down margarita. Over $30 for a drink and quesadillas which is crazy. Much better options in Newburyport or Ipswich for similar price where you will get higher quality food and drinks. Food is loaded with grease and will upset your stomach for days to come!

Dirty, dark, slow service, absolutely generic food that tastes like its been microwaved. Has really gone downhill over the last few years. We dont eat there anymore. Note that this covers only the Amesbury location; cant speak for others.

The Acapulco burrito is my favorite and if you like margaritas... do not forget to try one from here. The employees are very friendly all the time also. Can upload pictures of the meal mentioned if requested.
