It does have kind of a fast-food Chipotle kind of feel, but the food is good and speedy. They could easily market this as a fast food chain! They have outdoor seating and the location is very central to downtown and the mall. Service was very good and the food was satisfying - a good value in Silver Spring. As a vegetarian, I love falafel and this style of food and Ive eaten a lot of it. I absolutely love the way they package their falafels -- Easy to eat and not messy. The roasted potatoes that came with the falafel platter were very tasty. The falafel itself was tasty, not as spicy as I like them but they held together well (didnt crumble too much) and everything stayed inside the slightly crunchy pita. Being picky and not liking radishes, I would prefer regular pickles or cucumber to radish inside, but thats just me. Being picky again, I was also expecting more tahini (Im not sure there was even any in there), which I know would have made it messier. The chick pea balls were a tad dry because of the lack of tahini, but the other ingredients did help with that. Easily fixed, though - Im going to ask for extra tahini on the side when I go back. They use styrofoam containers for their to-go orders, which may not be the best "green" solution.

Came here with a friend for lunch. After you order at the counter, you seat yourself. The restaurant is spacious and theres enough seating. I ordered the Movzat. Not sure about the other dishes but my dish took a little longer to cook/prepare. Majority of the lamb shank was tender. There were some parts that were a little tough. The bone was quite huge but I guess thats expected. I thought the flavors were good. Could have used a little more herbs but tasty nonetheless. I didnt think it was too salty. I would actually give this place a 3.5. I thought it was more tasteful than Nando across the street. The staff was friendly. You get your utensils and what not at a central station so there isnt much interaction between the patron and staff. After youre done, you just leave your stuff at the table and they will come clear the table. Overall I would recommend this place and will be coming back here.

Love the food and outside seating in the warmer months. The only reason I hai m give 4 stars is that I had a very uncomfortable encounter here where a woman sat down at my table and asked me to buy her food. When youre travelling alone, moments like that can be scary if you take you by surprise. I saw her ask another customer too. However, I did see an employee give her some bread quietly, both to help her and handle the situation making customers uncomfortable, which I thought was very smart and kind. Ive eaten hear several times, and the other experiences were great.

I decided to stop to use this Taverna location..Ive been a loyal customer of this location for 10 years. My friend got a food poison and Im not satisfied with the quality of the food..It used to be better before..A half of my bonus card was validated manually but the register person for 5 minutes tried to convince me that they only use digital validation even though I explained that all stamps on the card I have got recently from this location.

Ive been going to this location for not quite ten years. The food is consistent and tasty, and the service (while originally solid) has gotten even better. My wife and I can split an entree and some hummus and both of us come away full. Ill grant there are certainly better places to eat in Silver Spring -- but if Im feeling Mediterranean food and fresh bread, they really hit the spot!

I have eaten some good Lebanese food before. This has the chain restaurant syndrome all over it. I do not like paying good money for a meal then have to be called up to get my tray and carry it back to the table myself. That is what fast food is, which is nit what this place is because it takes them forever to get you even the smallest order. Go Elsewhere.

Not very full and waited 45 minutes to get food. The chicken schwarma? was hardly edible. I didnt finish it. The salad was plain and not very tasteful. The humus was bland and I prefer the stuff you get at Costco. All sizes were small and cost $11. I hope they pick up their game but I will not be going back there again.

Bread hot fresh soft, lamb kabob perfect, baba ghanoush smoky yum, hommous silky perfect, portions HuUuGE. We ordered a beautiful mezze platter, lentil soup , lamb shank, kabob. We were not disappointed. A tad salty for my liking but definitely not a dealbreaker. I should have gotten something with rice on the side.

Decent food, poor service. Watched them serve my food to another table, then a few minutes later they serve me the same food off the other table! The food is good here but the service was really weak and tables were dirty. Inexcusable considering how slow it was at the time.

The service is horrible!. The person who took my order was quite impatient and had a terrible attitude. Also, they clean up after a person leaves, but wait a long time to do so...so youll walk in and there will be dirty trays lying on the tables...an appetite killer.

I ordered a half chicken dinner with rice and a small salad. I payed $15.00 for my meal and it wasnt worth what I payed for. The food was of poor quality. I can get better food else where for a cheaper price. I"m going to put this restauant on my do not return list.

avoid it at all cost. the place has gone down hill.. The food was lukewarm when I got it (Ouzi, shredded lamb dish). My wifes salad was really bad: dry and hard chicken, cucumber tasted weird, feta cheese was hard and dry. The quality just doesnt cut!

I got the fattoush salad here it was pretty good. I also bought some sumac spice. The prices here were a bit high for just a simple salad and a small bottle of sumac, having bought both elsewhere before.

Food is OK , but it seems the people working are just in a bad place in life, horrible, u ask for an extra garlic sauce and the world comes crashing down on them , guys seriously ?

Great msaka. This is their cafe-style restaurant. For a classier sit-down restaurant feel, they have a great Lebanese Taverna Restaurant in Bethesda, though its pricier.

Not bad but not great either. Food portions were somewhat on the small side, I thought.

Very tasty food, good quantity of food makes the price worth it in the end.

Ok, ubiquitous. The original in Arlington was wonderful way back when...
